Bananamatic
Guide to training at the Aberrant Specters Table of Contents 1)What is this all about? 2)Getting ready, recommended stats and gear 3)Getting there 4)Fighting them 5)Rewards 1)What is this all about? Aberrant Spectres,a Slayer monster that requires level 60 Slayer. They are Undead, level 96 combat with 90 hp and a Magic attack style. They are located in the Slayer Tower. They drop lava battlestaves, rune full helmets, half keys, level 3 clues, black mystic bottoms and LOTS of herbs and seeds. Picture(Credits to Tip.It bestiary) 2)Getting ready, recommended stats and gear You NEED 60 slayer to even hurt em,as well as a nosepeg, otherwise you can't hurt them and your stats get drained to 0 very fast. Recommended stats:95+ combat, with 60+ prayer to make it effective. Lower might work, but less efficiently. Take a full regular restore pot+Dbaxe,or a super attack+str. Also 5-10 Prayer potions(4) and Ectophial/Varrock tele runes/Kharyrll tele runes/Home tele runes,or tabs. Equipment:(Pictures later) Helmet:Nose Peg(needed) Body:Proselyte>Monk Robe>Initiate>God Vestments Legs:Monk Robe>Proselyte>Initiate>God Robe bottoms Boots:Dragon boots>Rune boots=Climbing boots>Adamant boots>White Boots Gloves:Barrows Gloves, best RFD gloves you can get pretty much. Otherwise gauntlets,or [bleep]ed vambs. Ring:Berserker/Warrior/Wealth,take your favourite. Cape:Fire Cape>Trimmed skillcape>God cloak>Other capes Weapon:Weapon of choice pretty much. Godsword,Whip,D scim,Saradomin Sword, maybe even Barrelchest Anchor. Shield:Rune defender>Toktz-Ket-Xil>Zamorak prayerbook(idk, maybe zammy book is better. Pick your favourite again, depending on your prayer) Amulet:Salve amulet(e)>Salve Amulet>God stole/Fury/Glory/Unholy Symbol 3)Getting there Use an Ectophial, walk from Varrock(NOT recommended),Kharyrll teleport, preferably a house portal. From there walk to the slayer tower,up the chain if you are 61 agility(confirm this),or past the Crawling Hands,Banshees,Infernal Mages and Bloodvelds. None of these are agressive. Map(Credits to Runescape official maps) 4)Fighting them Okay, before you pass the door, use Dragon Battleaxe special and drink a regular Restore Pot,turn your Magic Prayer on and start whacking,re-specing/potting when needed. Pick all Grimy Ranarrs,Irits,Kwuarms, and Cadantines-These are the p pot /super set herbs-Might save you a few hundred K's later. Pick Snapdragon Seeds aswell-30-40k each i think! If you run out of space, drop some less pricey herbs, preferably Irits. Or tele, bank, and go continue. 5)Rewards Lots of Lava staves,Rune full helms,Clues, and occassional Black Mystic bottoms. But this is training, right? With Salve Amulet(e),I have managed to get 27k exp within 30 minutes at 93 attack/91 str-Makes it 50k+ exp a hour, with enjoyable drops, sure profit, and less need to check your hp=) Check your prayer though-They can hit often and hard without it! If you get bored of Bandits and their horrible drops,or Slayer tasks are bad-Try this! I have 13 lava staves and 28 rune helmets banked atm-Not counting the countless free herbs! Ranarrs have ALWAYS returned to me,and even at lower stats, you should profit. I have mainly did this because of the Herblore update-No need to waste prayer and get carpal iding all the useless herbs, then dropping them. Pick which herbs you want right away! Credits go to Jagex for the Morytania and Slayer Tower maps,to the Tip.It bestiary for the aberrant specter picture and info about them.
Corn_corn2
Nice Guide. The only thing I can suggest it to have a picture of the Optimal Equipment. And possibly a picture of a full trips loot. 9/10 if its a rate as well... 8-)

Bananamatic
Proselyte legs give same bonus as Initiate and Monk. Thus, monk is best and gives 0 magic defence-Initiate/Proselyte gives negative,i think.
Matok
small comments about getting there: i sometime use the CKS fairy ring code, drops you near the mushroom patch, south of the tower. And ofcourse the [bleep]ed chain shortcut (level 61 agility required) right near the entrence, saves the long walk all around the tower... nice guide, and you are right, the Herblore update does makes things more convenient :D
Arthu
I wear: Nosepeg Karils top Karils bottom Dragon Scimitar (as I train strength) Rune Defender Dragon Boots RFD Gloves Saradomin cape Salve Amulet (e) Warrior Ring Invo: Dragon battleaxe, 1 super attack(4) 5 sharks, rest monkfishes. Monkfishes are way cheaper than pray pots, and at my level I get full invo of good herbs (irit+ always). So if you're high enough, you could try this, too. 99+ all 23rd March 2012 - 2496 total 13th June 2012.9000+ dragon drops! Including draconic visage, d chains, d spears, d2h, d claws, d meds, d legs, d skirts... d bones, d hides :)?I want jagex to put resource dungeons and dungeoneering skill doors to dungeoneering floors so I can dungeon and get dungeoneering xp while I dg so I don't have to dg to get dg exp, but I can dg while I dg :)? Madouge
Proselyte legs give same bonus as Initiate and Monk. Thus, monk is best and gives 0 magic defence-Initiate/Proselyte gives negative,i think. Proselyte gives better prayer bonus, onnly by +1 for each piece compared to initiate though, but definitely still worth it. Click the pic if you wanna see a Ranged Slayer blog. Cryptogram
I use the following Nose peg Karil's top > Black d hide top Black d hide chaps Barrows Gloves Infinity boots Fury amulet Orange elemental shield Whip and dds for specs Other 10 shark, 12 Monkfish or 13 lobbies Super attack and strength pots Ancients teleport to Canafis I have never used prayer pots at all and can usually fill my inventory with drops before my food runs out. The tele I use means I can run straight back. Just an alternative... Don't follow me. DRUMINATOR17
Everyone that loves using food to fight these abby spectres are obviously not doing them as a slayer task. And seeing as how I always train Using slayer, Ill post how I do these trips so as I dont have to bank Nosepeg Fire Cape Salve Ammy (e) Abyssal Whip Prosylete Platebody Unholy Book Prosylete Platelegs Barrows Gloves Dragon Boots Ring of Wealth 8 to 10 Prayer potions (depending on your prayer level) will last you a full high slayer task amount 175+ kills without having to bank. I only pick up Mystic bottoms, Lava Battlestaffs, Rune full helms, and rannar herbs and seeds and snapdragon seeds. Everything else is rubbish loot that slows me down from my slayer that I usually dont need as I do Managing the Kingdom mini game thing. UNIDS -> GRIMY HERBS UPDATE NOTE: Seeing as how you always know which herbs are ranarrs now, this is one of the faster slayer tasks you can do , Slayers love it, herblorists may not, but hell I never liked herblore anyways :-# CLICK - 770th to 99 SLAYER 2/4/08 - 204th to 99 Summoning 7/1/08 CLICK[Hide=List of Drops That I haven't updated in Years but want to keep in my Sig anyways...]VISAGE DROP - 12/06/073 Duo Sara Hilts, 3 Duo Arma Hilts, 2 Trio Arma Hilts.Dark Bows: (11) Dragon Boots: (50!)Whip Drops: (42!!!) Ethiery
Am I the only one who trains on these in Karils and an elemental shield? I mean, I am 99 mage so it may help but I don't find the prayer wasting needed. A man who doesn't read, is no smarter than a man who can't read.
