So when do you guys start school? August 17 (Fri) when the move-in day at my college, and I'm really looking forward to it on one hand, but I'm also going to miss high school. Its pretty bittersweet. For the first time in 12 years I'm not going to open-house, or seeing the same friends I've been growing up with most of my life. I won't be waking up in my own bed at 7 o'clock in the morning to my mom's voice. Instead, I'll be waking up in an uncomfortable room to an alarm at about 10 o'clock (first class is at 11, which is a good thing). Instead of greeting all of my old friends, I'll be making a TON of new ones.

 

 

 

But yea, to sum it all up, it's going to be really bittersweet, but I'm looking forward to something new, and beginning a new chapter in my life.

 

 

 

Again, when are you guys going to school? What are your feelings going into the next school year, especially if you're going to a new place?

Well, in my country, we start a new school year every year, so the last month of the school year is December and the first one is February. Also, I'm on a German school, and after finishing this year and (hopefully) graduating with the national equivalent of a High-School Diploma, I'll stay in school a year more in order to get the German Abitur. I'm looking forward to trying it, as it's known to be quite harder, and this year will measure my ability to confront pressure.

A new school year every year, that means that, for example, instead of getting from 10th to 11th grade after July Holidays, we change it after December Holidays.

Okay sorry lol, just kind of skimmed over the post. Saying you start a new school year every year seemed kind of weird so I just assumed it was a typo or something I dunno. Still kind of confused how your schedule works. Are you just saying you start your school year and different times of the year, ever year?

August 27th as a Sophmore and can't wait! ^_^ Chatting with friends for hours, excuse to get good stuff from parents (good grades = new stuff), and the sheer entertainment it's students give me. Seriously. :D

Wow, I didn't really expect that kind of answer. I was always the same way, but it seems like everyone has a horrible attitude towards going to school. I think that if everyone viewed high school as a place to learn new information, and to interact and have fun with your peers, the overall attitude towards school would be way better, and less people would complain about how they hate school. Some people genuinely have a reasonable excuse not to like school, but it seems like its just the "cool thing to do" to say you hate school

I'm starting senior year August 23rd. Application time, fun.

 

 

 

Though I gave myself three total semesters of free periods to make my last year before college easy (Junior year is hell at my school, and I'm not talking SAT's and ACT's at all- the schoolwork's the most intense during Junior year). Thankfully the registrar's office must have been in a good mood when setting up my schedule, as two of those three are in both semester's first periods (last was 3rd period, second semester). So I have one free period first semester and two free periods second semester, as well as a less rigorous courseload than last year's (AP Latin Virgil was workload HELL :ohnoes: ).

 

 

 

Know what that means? It means that every school day of my senior year won't start at 8AM- it'll start at 9AM.

I'll be a freshman at the University of Michigan and I'm moving in August 29th. It's definitely bittersweet. I'm so excited but there's so much about home I'll miss.

I'll be a high school Sophomore. I'll have all advanced-placement classes, French II, Geometry (Already did Alg II). It shouldn't be that hard.

 

 

 

But it does suck that our uniform is a white polo (no labels), pleated khaki pants/shorts (no labels, no brads, no cargo stuff), and we can't wear hoodies and jackets with name brands.

 

 

 

I had the opportunity to go to a different school district, but I had to decline it because of my friends.

this tuesday i'll be starting my first year of jr. high

 

 

 

k-4 is elementary 5-7 is middle 8-9 is jr. high 10-12 is high

Haha! I'm going to Appalachian State, and we play you guys at your stadium our first game. We are going to get SMASHED. We are two time national champs for D1-AA the past two years, but you guys are one of the best 1A schools in the nation haha.

 

Seph: Ouch, school uniforms, that has to suck. I've never had to do that, but I honestly don't think it would be as bad as everyone makes it out to be. It would still probably suck lol

But my jr. high (jr high = 7-9) is also a highschool. So it's my old school, old friends. ;P My school goes grades 7-12, and there's an elementary next year. So you could spend your whole life there.

 

 

 

I'm kinda excited to see everyone in the school situation, even though I have been hanging out with them.

starting freshman year in college

I have to get up for an 8:00am lecture tomorrow morning. Third week (or fourth?), second semester, first year, undergraduate (3 year) bachelor of science degree.

 

 

 

It's... ok so far. Kind of ordinary. Maybe I'm just hard to please. Or hard to get motivated.

For the first time in my life i'm actually looking forward to going back to school. I know I won't be saying that when I have to get up at 6:45 again every morning but i'm looking forward to the extra challenge from A-levels and doing the subjects i'm genuinely interested in.

Serephurus: In Australia you have to wear school uniforms. Not casual, but formal. Business shirt [white for seniors], tie, black leather shoes, black pants etc.

 

 

 

Enjoy the fact that you only have to wear a polo and khaki pants.

I never know the exact date i start school until a few days beforehand (they put it on the board in front of the school, and since i only live 5 minutes away, im bound to see it).

 

 

 

All i know, is its some day after labour day in September. I'll be in grade 12. Technically this is my last year, then ill have my high school diploma. But im coming back an extra year to get some extra courses. I really only need 4 more courses to pass high school, but I cant only take 4, so im taking 6 courses, and 1 that is kinda a course. (Ill do more next year)

I start school tomorrow!!! :XD:

 

but really, I'm looking forward to it. I have plentyof classes this year that will finally give a good o' challenge and I might actually learn something new. :thumbsup:
