I have to say that the 360 has almost run its course with all the awaited games. The only reason the ps3 is doing bad is because Sony was not very smart in its release. If they had thought out the console more and fixed all the bugs instead of trying to rush it to shelves to release when the Wii was i think it would have turned out much better for them.

 

 

 

Now i have to say Halo 3 is going to bump up the 360's numbers even more and maybe a couple other games will do the same but after that what next? The ps3 just has so many games comming out like Kingdom hearts 3, the next ratchet and clank, final fantasy. I think its going to be close between them.

 

 

 

What really angers me about these game critics is that they never view the Wii as being any sort of threat. Nice graphics and giant processors does not a good console make. I've said this before and i'll say it again, it all comes down to the games.

 

 

 

I agree with everything but those two statements. Sqenix hasn't said they would release KH3 for that particular system, because it is doing bad, they are not sure; either Wii or PS3. Plus, Final Fantasy has been leaning with Wii and NDS, so that is unsure. All of the games for the PS3 are switching over to other consoled. I wish Sony would have not rushed the release...

I don't think there's much chance of it switching now, if for no reason other than I expect it to be huge. I don't remember who, but one company said (of a game they are currently developing) that they have to go with the PS3 because of the larger disk capacity of Blu-Ray campared to HD-DVD. And I think FFXII will be a console seller regardless of the price. FF fanboys are notorious for wanting to play they newest FF they can get their hands on right on launch day.(I should know)

As far as I've heard - FFXIII is for PS3 exclusively. The game that's in development for Wii is not KH3 (I don't think they're even talking about that yet, at least not publicly), it's some continuation of the Final Fantasy Chronicles DS series.

 

 

 

I agree with the technology advantage argument - the next Kingdom Hearts would be interesting with the Wiimote, but I ultimately think Square Enix will default to Sony because it will take a lot more disk than the Wii can offer to effectively produce the next game in the Kingdom Hearts series. On the Wii it'd be Kingdom Hearts 2 with a stick you can wave around that vaguely resembles the motions on screen of the Key Blade.

 

 

 

(By the way - has anyone else noticed how inaccurate the Wiimote is for some games? It's great for some, and I won't deny it's fun no matter what, but wow the motion sensing is abysmal sometimes -- or that might just be my Wiimotes :()

Or it might just be you. I find that if i'm too close to the sensor it's thrown out a bit, but that's to be expected.

I've had a good amount of problems with my WiiMotes. Not nearly as accurate as I thought they would be, not as responsive in some cases either. Might be game side problems though.

Generally I stand about 15 feet away from my TV when I play - the construction of my basement (no obstructions in the way, either) and the dimensions of my television are best suited to that distance.

 

 

 

Although when playing Mario Party 8 at a friend's house I tend to get excited and move a little too close to the sensor :P (but it only deteriorates in quality once you're within 2.5 feet or so, in my experience).

That's what I think may be the case. Excite Truck completely misses my movements sometimes, and the Wii Sports/Wii Play games... well, let's not mention those. -.-

Wii Spots is hardcore accurate for me, so is Wii Play.

 

Might be a problem with the senor bar itself and not the 'motes or games.

But no one can tell the outcome. Squenix is even making exclusive games for the 360, I never saw that coming. They said they would for the wii, but not just crystal chronicles. However, FFXIII is on the PS3, I s'pose...Or will it? :shock: Also the KH3 thing...They could go for the PS3...But they said the might not, or they'll make it multi-system, thus giving any KH fans that have a wii or 360 allowed to have it, then 4-5 mil PS3 fans can get a copy on theirs.

Nintendo will likely push ahead with it's agressive marketing scheme to try and expand the market and will therefore tap into consumers that the other 2 consoles have no chance of even getting too. It's low price makes it even more appealing and needless to say I think the Wii would profit more by never having a price drop than lowering it.

 

 

 

Sony will try and test it's new grounds with online and Blueray. The blueray format war is already one with Blockbuster, Target, and Walmart dumping HD-DVD and having exclusibley Blue-Ray. The media market will be a huge profit to Sony although I can't really see the target audience of Sony for BLueray being the same one as the Gamers.

 

The console has the superior hardware and I predict it will age at a slower rate than the other 2 consoles which I think will have a much shorter life span after the 4th gen consoles are released than the Playstation 3.

 

 

 

Xbox 360 will continue to rake in huge profits from it's majorly succesful online portion of gameplay. but hardware failures, lack of expandability for future hardware and software (particularly Media) will age the console the fastest of all 3 consoles. Software sales will be being dominating the US Market however the rest of the world will completely as already seen ignore it. Australia is Sony territory, Europe is Sony territory, Japan is split between Sony and Nintendo, with Nintendo gaining most of the rest of Asia along with at least one-third of the US Market.

Well, Nintendo has to be smart about it, because they don;t make anything but video games. Sony and Microsoft are huge corporations with investments in other obvious fields, so they have stuff to fall back on if their gaming industry fails. They can afford to take a loss, but Nintendo can't.

How is the ps3 $450? I know it dropped to $500 but I got news for you, it's not staying there. Pretty much they dropped the price of the 60gb model to $500 then are introducing the 80gb at $600 then are going to be discontinuing the 60gb model.

In the UK the PS3 is about ÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâã400 for the 60GB model. If you do buy a PS3. You must get the best selling game Resistance. oh and sign up for the Playstation network

Actually if you look around hard enough you can get a PS3 for 350 bucks and that comes with 5 BD movies. You gotta sign up for a Sony credit card to get it but, anyway...it's an option.

 

 

 

Wii doesn't even count IMO. It's not next-gen. Graphics suck, 3rd party game support is awful. It's an Xbox or PS2 with a nunchuk controller. Casual gamers and parents are going to buy it for there families because it's the cheapest thing out there and fun for the whole family. No hardcore gamer is going to pick a Wii over PS3 or 360. Seriously...how many things can you do with Mario? :roll:

 

 

 

360 and PS3 will battle it out for quite a while. I still think Sony sells more consoles than MS in the end but that doesn't mean they win. MS better get there hardware issues under wraps tho or Sony will win. MGS4, Killzone 2, FFXIII, LittleBigPlanet, HS, Uncharted, GT5...those games are going to move consoles. MS is going to be around tho til the end no doubt. I don't own a 360 and don't ever plan on it but I like having them around...it's good for competition and in the end the gamer wins. 8-)
