Neomop
Easiest solution to this is implement an option in the interface that lets you turn on or off the "Do X" functions. Wouldn't that be nice?

Fantastic idea.... Although, all the people crying about too many "DO X" options will more than likely use the "do x" options them selves. ;)
Capone_Sabre
They've done it to herblore now. :( I have to sit and watch it make 14 potions for me in 1/4 of the time I could do it. -.- Capone Sabre since April 2001.99 Attack, Defence, Strength and Hitpoints Achieved January 2005. Lugia_Lvl138
Altar X is probably coming soon :?. After altaring a few k D Bones, my arm feels a bit funny. But I'm smart enough to take a break when that happens. 4x Phat owner: Blue, Green, 2x Purple 3100+ GWD bosses soloed.Solo GWD Drops:5 Bandos Plates, 4 Bandos Boots, 3 Bandos Hilts, 2 Arma Helms, Arma Skirt, Arma Plate, 3 Arma Hilts, 4 Zammy Spears, Steam Staff, 15 Sara Swords, 6 Sara Hilts, 29 Shards. n64jive
It was too easy before, now this makes it a bit more of an accomplishment to have 99 Fletching. Its still boring as hell though :wall: what is wrong with a skill being "too easy" if it's easy for everyone.
Xraven92
even though "String X' is slower, i like it. I'm able to string bows much longer with out my fingers getting tired :
mrpez
How could 'string x' possibly be slower?
ltb2006
^because it strings them slower than rapidly clicking yew long (u)>bowstring all the time
Taito2004
Lawl I'm against most of the 'x's tbh. I survived back without them.. cooking 25,000 lobsters without having cook x nearly killed me. What nearly finished me off, was that about a month after I did it, they released cook-x. Talk about them making it easy.. i mean.. isn't the whole point of runescape to work at things, opposed to complaining that everything takes too long, and that you want easierr ways? I'm against it personally. >.< Just because of all of the bows that people have strung before now without string x ..it just wasnt needed IMO. 92/99 Fishing | 119/120 Combat | 92/99 Firemaking | 94/99 Fletching | 1878/1900 Total | 85/85 Slayer | 80/80 Prayer
Umega
hmm alch x next? As silly as it sounds, I would love that option. I hate alching anyway. No longer playing Runescape, I caught the WoW bug.
Kashi
Ahhhhh ... These people saying that getting a 99 should take work, that always gets to me. You're right! After I get home from work, that's the first thing I want to do, get on my computer and do more 'work'. My greatest ambition is to kill every member of the human race. However I am a realist and therefore know that I probably wont be able to.
Dharockslayer
Its not getting easier, it gets less tedious. Yes, I do respect all the guys who survived and got a 99 goal without X. But come on. Thats quite boring now isnt it? Yes it did require skill to click that fast. It might be slower, it might be less xp an hour. But it gives you the option to entertain yourself. And come on, you have to say clicking on bowstrings for 3 hours is anything but high quality entertainment. Hope they never release drop x though. Would make mining easier ( easier, still hard ). And alch x, meh, hope not. Interrested in joining the cabbagy madness? krisc6
i personally prefer make soft clay x because it means you dont have to click on all the buckets just 1 like herblore.
niligo
I totally support honoured =D> It's totally getting out of hand, people don't have to do anything anymore to get a 99 skill. People complaining about their wrists being hurt are stupid, as said before a few times they should take a break instead of being ignorant and continuing and then crying about their own fault. Also, people who got 99 already in some skills that used to be annoying (cooking, fishing (in RSC) e.g.) actually put alot of effort in their skill and have truley earned their 99 skill. They shouldn't make skills even easier, it's the worst idea of jagex ever. If you take a look at the highscores you see everyone except one person having every level 99, that's because the game is getting too easy! Jagex really needs to consider stopping making ___x options. The suggestion of choosing between turning ___x options on or off is fantastic, although turning it on needs a negative side like getting the job done much slower. These options also makes me think that they are like macros, doing no/little effort for a nice result. I support jagex less and less in their new updates. They shouldn't be busy creating useless things for little kids (wildy ditch e.g., there was already a message, if people ignored that and whined about losing stuff they shouldn't be playing in the first place), but they should leave the game as hard as it is now, work more on fun updates like quests etc. and most of all they should stop listening to people who whine about the game and are irresponsible. Many people won't agree with me and I haven't been very active on tif for years, but I wanted to share my opinion anyways. EDIT: To Dharockslayer: exactly what I was talking about, even though mining only got harder instead of all other skills getting easier. (In RSC you could still mine when your inventory was fulll and also in RS2 they removed not drying out by the granite mines + with the new move you perform while mining a rock powermining is alot more annoying (not slower though like many people think))
mchainmail
I think that eventually they are going to do an "either or" sort of thing, since Jagex are making so many "X" things. Personally, i don't like all of these Xs because the interface comes up when I try to cut 2 gems...

Personally, i don't like all of these Xs because the interface comes up when I try to cut 2 gems... Same here... I took like 5 gems out to be cut and had no idea that option was going to pop up on the bottem. I'm fine with most "Do-X" options but some of them are really not needed. Training my pure! RSBDavid
i was gonna get 99 fletching b4 this update.. i think they should add the old way in too so those who arent lazy can string 3k per hour again [software Engineer] - [Ability Bar Suggestion] - [Gaming Enthusiast]
killre3
I agree that string X is definitely slower but somewhat useful for reading forums while fletching. Also, one can now buy or sell items and look for good deals while stringing bows. I prefer to have string X, but Jagex could give everyone the option to choose.
