July 16, 200718 yr i was out for a nice green drag trip in wildy when: at the drags, theres an ancient mage(lv70 something) and a lv45 i go and start to kill a dragon, and get a nice drop cant remember exactly what it is but i ran to bank to bank it because i didnt want to risk it. on my way back, the 70 something and the 45 follow me, and the mage freezes me :boohoo: the 45 n00bstarts shouting" kill the nub, kill him!!!!eleven!!!!one!" and sure enough i die. and on my death "emote" the kid shouts hhhaaahahaaaapwwnedd nubbbbbbbbbbbb!! im like "wtf" and when i had died, the mage started attacking the nub =D> but later, i got a pm from the nub sayying he owned the mage! i rofl'ed at it , but give him sympathy at the same time(poor nub :( ) this is becoming a major problem in rs, especially in str pures(boy, i hate their runescimitar-ness!!) i wonder what his mental age was?

July 19, 200718 yr if i remember right runescape is a 13+ rated game yet on many occasions ive had people following me and begging for stuff and when i say no they get really mad at me and insult me so i say dont be so childish and most of the time i get i ony 7 il be wit i want u poo head. so ya i agree with you If you make a fire for a man he will be warm for a day, if you set a man on fire he will be warm for the rest of his life.i like tigers"if you say plz because its shorter then please ill say no because its shorter then yes""if you say trade please ill say screw you because its shorter then trading"
July 19, 200718 yr Those are just immature people. And using the wildy isn't as strong because pking areas involve competition and you'll encounter more bozos there. Best thing to do is just ignore them or use some sort of wit. We should euthanize anyone who lacks the capability to contribute to society in any way. Please don't elect this man for president in 2012

July 20, 200718 yr Just the other day i was training in the wilderness agility course and this dude comes in ghostly robes and i just keep on training yet he then weilds an anicent staff and ice barrages me and goes... Pwnt Much? I don't uncerstand why you would want to attack someone if you have nothing to gain from it. I guess it has to do with hormones or something. :?
July 20, 200718 yr :? Its weird how some people say something like "I pwneded you n00bi3!!!one!1!!" Even when they just stood there watching it all in CW. I guess its to the fact that you can be anyone you want on the internet. You might be in pjs and still act cool online. :
July 20, 200718 yr In rl, kids are constantly guided by parents and teachers as well as reprimanded if they do something wrong. In rs, there are many, many dumb things you can do that aren't against the rules, and even if they are that doesn't mean you'll face any consequences. Playing in an online game requires you to take responsibility over controlling your own behavior and staying orderly. You need to have a developed sense of ethical behavior, which apparantly alot of the people playing dont have. \
July 20, 200718 yr There is no real way to distinguish if the community is declining in age, but maturity I think can be seen with the naked eye. You may see alot of what you spoke of in the wild, cw, duel arena, etc, but as stated, people try to be the best and that is to look down on others to puff up yourself to make it "seem" you are the best. There is no way to really stop it, they aren't held liable for their actions and when people have almost no rules to go by, all heck breaks out loose. A reflection is just a distorted reality held by glass and your mind.
July 30, 200718 yr As true as this may/may not be, I would definitely say that people are losing sight of RS as a game, and more as a platform to rip people off, be annoying, etc. Believe me, I still hold this game dear, especially as a medieval sort of game, but why be annoying, greedy, etc. on RS when time could be better spent is beyond me. For me, RS is a blast to play, especially with those who keep its ideas to heart. If someone's going to be...n00bish...then why play? I mean, time is much better spent doing others things. I know, I won't get into that. I'll answer the question in my opinion... :) Yes, I think the age/maturity of RSers is decreasing/declining. :-k :wall: I don't run races to see who's the fastest, I run to see who has the most guts. -PreCurrently the best beat out there:Minuit jacuzzi (DatA Remix) - TEPR

August 7, 200718 yr God not another 'im mature this kid was killing me and shouting noob and i didn't like omg kids these days we need age limit'-rant. Sigh. You can get killed in the wilderness. Fact. Some people like to kill people that can't defend themselves. Fact. Some people like to vent their frustration in a game. Fact. Doesn't take a genius to work this out. Retired 2146 overall - 136 combat - 6 skillcapes Plus I think the whole teenage girl thing will end soon (hopefully), because my girlfriend is absolutely in love with him(she is 18), and im beginning to feel threatened by his [Justin Bieber] dashing looks.
August 10, 200718 yr You truly can't judge age/maturity demographics. Seeing as so many people lie about their age. (Also the two have no relation to each other.) Maturity is a strange subject. Assuming we're talking about mental maturity, we'll start at what we call "noobiness". ***Disclaimer: What I say below is generalities. There ARE exceptions*** Noobiness is an form of maturity which is very "childish". We must reflect on what it is to be childlike. This is referring to the minority of small children who laugh at people being hurt, don't care about others' feelings, oversensitive when something bad happens to them (which they'd find funny if happened to someone else) and are very rude (sound like anyone you've met ingame?). They are immature, and make up most of the Miniclip-referred populous of the game. Next is normality. These people care for others, laugh about the pain of bad people (the childlike ones), and are compassionate for things which deserve compassion. These make up most of the P2P populous. Lastly, we have Ideal. These people are presidential material (I will resist the temptation for making fun of the opposite political party here.). This is what you want people to be like. These make up a small amount of the RuneScape populous, and I absolutely love them (in a totally non-creepy way). *cough* These people belong to Chronic Demise *cough* Anyone can have any of the maturity rates, but yes, certain ages have more likelihood of them. If you believe you came from monkeys, you probably did.
August 12, 200718 yr Maturity decreasing in RuneScape? No. Maturity decreasing in real life? Yes. What happens in real life, happens on the Internet. "The cry of the poor is not always just, but if you never hear it you'll never know what justice is."
August 12, 200718 yr purely speculation, but it seems that maturity ingame is directly related to RL. children are being allowed to make too many choices nowadays, think of this. a child doesnt like being spanked so they'll complain to the government about abuse, even if the kid was caught shaving their cat. the government will concede to the child's wishes. which is a direct insult to them because, they've worked for so many years to be able to have a say in how things go. and now they're letting this small child with NO experience to make the judgement call. the kids grow up thinking they can get away with ANYTHING and don't care about rules. (i'm only applying this to the worst-case scenario) gets dragged over to RS and they lose all respect for people, because they're on a computer, possibly miles away. untouchable. after all, you'd lose your fingers if you'd just apologise instead of insulting people over and over again.. its so much easier to type "EYE HATEZ YOU STUPID LOsER NOOOB!!!!" than it is to say, "aww, dead" or "GG, You win." does anyone else feel that the more challenging the game, the greater the feeling of reward/completeness? i remember playing old NES games, and hating them while i played them. BUT i was just about ecstatic when i actually got past the stupidly annoying parts. now i play some other modern, dumbed-down remake of an excellent final fantasy, and i beat it, and i think.. wow, that was fun. just 'fun'. lacking in that dopamine charge that made games like RS so addicting. it's most likely impossible. but this next generation needs to learn to earn the right to complain/run the way things go, and they just ruin the fun for us older generation who worked hard in RS1 certing coal for hours. i probably made myself look like an idiot, but oh well. you're all 10000000385093425miles away and CANT TOUCH ME NANNY NANNY BOO BOO!
August 12, 200718 yr If it's one thing I keep shouting more and more in runescape it's ''kids!'' Mostly, I don't care if anyone wants to go pk in the wildness, that's what it is there for, but it's the pure maturity of the whole of runescape and not just f2p. I'm 17 and I'm seriously worried about the generation below me on this game, there isn't one day that I don't find myself looking at the text that some person has wrote and wondering how on earth they have any common sense. Most ''kids'' on rs, are either too young to play or have no real concept of what they are saying, a person doesn't need to say noob every five minutes to have a laugh, doesn't need to be mean, but it always seems to be the case. This maybe be steretypical but the older generation I've talked to are not noob callers or in any form mean to one another. It's the case of whats the person like outside the game and how does that reflect to in-game :-#
August 15, 200718 yr well said night, just as you said about how the older generation follows rules, acts more maturly in all matters. for instance, I'm training my range on the tzhaars atm and a lot of people try and take your kill, this is how it goes: immature: I ask the person if they can get their own kill, they respond in "no noob, this is a multi-combat place, I can do whatever I want" mature: I ask the person if they can get their own kill, they respond in "oh sry, ok" clearly you can point out what person is better listening and more mature.
