Prior to the Behind The Scenes September update, Pure ess prices were cruising at an easy 70gp each, sometimes even lower. Rune ess went for a solid price of 40gp each, mass (200k+) sellers cashing in with 50gp each. When knowledge of a new Zamorak Altar (which probably isn't a blood altar as stated by a Jmod), pure ess prices shot up (90gp - 100gp) while rune ess prices plummeted (30gp ea - I myself bought 500K+ for 28gp ea :) ). This is understandable, as many people assume that the Zamorak Altar will ONLY take pure ess, which is required for the runecrafting high-level runes.

 

 

 

However, I (uncertainly) believe that either, A) a new type of essence will be introduced into the game, fit to be crafted by Zamorakians with their new altar, or B) regular rune essence will be the only essence accepted by the Zamorakian Altar. Sounds absurd? Well, it probably is, but I have my doubts on whether a Zamorak altar would accept something as 'pure' and 'Saradomin-like' as 'Pure' essence to be runecrafted. When I think of Pure, I think of 'perfect' or 'predictably reliable' (as in it's basically monotonous in its powers - with little side effects or something like that), which are attributes that the BTS excerpt does not suggest:

 

 

 

It will grant the ability to create runes higher than their normal skill requirements, but it's just a wee bit unpredictable...

 

 

 

My wild theory means that a new 'Impure' essence has a possibility of being introduced, only to be used to craft runes on this new Zamorak Altar. This would have a large (probably undesirable) effect on the current fluctuating rune/pure essence prices. I would guess that both prices will drop (rune essence possibly staying the same), given the introduction of this theorized "Impure Essence".

 

 

 

Now some questions: Do you think the introduction of a new essence to coincide with the Zammy Altar update is probable or preposterous? Would you think that the current flying prices of pure ess and falling prices of rune ess will drop or maintain? Do you think the major RC update will affect the money-making position of double nats via abyss (I hope my quest for 91 RC is not in vain)?

I agree. I think that some new type of "something", whether it be ess, or whatever will be introduced. However, pure essence isn't necessarly saradomin related, it's just "pure" as in refined. So, we could still be seeing the same old same old. However, the new altar is very hard to imagine. i hope it doesn't change the rc system that we have now, as we know it.

I doubt it will be ess, lest the prices flutter yet again. It would probably be either a new rune, or a new way of making old runes. I'm leaning towards the latter.

A new essence would be great. You're theory is pretty logical too. Although I don't think Jagex would introduce yet another type of essence into the game.

i agree i think that new rune ess would be great plus just think about how much all the prices of the other ess will be =ÃÆÃâÃâ¦Ã¾ so i hope it will be

hehe, I myself have 900k rune ess, and I'm torn between selling it now, keeping it to sell later, or just runecraft with them. :-#

they like to twist thing so i suppose it will give random runes... BUT there is also a chance to be able to craft blood runes (random chance)

OK, I've just bought 1.064 million rune essence (enough to be ablt to craft into air runes for 91 runecrafting). I'll be holding onto them, hoping that prices rise after the update. :XD:

Pure essence has always been unminable to f2p players. We can only mine regular Rune Essence. Members can mine both.

I can totally see this happening and the impure ess may even be used for some special new runes or may lead to blood crafting in the future.

But putting new ess into the game will be great but only if people actually use the altar alot. Meening it being better than Abyss.

 

 

 

But there needs to be a quest required so that we don't see lvl 3's mining the 'new' ess if there is one.

I think its gonna be a viable way to train rc tomake up for the rc pkers on the abyss.

Regardless of what happens in the update, I just hope pure ess prices fall and rune ess prices rise, so I didn't waste my money on the 1.05 million rune essence I bought from goldfarmers (for 28 ea). :

Doubt i'll sell the Pure Ess i currently own even if the price goes up. Let's just wait and see :P.

Eh, i think its just gonna be an alter where you can craft runes above your level, but the kind of runes you'll get is random. Of course, there has to be negative results, such as lowered exp for crafting them.

Maybe it randomly crafts those runes per ess. Like say you have 28 ess...6 might be bloods, 8 deaths, and 14 chaos...

ot: i think when prices rose before-hand it was doing autoers a favor. increasing basic essence to i belive 80-100gp ea from 40 doubled their profits. but hopefully they might drop abit because it seesm a tad stupid and despite we didnt mine it to craft with some dont have time (or patience like me)

Dear God, I hope my giant quest for 99 RC is not going to be in vain. It took me over 2 years to get it.
