jagex could like the dog with POH by having say a wash basun (or how ever u spell it lol) kennel in the garden and u can wash it and u can buy say a ball for it to play fetch and jagex could even add a park for dog owners just an idea tho

This is such a weak rant. Adding a dog to runescape would be as useless as adding a black spear to the game and they'd probably have to add new quests so you can get a dog.

My favorite thing about felines though is their complete emotional detachment from the people who own them. They are so cool they don't give a crap (besides in a box in your house...yuck) if you live or die. It's really a small inconvenience for them, as they now have to work to get food.

 

 

 

I like cats, but what do they do to show affection? They make a noise that sounds a bit like a motorbike with the proper set of 500,000 mufflers (but that's another thing). They bring you "presents" of mice, rats, rabbits, and birds which are half eaten.

 

 

 

They poop in a box in your house (mentioned before). And they're absolutely positively useless when a burglar or other mischevious do-no-gooder comes around.

Also, to those who say cats are cold, it's because you have to earn their love. Dogs just love anything that moves (unless it was messed up), but cats you have to earn the love. My cats love me and I miss them dearly (I'm 4000 miles away from them).

On topic, I really don' t know why there isn' t a dog in RuneScape. A cat can help hunting too, you learn how to make your cat let' s say catch birds. But in the end, why not a skill for pets? Domesticating let' s say. You domesticate rats, unicorns, dogs, cats, dragons, demons. In the end, TzHaars. Imagine having a baby Tztok-Jad as a pet. Imagine the help in combat. Pet' s could help us in batlle, in multi combat. Really, not in PK, who could defeat a lvl 126 with a Jad at his shoulder?

Hunting with dogs is something I feel strongly about. The foxes/whatever are TORN apart in the most painful way, surely you wouldn't want that happening to you? Its not like shooting the animal through the brain which is a quick and semi-painless death, the deaths with dogs are often dragged out along like 5 minutes or something.

Good question. Maybe Jagex doesn't like dogs that much, considering the only dogs you really see are mean dogs or sad dogs.

 

 

 

Evil dogs: Hell Hounds, Wolves (Not exactly dogs but meh), and Wild Dogs or whatever.

 

 

 

Sad dogs: Those stray dogs in Varrock.

 

 

 

Everything else is cat based: Sophanem, cat quests and whatnot, and Bob the Jagex Cat (along with his kitty girlfriend).

 

 

 

But maybe one day they'll have dogs as pets, one cannot predict the future perfectly at this time :)

We already have cats as pets which will do pretty much all a dog will do.

 

 

 

However, this is a GAME, that is played for FUN. Adding dogs wouldn't be a huge thing. It would probably be very easy. Many more people would use the feature, as I know that I would.

It might actually shut up all those idiots who say rs encorages cruelty to dogs. Owning a dog and caring for it is not mistreating. Maybe they would forget about that stray dog and focus more on thier own dog.

 

 

 

You could even have little extra features such as dropping a dog AND a cat at the same time. They could fight etc. It has a lot of potential.

Are you joking? A cat and dog fighting? Do you know what a normal dog does to a normal cat? I have both, and I tell you, the cat doesn' t stand a chance. Sure they have claws, speed and agility, but dogs have size. Really big size compared to a cat. And people would rant about animal cruelty about theese fights. But if there were dogs, I suggest this:

 

 

 

You can choose 3 different dogs: hunting dogs, fightning dogs and normal dogs.

 

 

 

Hunting dogs: they aid you in hunting, thus improving the EXP per hour. They only help over lvl 60 hunting, but they can catchthe basic animals or help catch chinchompas and stuff. Bloodhound or such dogs.

 

 

 

Fighting dogs: they aid you in combat againts enemies that are about your size. They can deal upto 15 damage and will not attack enemies twice your level or other players. Bulldogs or such dogs.

 

 

 

Normal dogs: they' ll just follow you around. At start, you must use a leash, or they will run away. Later on, they will follow you on their own, fetch sticks, play with a ball, or you can rub his tummy : .

 

Golden retreivers and such.

 

 

 

Cats are normally inside your houses and don' t really follow you around on your quests. But they are really different, from tiger cats, to fluffy hairballs, and even bald cats. So you can choose between hair lenght, colour, stripes, dots, or just no hair and so on. Their new options could be giving them a ball so they run around with it, or you can take it in your hands and cuddle it : . So people could go around with sleeping cats in their hands.

 

 

 

Dogs won' t become helldogs or willy dogs and such since dogs come in three different types. But JAGeX could come up something for cats and dogs too in the future. Who knows.

A large dog like a labrador on the other hand, does not have very sharp claws, solid but not sharp, they attack slowly, they can't outrun the cat on short distances, and they cannot hide easily, nor follow the cat in any hole or height it would decide to go.

Heh, not what I saw. Belive me, it was really ugly, and the cat died in the end :cry: BUT the dog got blinded on one eye and got quite some scratches. Besides being a dog champion, he only had 3 years at that time. But all in all, I still think a german shepperd can beat a cat. Atleast I saw that :-X Friggin gross.

The cat did lunge at him, but the dog kept it' s distance and waited. Dunno where he got that smart. Apparently the dog was a veteran in dogfights and learned to keep it' s distance and wait for an attack. So every time the cat attacked, the dog had enough time to open it' s mouth and try to bite the cat. In the end, he got her by the neck :( poor cat. But an unexperienced dog againts a cat, whell, the dog will just attack. And I know when my two pets play, the cat jumps like a bunny.

 

Actually once my dog "lunged" at my cat, and the cat jumped up and landed on his head :XD:

 

 

 

Anyway, you really never know. In the end, it' s the lucky strike. A cat blinds the dog or the dog gets the cats' neck. And the age is important too.

 

 

 

Anyway, on topic, dogs could also just be useless like cats in Rune Scape. Just I don' t know how you could put one in your pocket.

OH MY GOD...ANIMAL FIGHTING?! Wow... have any of you heard about the case with the NFL player Michael Vick and how he was betting on dogfighting? That ends his career... so why doesn't Jagex let its good players AND its immature 7 year old players have dogs and cats that fight?! "Mommy, my pitbull killed a tabby cat today!"

I'm not saying an actual competition or anything. Because that's common sense - the dog would win.

 

 

 

I mean like a reaction between the dog and the cat. Growls etc. Maybe a chase. It could be quite amusing. Not ripping each others heads off. just a bit of the classic cat and mouse type thing (of course, with a dog and a cat.)

 

 

 

You would have to train them before the tricks. Maybe this will increase thier level and make them hurt to other players more. I don't like the idea of three types of dogs.
