this rant sums up reason #3 of why i hate the way jagex runs runescape.

I'd rather Jag not add anymore until they learn how to make 'walk here' the first option. If i like horses, would they make us horses for pets?

yea...very soon ppl will be asking jagex to allow jad to be their pet as a reward for completing the fight caves too :-w c'mon i dont see how dogs add value to the game...cats were simply part of a quest and a bit for entertainment (although im sure many ppl beg to differ as they are irritating at places such as pc, rc alters and the ilk....)

 

must well have a mithril dragon to fly me around too

We should at least have the option of wanting a cat or dog.

That's self-contradictory. You don't see what the dogs would do, but point out that cats do, well, absolutely nothing but a stupid quest and useless minigames.

 

 

 

Imagine now, what a dog can do. It can aid in Hunter, tracking down and herding animals into your traps. It can aid in combat, fighting your enemies (not in PvP, mind you. Can come into Wild, but only attack NPCs), but only in multicombat areas.

 

 

 

Going out on a limb, it could have a sack to hold a few (10-20) items. Bring Fido along with extra food whilst training! My dog has a saddle-like thing around her that we put water bottles in so she and us have cool water for breaks in walks. SO many possibilities.

 

 

 

And a cat! A cat can...umm...eat rats and fish? Fight blindly to the death against a useless enemy? Waste a square of bankspace + 1 for catspeak ammy? At least it's worth its mettle in Death Runes!

It might be a new pet. But consider. They have to do another quest for it, so it' s gonna take time if they will do it.

If you lack the capacity to imagine a dog instead of an unreal cat, then don't get one at all. If Jagex gave us every animal we want, then players would be walking around with an entire zoo in their inventory. All in all, it's just a game, so get over having a 3/4 inch by 1 inch pixel combination that looks remotely similar to a cat.

I`d like to be able to hatch the eggs i get from nests then maybe the bird could fly around my head and occasionally knock another nest out of the tree then fly away!

Because the game is 13+ and you might be offended by it.

Adding dogs to the game would be a useless waste of time and pixels as cats are annoying enough.

 

 

 

Hunting dogs would be useful to Hunters but I could see the rants now:

Seriously, hunting with dogs doesn't necessarily imply cruelty. People have used hunting dogs for centuries, especially in the era RuneScape is set around, so IMO dogs would be more suited to RuneScape if they were implemented.

Lol Dog's are coming dont worry, type in Bulldog in the Knowledge base and you'll see a little clue.

I think they should add a pet room to POH. Then we could have all kinds of things. Like pet dragons. Maybe your pets could follow you around your house?

A probable update in the future. Most easter eggs Jagex releases turn into updates. The Chaos Elemental, for example. His messages are riddled with easter eggs of the future.

Just because the knowledge base has a bulldog, it doesn't mean dogs are fated to become pets. For all we know, Jagex's staff were just bored, made a dog, and posted it on the knowledge base. It doesn't mean there will be dogs in RuneScape so quit bringing it up already!
