September 15, 200718 yr Ok, my best mate has decided that she is going to go out this weekend and get drunk, go to a party or two, whatever. Fine. I ask her on friday night, before she leaves, if she would like me to feed our horses. "Nah, thats cool, I reckon I'll be right." So I call her this morning to find out whats happening, and I get told "Hahahaha, I'm drunk, hahahaha, I cant do the horses, hahaha." I mean, am I overreacting here? Would it have been so hard for her to wait until after the horses were done, or call me, or do the horses before she started drinking? I dont mind doing them on my own, I mean, I offered in the first place, but geeze.. Thats just really made me furious. She'll be doing them on her own for the next few days, thats for sure.
September 15, 200718 yr Tell your best mate to FORK OFF! Seriously, though, if someone wants to get drunk, let them. Their choice, just do what you're susposed to, and make them deal with the consequences the following day. I dont need a siggy no moar.
September 15, 200718 yr Author Its just beyond me why you would do something like that :wall: But I wont be offering to do the horses again anytime soon :shame:
September 15, 200718 yr Author As much as I would like to I cant. The horses need to be fed. I cant justify punishing them because of her moment of stupidity.
September 15, 200718 yr She didn't say anything about feeding the horses. Just said she couldn't do them.

September 15, 200718 yr Author An early morning hockey game ensued that a few drinks were had by all. I wasnt there simply because its nice to have some time to ourselves with other people sometimes, as we live together, sometimes we see WAY too much of eachother..

September 15, 200718 yr So these are the trials and tribulations of country folk. :D Yeah i do not know what you're angry about. She got drunk and said she counld't feed the horses after you offered to. She was just taking you up on your offer a little later in the day? I don't know. I wouldn't really be mad. With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.

September 15, 200718 yr I own several horses myself and they are my responsibility so before I even go out they get looked after and even if I have a splitting head ache the next morning I will still get up and look after them. I personally would tell her exactly how you feel, just tell her that you think that when she is unable to look after them you should. In my opinion if she can't be bothered to look after her horses she should not have them at all.
