A107
Try Not to Breathe- R.E.M. (off the 1992 album Automatic for the People) I will try not to breathe. I can hold my head still with my hands at my knees. These eyes are the eyes of the old, shiver and fold. I will try not to breathe. This decision is mine. I have lived a full life and these are the eyes that I want you to remember. Oh. I need something to fly over my grave again. I need something to breathe. I will try not to burden you. I can hold these inside. I will hold my breath until all these shivers subside, just look in my eyes. I will try not to worry you. I have seen things that you will never see. Leave it to memory me. I shudder to breathe. I want you to remember. Oh. (you will never see) I need something to fly (something to fly) over my grave again. (you will never see) I need something to breathe. (something to breathe) Baby, don't shiver now. Why do you shiver now? (I will see things you will never see) I need something to fly (something to fly) over my grave again. (I will see things you will never see) I need something to breathe. Oh. Oh. Oh. I will try not to worry you. I have seen things that you will never see. Leave it to memory me. Don't dare me to breathe. I want you to remember. Oh. (you will never see) I need something to fly (something to fly) over my grave again. (you will never see) I need something to breathe. (something to breathe) Baby, don't shiver now. Why do you shiver now? (I will see things you will never see) I need something to breathe. (something to breathe - I have seen things you will never see) I want you to remember. Also other honorable mentions- Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)- Green Day Lake of Fire- Nirvana (for my inner morbidness) Beautiful Day- U2 Starz- Smashing Pumpkins When I Go Out- Five Iron Frenzy (for my inner extremely morbid self, only if i get killed in an auto accident tho :boohoo:  ) When I go out I play in the street I get hit by cars I make mashed potatoes I get hit by CARS Oh there are endless choices but those are the ones i thought of. Lionheart_0
Absolutely no vocal music will played at mine, as I dislike vocals really. Start out with To zanarkand (FFX), then a random Piece by Mozart (I would allow family and friends to decide this), Then finnish off with a full playing of Choppins Funeral March. IGoddessI
This one and no one is allowed to wear black, I want people to celebrate my life not mourn it so they need to wear bright happy colours. While belting out a few of my favourite techno and trance favourites. Here I go Out to the sea again The sunshine fills my hair And dreams hang in the air Gulls in the sky And in my blue eyes I know it feels unfair There is magic everywhere Look at me standing here Here on my own again Up straight in the sunshine No need to run and hide It's a wonderful, wonderful life No need to laugh and cry It's a wonderful, wonderful life Sun's in your eyes The heat is in your hair They seem to hate you Because you are there And I need a friend Oh, oh, I need a friend To make me happy I stand here on my own Oh oh oh ooh, Look at me standing here I'm here on my own again Up straight in the sunshine No need to run and hide It's a wonderful, wonderful life No need to laugh and cry It's a wonderful, wonderful life I need a friend Oh, I need a friend To make me happy Not so alone Look at me standing here I'm here on my own again Up straight in the sunshine No need to run and hide It's a wonderful, wonderful life No need to laugh and cry It's a wonderful, wonderful life No need to run and hide It's a wonderful, wonderful life No need to laugh and cry It's a wonderful, wonderful life The only people who tell you that you can't do something are those who have already given up on their own dreams so feel the need to discourage yours. How2PK
I don't know how long you guys want your funeral to take? Not to mention that more than one or two songs kind of kills the effect. Don't you think. I wouldn't know what to play. Pop music at my funeral seems weird anyway. I'm sure the church will play something nice. Well, maybe I'll choose The Nightfly. Not because it's related to death or something. But because it'll loosen things up a bit. Make people cry-laugh or something, because they knew I enjoyed it so much. I don't know. Lateralus
Ha, I guess we can assume cheese will be served at this funeral....says the guy who picked Danny Boy. I think my choice is a little more justified. Have your extended family been singing Hallowed Be Thy Name to you since the day you were born? I guess it would explain some things. How2PK
What's the use of it then, if we're not being serious anyway. Then any topic with music you enjoy would do. Kind of pointless, if you ask me. speedofsound
You'd want dragonforce played at your funeral? :uhh: @How2PK My list was more of a suggestions of songs to use, as in, my funeral planners could pick anyone of those songs. You can't ever find a place that's nice and peaceful, because there isn't any. You may think there is, but once you get there, when you're not looking, somebody'll sneak up and write "(bleep) you" right under your nose. Try it sometime. I think, even, if I ever die, and they stick me in a cemetery, and I have a tombstone and all, it'll say "Holden Caulfield" on it, and then what year I was born and what year I died, and then right under that it'll say "(bleep) you." Icingdeath
I also think 'A Tout Le Monde' by Megadeth would be fairly appropriate to play at a funeral. I really wouldn't call it an era. It was more of a definitive time period during which dinstinctive characteristics were expressed in similar ways.

aquariusman
I think I'm going to change my choice of music to Here's to the Night by Eve 6. Damn good song along the lines of remembrance. I would still like some Streetlight at my funeral though, I'd even settle for some BOTAR (Bandits Of The Acoustic Revolution, a Streetlight Manifesto side project, still ska). But then again, I'll be dead and hopefully much, much older so I either wouldn't care or I would choose a special song between me and my loved one(s). There's no such thing as regret. A regret means you are unhappy with the person you are now,and if you're unhappy with the person you are, you change yourself. Thatregret will no longer be a regret, because it will help to form the new, better you. So really, a regret isn't a regret. It's experience. king_kenny69
Ceremonial Requiem by Graveworm, sent shivers down my spine first time I heard it. A bagpipe and piano instrumental to traditional black metal keyboards and sound effects, beautiful. My Last.Fm
Mithr4ndir
Either Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd, Annihilation of the Wicked by Nile, or Under a Glass Moon by Dream Theater. It's not like any of these songs represent dying, or moving on. I just believe that at a funeral, the people there should remember you. And the music you listen to is a good way. Tigra00
This is a popular question asked...The problem is...When is the last time you've ever heard of someone playing anything other than organ music at a funeral? Never. The popularity of any given religion today depends on the victories of the wars they fought in the past. - Me!

Kwisatz
My funeral songs would be: Blue Oyster Cult - Perfect Water Boston - Don't Look Back and to top it all off... Styx - Come Sail Away. I already told my parents about that last one, and said that if at all possible to get the golden era Styx lineup to regroup and perform it live. And for those who call me weird, you can't deny that the tapping part of that song is awesome to the tenth power. handed me TWO tissues to clear up. I was like "i'm going to need a few more paper towels than that luv"
Darkluniux
Umm, The complete Mozart's requiem... At least the introductio and Dies Irae parts. And perhaps Handel's Zadok the priest. Of course I would like something macabre by Franz Liszt like Totentanz or faust! http://darkluniux.blogspot.comBehold my blog! Thou shalt visit it and rejoice!
