1) Speak proper english, no l33t sp34k here ;)

2) Woah, this thread is just stupid. Not all pures do that, i haven't heard of many who do that anyway.

That's ridiculous. I have never heard of someone selling off their pk pure yet. For the most part it's just to get an edge in pvp, which happens to be the funner part of runescape.

Life is a joke. Yeah, I don't get it either.

pures are normal players that neglect defense so that their offense stats give them an edge, not people out to sell gold. any self-respecting pure would rather keep the gold and brag to their friends

i mean some can if they want to

never said they do

im saying thats wat they can do with the money

No, no, no; you got it all wrong. People who are bored on their mains and have too much cash laying around create a noob account (ie. a pure) and drop trade to it. Rarely do you ever see a pure that actually makes a profit. The ranger sets, furies, etc they usually wear was drop traded from their mains. The wilderness is now full of these noobs (pures) who run around in monks, and if you manage to PK one of them, the best you can expect to get is a dds. You will waste more on supplies when PKing on a pure then you will actually make from loot. Sure, PKing on a pure was profitable when there were few of them, but now it's just a waste of time.

Same goes for staking; if you want to stake on a pure, then only other pures will stake you. The average non-pure (lvl 60-90) will not stake a lot. You do not make money on a pure, unless you are exceptionally skilled or very lucky.

So no, they are not the same thing.

Now adays, you can make a very good profit from pking if your good at it and if you stick to it. Also, people don't go around in monk robes. That's the "Obsidian Maul" and "Granite Maul" users. As I see it, most pkers are actually "Rune Pures".

Then i dont know what your seeing because yes there are a lot of rune pures but if you go to w18 theres way too many 1 def rangers / meleers.

As to making a profit by pking, thats only if you get a whip kill or dharoks, and those 1 def pures usually have protect item so you only get a dds or something. Higher leveled pkers usually have torso fire cape b gloves climbing boots and str ammy so if you pk them you get rune legs berserker helm/ neitiznot and rune boots if your lucky :|

Quit. PM me if you play The Conduit to exchange friend codes.

Where do you get the information that pures, and i mean ALL pures even sell their gp for RL cash, and even if some did, it would probably be like .1% of the entire pure population, and pking/staking is only profitable if you know how to do it properly, and usually, the new stakers being made lack experience, and fail. Gold Farmers are people who intentionally play the game to sell their items/gp for RL cash.

So, in conclusion, Pures are NOT the same as gold farmers. besides, what kind of gold farmer would spend hours on end training combat to enter a non-exact way to make money? I doubt they would when they could just start cutting yews for instant and exact profit.

Umm...what are you on? It must be strong...

If you go around in the wilderness for a while, you will almost NEVER see a pker who sells thier profit online. Pk pures are almost always multiples of somebody who is unbelievably bored and decides to take it out on other players (like me  )...

To me the difference is that pures sell mills for fun and leisure money.(yes, not all pures and stakers are like that i understand)

Gold famers do it because they have to feed their starving selves and children in high poverty regions of the world.

It's true. Pure Pkers don't sell their pked money for real life cash. It's the pure stakers that do that.

I don't mind though, they don't affect me other than the entertainment of seeing the "OMG I GOT B& 4 NUTIN"

Who amongst us who still plays RS "full-time" doesn't do one thing obsessively over and over again? All people with a 99 in anything have done so - are they the same as pures or Gold Farmers?

The nature of two actions, and the motives behind them are not at all similar. Pures do it for fun, Gold Farmers do it to earn money. Those two motives are as polarised as you can get.

It's basically like comparing chalk and cheese.

The only worthwhile pures who could be goldfarmers are the immensely powerful stakers. Hence, a large number of them are banned.

soulthresher.png

The most famous rs pure clan has many rmts amongst its members so its easy to see where the misconception comes from.

Not really that similar at all... And as a lot of people have already said, very very few pures actually sell their gold for real money. Gold farmers are another story altogether...

pures are normal players that neglect defense so that their offense stats give them an edge, not people out to sell gold. any self-respecting pure would rather keep the gold and brag to their friends

Well then, merchants and skillers can do the same thing.

A pure is someone who has used the combat triangle and forumula to make a character that is better at a certain type of fighting than normal players. This is done to make more gp and buy items that they need.

A gold farmer is a person who plays runescape only for economic gain, using any method possible. They do not play for fun, they do not add to the community.

~M

Although pures could sell their money online, they don't, and most don't make a pure account with the express intention to make real life money.

However, goldfarmers only make their account to make real l ife money.

I would say that Pures and Macroers are completely different things.

This is what happens for a pure:

Drop Trade Money/Items from main

Train Stats to "OWN"

Go Pkin/Staking and risk.

Lose and win at times, at no assured profit.

This is what happens for a macroer:

Go cut trees to 15 wc.

Go cut oaks to 30 wc.

Go cut willows to 60 wc.

Go cut yews until you get banned.

Make TONS of profit in total.

Of course, they both do destroy the economy, but pures don't do real world item trading like macroers. So, they aren't the same.
