I went on World 1 the other day and took down the combat levels of a rather large number of players at four different free-to-play locations. This is what I found:

 

 

 

Varrock median level: 45

 

Lumbridge median level: 27

 

Falador median level: 50

 

Karamja median level: 58

 

 

 

Locations where I took these statistics

 

 

 

Varrock: near the general store, on the path leading to Lumbridge

 

Lumbridge: On the path by the combat tutors

 

Falador: On the path next to the east bank

 

Karamja- Lobster fishing point

uhhh, ok. there was a thread discussing random rs facts, if someone could post it for him that would be good. i don't have the patience to find it.

It's cause the lower levels stay closer to home, until they grow up and explore. lol

i hope this isn't spam, but what exactly is the point of these statistics. these medians could change within a minute, especially in suck a full place.

Curious, how many people did you count in each area to get these figures, obviously the more you get the more accurately it will show the levels of players in certain areas.

i'm surprised at how high the lumbridge average was. how many people did you count in? unless it was a low number and you got one high level, that's pretty surprising.

umm, i don't know where you go to school, but whoever told you that was lying. a median is the number in the middle of the numbers given. the average is all the numbers added up, then divided by the amount of numbers there are (also called the mean)

:-s killing goblins, cutting trees, killing cows, doing those extremely idiotic quests that take 2 minutes.... listening to tutors.... plenty of things to do. i made a new f2p account the other day and it still hasn't left lumbridge, there's plenty to do.

I did another little count like that right after the poll where members voted on their age/gender.

 

 

 

Went to ardougne, counted the number of male and female characters I saw and came to the conclusion that 3 of every 4 female characters you see is indeed a female.

 

 

 

Wish I still had those numbers.

But why did you pick the median? wouldn't the mode matter more? because if you have two or three lvl 126 and the rest of the people mostly lvl 60, the 126's would greatly distrupt the data...

Why the median? you basically have to compile a table of frequency against lvls and doing some calculations. Finding the mean would be much more accurate. Mode is useless. :notalk:

That's why the raw data should be posted. If you go by standard deviation, the 126's may be outside the norm, and considered outliers, and not computed into an average.

median and average are the same thing technically, or rather median is one kind of average. average is a category that includes mean, median, and mode. generally average is used to mean "mean", which is all statistics added up and divided by the number of statistics

I guess edgevilee W99 median lvl is 90+
