October 20, 200718 yr yaay! came out yesterday over here in the EU and i've just picked up my copy. according to steam its a 1 1/2 hour install time though... [garden tool] hum. Took me 19 minutes :S worse than that now.. my disc drive decided to break 10 minutes into the install.. so i have to DL the rest. Woo!! PEGGLE XTREME!!! GET FIRED UP!!! EXTREME!! yeah its a good game... entertained me whilst I was waiting for the downloads to finish. Portal. Wow.. fantastic, ingenious, incredibly funny.. stuck on stage 15. but I refuse to look at a walkthrough. I WILL figure it out on my own.
October 20, 200718 yr I hate the commercials for the orange box, it says portal is "the best game of all time" All you do is shoot portals into walls and stuff and run around, great fun isn't it. NO. I think any of the halo or DMC games are 50 times better.(other ones I have no comment) Typical console kiddie. I have played portal, hated it, still think halo is better. October 20, 200718 yr Just had an awesome TF2 match. So me and my friend get stuck on a horrible team, right? Well I went heavy and he went medic. We managed to hold the first cap point of dust bowl (pretty much alone, everyone else sucked) for 5 mins, than the last point for close to 10. Sadly though we had to hold for like 30mins and he had to leave. Still, I managed to do 5700 damage within one life on my heavy. :D (after my medi left).
October 20, 200718 yr YES!! DID IT!! portal... wow... I can safely say thats the best ending i've seen in a long time. If not ever. effing wow. the.... and the.... and .. there was cake after all... and the song! and the computer lady was nice in the end (sort of) and lots of spheres... BEST BOSS FIGHT EVER. It was indeed a triumph. Best game i've played in a long long long time. Ingenious. Brilliant. Clever, incredibly witty. AND THE SONG! thats going on my PSP. Just one thought.. it must be bloody hard on 360. I cant imagine playing that without a mouse. --------------------------- and browsing the net for portal related crap for an hour or two.. WOW. this has got to be the best viral marketing i've ever seen... puts vanishing point to shame. I love it http://www.aperturescience.com for anyone who doesnt know what i'm going on about. second. Wow.. loads of theories about GLaDOS and chell and androids ect.. makes me really sad that i cant play it at max resolution and enjoy all the really fine details like the writing on the screens and the stuff on the walls. October 21, 200718 yr Author I got the Orange Box yesterday and I completed Portal Today, amazing game, Kudos to whoever thought of the idea. Also, Valve do have plans to release a Weighted Companion Cube as a desktop toy will be released by the end of this year. I am so buying one as soon as they are released :D
October 21, 200718 yr Completed portal yesterday night, amazing and funny game. It was one of a few games that made me laugh in real life. Maybe the game developers will finally switch from so common "You are a commando in the enemy territory, you target is to destroy everything that moves" type of gameplay because of it. October 22, 200718 yr I rented the Orange Box because I was pretty sure I wouldn't be able to find a game for TF2 on 360 (I was right), I wasn't sure if I'd like Portal or if I'd think it was too hard, and I wouldn't know if I'd like HL2.. Well...I like Portal but eventually ended up getting stuck and said screw it for the day. Tried TF2...Well, TRIED to TRY it...Couldn't find a game. HL2...I don't really have an opinion on yet. My favourite quote so far on Portal was when the AI said "This next task, is impossible." and then kept saying "We regret to inform you that this task is impossible." and then when you get it done, it says "Congratulations. I haven't been that choked by the ending of a game since HL-2 and this time I was laughing as well. It just had a feel good vibe all the way through and the puzzles were brilliant. You could always find the answer if you thought hard enough about it and doing the jumping tricks was great fun. 11/10. Thanks Venomai for this super sig and Kwimbob for the awesome avatar!

October 23, 200718 yr Oh yes, I love being a medic! Basically the only class I play nowadays (except on 2fort (I think) - I tend to be a soldier there). A couple of pointers for people who play other classes: - While waiting for the game to start and a medic is healing you - and if you're a soldier or demo - chances are pretty imminent that he wants you to shoot yourself. That way his ÃÆÃâÃâ¦Ã¢â¬Åbercharge charges faster. And if he doesn't, well then you can probably start shooting yourself anyway, and call on a medic. 60 seconds is more than enough time to max the ÃÆÃâÃâ¦Ã¢â¬Åbercharge. Really handy when charging in the beginning. - If a medic has his ÃÆÃâÃâ¦Ã¢â¬Åbercharge on you, don't just stand there - charge! Cause mayhem! - Just because you're a heavy doesn't mean I have to be on you like a leech every second of the game. Just a couple of things I've noticed some people seem to have a hard time realising, and the more who realise it early on, the easier our job becomes. :P

Well, that is, after they had spammed the "MEDIC!" button at least eight times. It is especially annoying if you're trying to max your ÃÆÃâÃâ¦Ã¢â¬Åbercharge before the game even starts. Besides, in some situations it's usually better to keep a soldier or demo guy up more so than a heavy (taking down turrets and dispensers for example). If any of you want to catch a game I'm usually on the server in the screenshot. :)

October 24, 200718 yr Uber pyro rushes are awesome if they're all nearby. I still like heavy + medic for general use though, if I have a good medic on me in the right spot I'll never die. For example, dustbowl is my favorite as a heavy. The very first point -- if I'm on the enemy defending team you will not cap that first point. I sit right in front of the closest door to the 1st cap point, and get a medic on me. I've done it with another heavy/medic too, and we just mow down everyone that tries to get out -- uber if we get in trouble. Its amazing.

You may think there is, but once you get there, when you're not looking, somebody'll sneak up and write "(bleep) you" right under your nose. Try it sometime. I think, even, if I ever die, and they stick me in a cemetery, and I have a tombstone and all, it'll say "Holden Caulfield" on it, and then what year I was born and what year I died, and then right under that it'll say "(bleep) you."
