chc05dude
I was getting about 1 pair in 100 kills As of last night, I've been getting 1 pair in 300 kills. Longest streak without a drop is about 475, as of last night. I think it got nerfed.
doomy
I reckon jagex just waits till the drop gets to the price they want, and then nerf it. It makes sense really. Doomy edit: I like sheep
Lime_Mercury
I got 9 in the first 48 hours (averaging about 1 in what I assumed to be 96), but now I've been in a tailspin and not got one in my past 900 or so kills. Nerffffffffffffffed  so there's this thread in p2p general called "the most annoying things ppl do on runescape" i am tempted to post "ya wen im cybering with a girl and they log off for no reason"

I agree, it makes perfect sense, they don't want D Boots to start at 10M first day.
daigotsu
I'm currently sitting at 5 pairs out of 800 mage kills; still have a couple prayer pots to use up, so I should get out of there around 900-950 kills. Hoping for one more boots. :D 1:100 was a pretty lucky early ratio, I think it averaged out to about 1:150-200 over time, and I don't believe the drop rate has been nerfed yet. Of course if this is the long-term drop rate, then (1) I stand corrected and (2) I have found a much better place for "money" training than TzHaar. Zaaps1
They'd be 200k if the drops keep this rate, so most likely Jagex will want to decrease the drop rate. ~It's Super Effective! MrBowser
I think 500k a pair is a good price, I myself enjoyed the panic attack sell-off of rune boots, I bought the two pairs I had never gotten around to getting. I think Jagex Is doing a 3-part ner[bleep]e. First, they make them have a ton, for maybe 2 weeks. Then, they reduce the drop rate by half, for till the end of September. Then, the reduce it by half again, and in 2 weeks reduce it by half again. That's 1-in-800 drop rate, assuming they started with 1-in-100. That's what it takes to be a hero, a little gemof innocence inside of you that makes you wantto believe that there still exists a right and wrong, that decency will somehow triumph in the end.--Lise Hand
aznmidget448
600-800k's probably a good amount. They probably want it to be around that so that only the people who work hard can get it... although I'm not sure if 800k's working hard... Silentone64
Jagex keep the rate high the first week to get the items in the economy, so RS has a chance to enjoy the update, after a nice flow of the item surface, the drop rate decreases and the price stays the reasonable price...depending on skill needed to obtain the item. The boot rate has been decreases i assure u
daigotsu
The boot rate has been decreases i assure u After I logged in again (see above post), boot drops at kill #824, #836, and #897 appear to put the lie to your statement. Star_Fox
i dont think dragon boots counts as a dragon drop. judging from the drop rate, i'd say it averages the same as boots from any other monsters. jagex probably wont nerf it at all. 700k for a pair sounds different though. :-k

andylax38
I haven't noticed a difference in there drop rate. Got two pairs when getting the 40 kc for zammy just yesterday. It's just unlucky that it has taken you that long to get a pair lately. The day God Wars came out it took me over 250 kills to get my first pair when people I know had already had 10 + drops. It's just all luck. ~>~Check Out My Bursting Guide~<~Current goals - 99 Slayer, 99 Summoning, 85 DungeoneeringAchieved goals - Quest Cape, 99 Strength, 85 Slayer, 99 Range, 88 Summoning, 90 Slayer, 99 Magic, 99 Farming

chenw
I havent noticed anything either, i have had a 600 dry streak before i got my second pair ON the week they were released, and i did a few over the weekend, i got 4 pairs in 16 pies, then i got 1 pair. so it is just plain luck. 6,924th to 30 hunting, 13,394th to 30 summoning, 52,993rd to 30 DivinationKiln Record (Post-EoC): W 25 - L 0, 14 Uncut Onyx, 8 Jad hits received (Best record: Two in the same kiln)Obby set renewed post update #2: 0QBD drops: 21 crossbow parts, 3 Visages, 1 Kites, 2 KitsMax Port Score [2205] Achieved: 27th April 2013 (World 2nd) Farmyard Rampage ranking: 12th, 50,000 Kills. Harrington
I don't know about the drop rates, but I've done about 50 slaying tasks since the update, and never have I been assigned those mages.... do I need to complete a quest or soemthing? aglips
Based on my recent trips to the mages, I haven't seen any change in drop rate. I got 11 d boot drops on Thursday with 613 kills, 3 boots next day killing around 400 and got 5 d boots last night killing 347 spiritual mages. It's all random and luck. I bring 12-14 P Pots(4) each time I go and stay there until my p pots run out unless my clan mates need me and I leave with some unused p pots. So far, it's been pretty fruitful for me.
