August 13, 200718 yr You got your y and i mixed up Vinyl lover :D They are both completely different mediums. Nothing compares to holding and putting on a good record at a party but then the quality deteriorates over times unlike a high bitrate mp3. August 13, 200718 yr Mp3 is obviously easier to transfer and move around, but nothing beats cutting up a good old vinyl. This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.
August 13, 200718 yr While mp3s are far more convenient and tend to have better sound quality, I cannot use them as thrown weapons in the same way that vinyl can be. Varrock Library: Shattered Sky | Silent Thunder | The Emperor's FinestAstri @ MythWeavers
August 13, 200718 yr I cannot use them as thrown weapons in the same way that vinyl can be.Expecially during the zombie apocalypse. August 13, 200718 yr Records sound nicer, and look 'cooler' to display rather than cd's, but mp3 format is alot easier to manage. Also, like said, record quality detoriates. And then ya got your wav format... Which is why I still take cd's out to the car. ;P It really has
August 13, 200718 yr If you take time and care for your music Vinyl is the way to go of course. Besides, it sounds better than a CD or an MP3. I got nothing with MP3. Vinyl or CDs for me. But I tend to go for CD's, because I haven't got a player for Vinyl myself. Maybe when I earn some more. It really is better and cooler. An MP3 player is very easy for traveling though. When I'm sitting in the train I see all those people with an Ipod carrying all the music they own. And then there's me, with five CD's (because you can't take more) and a discman, cosntantly switching when the record's done playing. It's a lot of work, and really annoying when it's bussy in your coupe. Signature by Maurice SendakWhen the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore!
August 15, 200718 yr But I tend to go for CD's, because I haven't got a player for Vinyl myself. Same. MP3s are good and all, but if I buy an album on iTunes, I always burn it to a cd, because I don't trust my computer. If I have 2,000 songs, and my computer crashes, I'm....well....let's say....not too happy. :wall: ^Btw that's happened to me before  Last.Fm My Bloggy Proud to have served on Tip.it Crew
August 15, 200718 yr lol you edited the title to an even worse spelling :D Mercifull <3 Suzi "We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape. August 15, 200718 yr Ideally i'd listen to vinyl all the time but i don't because its a pain. But yes i do prefer the sound of vinyl
August 15, 200718 yr I actually prefer MP3 over vinyl, much more easily organized and doesn't take up any space. The problem is if I want to listen to the songs on my stereo I have to burn a CD with them on it first. My vinyl is just right there, and is pretty convenient.
August 16, 200718 yr as an ex dj, the feel of vinyl on your hands is amazing and nothing will ever compare. But, as a listener, mp3. It's better than carting round a record player on the bus ;)

It's happened to my sister a couple times  (She has over 10,000 songs)
August 16, 200718 yr Do vinyls really have better sound quality than MP3s? I've heard people say that before (and obviously in this topic) but I never understood how that could be possible. :-s

August 16, 200718 yr Do vinyls really have better sound quality than MP3s? I've heard people say that before (and obviously in this topic) but I never understood how that could be possible. :-s If you're looking at the technical side of everything perhaps. But we all know that isn't how the world works. An LP has a much warmer sound and feels much more like something that 'lives'. Signature by Maurice SendakWhen the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore!
August 16, 200718 yr Well, mp3 I guess, because arent Vinyls them big black disc things? And I always listen to my mp3 :-w
August 19, 200718 yr Do vinyls really have better sound quality than MP3s? I've heard people say that before (and obviously in this topic) but I never understood how that could be possible. :-s If you're looking at the technical side of everything perhaps. But we all know that isn't how the world works. An LP has a much warmer sound and feels much more like something that 'lives'. They don't nessecarily have a "better" sound, in fact, the sound quality is actually a lot lower than mp3. What happens is when music is pressed to vinyl and then played, it's physically there in the grooves of the record, unlike mp3's which are a tonne of code. When you run a needle over one, you get the music, aswell as all of the dirt, dust and crap that's there on the record. There's also usually a low level noise called dithering across the whole thing. It actually sounds worse technically, but some people prefer the sound of vinyl because it's a bit more dirty/grungy and rough around the edges.
August 19, 200718 yr I enjoy listening to vinyl when Im at home plus I love collecting vinyl also. But for going out somewhere I always bring my mp3 player its much more handy and compact than a cd player
August 19, 200718 yr Edited your post because it had tons of spelling mistakes, to make it less confusing :) Anyways.. Nothing beats a good old vinyl, hehe. I don't even use CD's, it's MP3 or nothing. The joy of spinning a vinyl disc forward to make the music pitched and fast... Or holding it down to make it sound slow... Great stuff on old Elvis collections, maybe kind of immature but still fun if you visit your grandma or something and have nothing to do.
August 19, 200718 yr But for going out somewhere I always bring my mp3 player its much more handy and compact than a cd player Yeh, I do that aswell. If you take your cd player out in the car or something, there is more to carry around, and you will have to take lots of different cds as well if you want a variety of bands to listen to.
August 20, 200718 yr VINYL!!! Mercifull <3 Suzi "We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape. If we let players start doing this, it devalues RuneScape for others. August 29, 200718 yr When I move into my flat, there is a record player there, I am going to invest in some vinyl, especially some.. you guessed it, Led Zepp. :P
