There is a best kind of item for every seperate aspect. In addition to this, what you might find to be the best might be seen as not that important by another player. Street prices also play a role. Party hats and other rares are sold at a ridiculously high price, whereas they are worth 1gp in the general store. This also applies on many many other items.
