Bioshock

Another small thing that pissed me off..

Played the demo on my pc, maxed out on 1680x1050

(1.83ghz Core 2 Duo, 256mb 7900gs, 2gig ram)

Same thing as Nadril I think...

I went to adjust the brightness within the game through its options menu.

after I exited the game I noticed my very fine tuned monitor was brighter than usual, I proceeded to spend the next 45min re-calibrating my monitor.

<.< just a word of warning, don't use the in-game gamma correction unless you want your computers overall calibration to be messed.

Seems the Windows version of the game isn't doing so well. I have the game for my 360 and I don't see too many flaws with the game. The graphics are pretty good and the gameplay is awesome. I got it two days ago and I've been playing it here and there. I haven't found time to sit down and play it for a long, uninterrupted period. Hopefully I'll beat it before school starts on Monday.

Just finished playing Bioshock, brilliant game.

I don't know why some of you are complaining, I run widescreen and have no problems. There is a fix out there already for widescreen and even without it it really doesn't bother me.

Simply put its one of the best games to come out of the past few years.

Spoilers:

[hide]So I got the 'evil' ending of the game. After the little sisters finished off 'atlas' (forgot his actual name) it went to the cutsceen. I killed and harvested every last one of them and then actually went above the sea and took over not only rapture but the world above.

The game was brilliant in my opinion. The scene with Ryan was an eye opener. I always thought that atlas might be evil but I never stopped to think that I was created by him as nothing more than a tool.

I actually felt kind of bad when the little sisters were helping me there in the end, even though they knew I killed many of them.

The final fight against atlas was great too.

However I do still have a lot of...unanswered questions which were brought up. There were a lot of bibles littered on the ground in the game, and I would hear those sometimes singing "god loves me yes he does....". I don't know if it has a more significant message in the game.

I do think the game does have a more significant message though...

:wall:

I had to play the demo on my pc, when i had it sitting on my 360...

Bioshock itself doesn't install a rootkit. It's the copy protection SecureRom does, which you need to run Bioshock. It's not a "true" rootkit either, it's not suppose to be malicious compared to other rootkits (sony anybody?) like in creating a backdor.

I know, I read the comments and such, still something I don't want on my computer, but now I do from simply DL'ing the demo. You can remove it, but its a long process.. I guess I'll get around to it eventually.

The full soundtrack for those who are into that (it's straight from the publisher's official website, so I doubt it's a copyright violation).

Too bad it's just the score and not any of the songs with singing, they had some good ones in there

I played and completed Bioshock. The game was ok, good atmosphere and story, but I found the gameplay a bit boring and lacking. After I finished the story I was releaved I completed it and I don't want to play it again. For me the game doesn't have an replayability. :|

No longer playing Runescape, I caught the WoW bug.

I agree with you on the re-play value. After getting both endings there isn't really much else to do.

Got it, played it, loved it, then...it stopped. No multiplayer, kinda easy when you realize that you can really NEVER die thanks to the vita-chambers. Still a good game though. Not worth $60 though. :?

I don't run races to see who's the fastest, I run to see who has the most guts. -Pre

Currently the best beat out there:
