Anyone know how to succesfully pick a classic interior doorknob (with just a little hole in it, not like a real key) using just a paperclip? Not using the key they give you? Cause we don't have one lol. In fact, it doesn't have to be a paperclip, just any common household item would do, like I heard it works with cloths hangers too.

This is a video of me breaking into the Kensington Microsaver deluxe laptop locks a couple of years ago. Note how long it actually takes me to open the lock in comparison to preparing the "key".

Its almost impossible to open a house door with a paperclip though, thats a movie trick. You are much more likely to gain entry by lock bumping. Get a uncut key from a shop and care into it yourself in certain points of which I will not go into detail on this forum and "bump" it in the lock to relase the pins in the tumbler. With the right amount of pressure you can open a lock pretty easily. Don't practice on your front door though because you can break the lock by doing this and then you'd need to get a new one hehe.

Well if it's the kind of interior door locks with only a little hole in it like I have at my house, I pick them with a paperclip all the time.

It's a bit harder to actually unlock it though

They work with a screwdriver.

you either need like 2 paper clips or a paper clip and a screwdriver. if you have two paper clips its really hard. you need to unbend one part of the paper clip so it sticks out. take the other and fold it in a way that it could turn the lock if it was unlocked with out getting in the way of the other paper clip. this is what the screwdriver is for if you haeve it. stick it in the bottom of the keyhole and turn it. it will put pressure on the pins. then take the first paper clip and stick it to the back of the lock then push it up and pull it out fast. this is called raking and might get a few pins then you need to push up the rest of the pins while keeping the pressure on the keyhole. this is very hard to do tho ind its easier to break in or carry an extra key.

well it kinna depends on the time of door, if its a bolt lock, then i got no idea, if its the classic one similar to the one below, just get a credit card or something like that, and slid it down the door where the latch is

that doesnt work on most doors anymore tho cause they usually have a peice of wood in front of tthe lock thingy

Iv tried a little lock pickin (some succesful :thumbsup: some not :cry: ) but the way i do it now is..if the lock dont pick, kick the door in, if the door dont give in, try the walls...sometimes doors are stronger than the walls...and hell, if the wall dont give in, might as well go for a window :XD:

I can't believe I'm the first to ask but, well, what are you trying to unlock? :lol: :uhh:

If it's the same type of locks as at my house, you just get a nail, push it in, until you find a sort of pillar, put the nail head on the top of that and push forward.

If you go on youtube and search lockpicking (or something like that) there is be a video that shows you how to lockpick a regular lock with two paperclips.

Only legitimate reply to this topic. Even my own reply provides little assistance other than reinforcing the above quoted reply. I'm a bit baffled as to why the person who wants to pick the lock didn't just use a little bit of common sense to solve the problem... I will throw in here that the tool of choice needs to be inserted dead center otherwise it won't hit the actuator.

I normally use a lollipop stick for these. Just push straight in, there's a little button thingy that will unlock it when it has enough pressure on it. They're meant to be opened easily, I also don't see why you want to 'pick' one of these... :lol:
