July 13, 200719 yr NES sold more consoles than the PS3. Therefore, we can conclude that the NES is better than the PS3. I love your logic, but whatever. The PS2 is a good console, and it was user-friendly and the like. Bigger game selection, blah blah blah. It also came with a DVD player in it, unlike the Xbox, which you had to pay extra for. It came out back when DVD players were still really expensive, so...Do the math. How many people do ya' figure bought the PS2 because it was a console and played DVD's? Quite a few, surely. I know that was part of why I bought it. Learn English, please. And...Well, just don't post about stuff anymore, because your logic isn't very good. The popularity of any given religion today depends on the victories of the wars they fought in the past. - Me!
July 14, 200719 yr Then again, as was said earlier, a lot of those sales were resold consoles. I know of about 3 people who have had problems..two were fried completely. Yes, 2 people. Now how many people do you know with messed up 360s? And to Tigra- I'd consider NES to be better than PS3 any day
July 14, 200719 yr Sony sucks. (Sorry, I just had to say that.) Okay, I edited so this isn't complete spam. The Ps3 is losing to the Wii and 360, and the PSP isn't that great a handheld when you get down to it. Sony fanboys irritate the hell out of me, I'm sorry. And that is opposed to being irritated by fanboys who are loyal to a company who have admitted that every single one of their consoles is defective in some way? Fuh? Which one? And do you mean me? I'm not "loyal to" any company. I'm not really a fanboy of anyone, I kinda like Nintendo and the Wii, I have a DS, that's about it...Yes the Ps2 was good, the Ps3 isn't. Overpriced, I say. I guess I may as well stick with the good old computer. Not as much fanboy-ism there.

Now how many people do you know with messed up 360s? And to Tigra- I'd consider NES to be better than PS3 any day The 360s are being fixed for free because of a new 3 year warranty. Even people that had to pay to get their's fixed are being refunded. That's something Sony did not do with ps2's because they break [usually] right after the crappy warranty is up.

Although I have to admit that the Wii is more of a secondary console. The 360 came out a year (or less maybe) before any of the next generations consoles did. I have said this before and i will say it again. Only time will tell.

July 14, 200719 yr And the ps2 was out a year or two before the x box i will admit thatA total of 9 months actually :o , big number  Thats like 270 days
July 14, 200719 yr the reason the PS3 isnt selling is the price and there are few games for it but once Metal gear solid 4,devil may cry 4,GTA4 and assassins creed come out im geting my ps3. The point im making is that no console has ever.EVER.Sold as many units as the ps2 and the X-BOX is 94 MILLION UNITS BEHIND! And the ps2 was out a year or two before the x box i will admit that ps2 has been out longer, do you think that people are going to start buying 94 million xboxs when theirs xbox 360 out? and do you even have a xbox? Has anyone heard about the news in Europe? Yep, you Americans get it cut down to about ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã250 ($495 I think), while we Europeans have been told there will be no price cut, and the console will remain at ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã425 - about ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã175 more than it would be over the Pond. Are they intent on destroying their fanbases in here in Australia? I never though I'd see the day where Nintendo, despite its complete neglegence of the EU, would actually have a bigger fanbase here for its Wii than SONY have for the PS3... | Favourite Game Music | Last.fm | HYT Friend Chat Rules |
July 14, 200719 yr First off, I have heard bad things about wikipedia. And when the PS3 was released, I didnt see hardly any advertising for it, and I didnt even know it was out at the time :notalk:

Don't feel bad the people across the pond will not have a price drop for long. They are going to be discontinuing the 60GB model at $500 and are only going to have the 80GB at $600, just like before. So the price went from $600 to $600  . Another thing that is ticking me off is that the 80GB model costs them less to produce than the 60GB because they are now software emulating the ps2 instaid of hardware like before. So if you want to play all your ps2 games, forget about it because it will not have 95% compatibility anymore.

Now how many people do you know with messed up 360s? Yes, but the people who had messed up PS2's acually had to buy new ones and every person who has a Xbox 360 will: a) (If there 360 broke once the warrenty broke and they had to pay for a new one) They will be refunded. B) (There 360 broke within the warrenty) Will now have a 3 year extended warrenty. So there is a difference :) Your better off having a broken 360 than having a broken PS2/PS3. No [cabbage] you will have to buy a new PS2 if the warranty goes out, but it came out 7 years ago. ITS OLD. But it still brings up the point, I have never known anyone to ever have to call Sony for a replacement product. EVER. Not even a TV, a DVD player or a console or anything like that. And I have only known 1 person to ever need a replacement Nintendo product. So who do you think loses here?
July 14, 200719 yr Now how many people do you know with messed up 360s? I know nobody with a messed up 360..Microsoft took them in and fixed them, and for one guy, gave him a complete refund. As for Sony..no..I do not personally know anybody..but I have talked before with people who have had messed up Sony products. Heck, my neighbor has a Ps3. It takes him quite a few tries for it to actually turn on and read the disc..he also got his about a month after launch. And he is one of the luckier people I've talked to. And about the Ps2's sales, yes.. they have more than the Xbox. Why? It was released sooner. And it did the same thing the Ps3 is trying to do..it had advanced stuff inside, and a DVD player. And it had a good library at the start..which is the Ps3's fault. And, as Catbert said, the Ps2 is 7 years old..it is OLD. It's sold about 95 million units because it's been out for almost a decade. Not to mention the fanbase.

You shouldn't argue without knowing the latest news :shame: The Warrenty for the 360 is now 3 years. So right now it is not possible for anybody to have an out-of-warrenty 360. And everyone who had to pay before this change has now been refunded. Now lets take that one line slowely. "I have never known anyone to ever have to call Sony for a replacement product." Clearely you have never owned a PS2. I have owned 3 PS2's in my life because 2 have broken, and I still own the last. I know lots of my friends including myself have had a broken PS2, so what argument are you trying to make? Happy? >.< Now how many people do you know with messed up 360s? I know nobody with a messed up 360..Microsoft took them in and fixed them, and for one guy, gave him a complete refund. With the added 3 year warrenty, Microsoft lost over 1 Billion dollars in refunding the money for broken 360 owners. 8-) Guide to Everything Fletching XBL: Karmastocracy[stumbleupon]* Sits on a mossy rock with a notebook in hand, observing the behavior of the specimens dubbed "Fanboys"~"Even when the odds are against you, even when the chance of victory is bleak and your situation looks hopeless, take a look at the horizon, and think back to what you have learned. July 15, 200719 yr Do all of you ACTUALLY think that the only reason that the PS2 was the most successful was because it was released 9 months earlier? I have only ever had 1 problem with my PS2, and it was because it fell off of my entertainment center. It started having problems with the disc tray and I opened it up and fixed it in about 30 min And once your 3 year warranty goes out, you will all be screwed.

I remember you saying you weren't a fan of any sort on a different thread..it's clear you're a sony fanboy  No, I know why the Ps2 was most successful. It released 9 months earlier, and had a well-built library of games and more games to come by the time the xbox or GC was released. It had more variety in games, and it was a fun console to play and own overall..not to mention the DVD support (which, at the time, DVD players were fairly expensive). And you may have only had one problem with your Ps2..I haven't had any, luckily..but that doesn't mean that all sony products are perfect. My friend's Ps2 had a loose cable that rendered it useless until we fixed it, his disc tray is nearly destroyed, and his fan occasionally stops working..and he has had his for a shorter time than me. My neighbor's fell from his TV stand, and it couldn't be repaired. If anything, Sony's products are just as easily broken or damaged as microsoft's or nintendos.

July 15, 200719 yr ps2 came out over a year before xbox came out. It was the best system at the time since play station and n64
July 15, 200719 yr Ps2 did have a huge head-up because it was new and much better than the PS1. Nothing else was on the market. It's a good console, though. I'm convinced at least 50 million of those consoles have been purchased by Asian Ricer kids who put them in their Honda Civics, though. :o The popularity of any given religion today depends on the victories of the wars they fought in the past. - Me!

July 15, 200719 yr I know why they sold so many. Because I had to replace mine twice. I don't see why you're getting excited though. One obscenely powerful corporation is still making less than the other obscenely powerful corporation. Big whoop. Gamertag: King Arizona
