Quick guide to new altar !

Hello there.

 

 

 

Is the new altar good? In terms of XP in runecrafting without runners it is the best!

 

 

 

It is suggested that you read the official information in the Runescape knowledge base found here first.

 

 

 

 

 

So, what is the fastest way to do it?

A few people think that using the new bank is the quickest and best way, however that is not the case. The Lunar banking method described in this guide should be approximately 16% quicker!

 

 

 

- Set up your inventory

 

20 + Law Runes

 

20 + Astral Runes

 

Pouches

 

Fill the rest with pure essence.

 

 

 

- What should I wear?

 

Earth Staff / Lava battlestaff / Mud Staff (For unlimited earth runes, important)

 

Preferably Black Dragon hide top and legs to fend off most of the attacks.

 

Spottier cape, boots of lightness to reduce your weight.

 

 

 

So, how is the routine?

 

--------------------------------------------

 

Req: Lunar Diplomacy and 71 Magic

 

 

 

- So, Start of at Lunar Bank

 

 

 

- Use the new Teleport: Ourania teleport (Speak to Baba Yaga the first time to unlock it)

 

 

 

 

- WALK! a little bit south to the dungeon entrance and PRAY at the altar right next to it.

 

 

 

- Once inside the dungeon, start running south. See the picture for what prayers to use (if you need em). Remember that you can pray at an altar after each run so don't rush to turn it off. (in fact, just don't bother with it)

 

 

 

 

 

 

- When you get to the altar craft you runes

 

 

 

- Cast GROUP moonclan teleport, This is a great tool, it cost you the same amount of runes as regular moonclan teleport spell but it gives you more mage XP, and HELPS a lot of people that want to save a rune or two by getting a free tele.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I usually cast group tele all the time as I don't mind wasting runes, but I tried a few times to stand and wait for a free tele, and it took under 30 seconds to wait for one in all cases.

 

 

 

 

 

There you go, --Repeat!

 

 

 

 

 

Breakdown

 

Pros With Dungeon bank Method:

 

- No teleportation needed (Save 2 law runes and 4 astral runes)

 

 

 

Pros With Lunar Bank Method:

 

- No Misc runes pay (20 misc runes without pouches, 40 misc runes with 1-3pouches, 60 misc runes with 4 pouches)

 

- 16%* Faster rounds!

 

- Less time in the combat zone, resulting in less damage taken.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

FAQ - Frequently asked questions

Q: Do you get blood and soul runes?

 

A: Yes you get blood, soul, and astral runes as well occasionally. However, the higher your runecraft level is, the more likely is it that you get them instead of the basic runes!

 

 

 

Q: Do you need any talismans?

 

A: No tiara or talisman is needed

 

 

 

Q: Do you have to wear a seal of passage to bank at the lunar island?

 

A: If you have completed Dream Mentor you do not need the zeal of passage, if you have only completed lunar diplomacy however, you would need one!

This makes it very slightly faster exp than crafting fire runes. Using super energy you could obviously go faster by running longer.

I think I speak for all RCer's to be at 99 when I say "{cabbage} YOU JaGeX!" This makes my tireless hours of Rcing seem like a waste. True the random runes thing can be annoying, but 25k an hour? Without S Energies? HOLY {cabbage} this makes me so angry. I will go over to JaGeX HQ and punch the person who came up with this.

Compare that to 18k an hour WITH S energies. Yeah, that adds up, A LOT!

After a few rounds it seems to be very consistent, and by now it is the only way to craft blood and soul runes :) (Yes even at my low Runecrafting level I get them quite a lot.)

moonclan tele is ''one-click tele''. Tbh, rings or ammys are just as good, but require re-charging or buying new-ones.

- Casting the spell is quicker than using glory/rings.

 

- You don't save any room, as you already have the runes required in your inventory. (From casting Ourania teleport)

 

- You don't waste time recharging glories

 

- You don't waste time getting dueling rings (and withdrawing from bank/equipping)

 

- You help other people by casting group teleport

 

- You will end up with more astral and law runes than you use anyway, so you never need to restock.

 

- Oh and the moonclan tele is very close to bank. :) And since you are already on lunar anyways, it is the quickest and most hassle free option.

You're not under attack at the altar so you can use any Teleport method that you want. Moonclan Teleport is easy to use since it uses the same Runes as the Ourania Teleport.

Great guide, but I figured this exact method out on my own :P Although it took me a while to realize that tele group costs the same as tele one moonclan, so I started using that and am getting a lot of 'thx'es :)

well, as any runecrafter who uses abyss should know, you can just use 28 glories and you won't lose much time using them.

Besides that, if you want to use dungeon bank, you can just do it by teleing to ourania again after completing a round... you can hardly lose 16 percent of speed there, nor be in more combat

You need to give away one more space for fire runes or something so you can be sure to bank when you come back. (Unless you are rich and bank with law or astral runes, but that seems rather useless as if you are rich you will pay for runners instead of using this method)

 

 

 

- 1 space

 

 

 

You will not gain time using the dungeon banking as you get the pay to bank screen up twice (as you need to pay every time you enter the bank). (First time to fill pouches, then to fill inventory)

 

 

 

- No time gain

Also, why do you want to use glorys? You don't gain any inventory space and it just slow you down as teleporting to moonclan is quicker than operating your glory. And that bit is already discussed on page 1 in this topic. :-s
