Doors!!(and the noobs who close them)

Featured Replies

Now, I've always found door-closers to be somewhat annoying, but not incredibly so.It just slows people down a bit. But, what if someone gets a random?Today, im crafting ammys in al-kharid, and i get an evil chicken random. Im not wearing any armour or weps. So, i decide to run.(i was browsing the forums and when i switched back i had half health)

Someone on the other side of the door is closing it, and i can't get the (bleep) out!!I keep trying to open the door until i get to really low health, i swicth on mage protect, and i get out of tehre with 8hp left. They should amke all doors non-closeable, like teh bank doors!!

Yeah, those would be little kids without enough intelligence to figure out how to actually play the game, so they go around annoying people for fun. There was already a thread on this a while ago, though.

Yes Jagex did try preventing door spammers by making a 1 second delay between the opening and closing of doors.

However, many players with slow connections can't get through the doors even with the second delay because of lag. Jagex should have made a longer delay time IMO.

Don't all doors get stuck after about 10 open-closes.....?

^ LIES! ALL LIES!!!!!

Thank God for tip.it.. "Can i has money?"

"No, sorry. Im broke myself"

"Noob! *runs*"

in rsc there was a close limit or something because after a mass-ban autoers auto closed doors and locked people in banks, lol, they should do that on rs2 aswell (say like 3 closes in 30 seconds = 10 second locked open).

Then how would I kill all those macroers? The ones that wonder around a room then head towards the door? If you close the door, the macroer dies. They often cannot even open the door on their own. So the macro no longer works because all of a sudden its back in lumbridge with no more stuff and no idea how to get to where it belongs. Once I found a macro that wandered in a patter similar to the furnace in Al Karad and said "33" every so often. Highly amusing, I have killed plenty just by closing the door and watching them die.

I care about the fact that ATM regular players can die to randoms due to the door stuff, than about macroers being able to be trapped, macros can auto open doors but regular players can't escape if some jerk decides to close the door when they get caught with no prayer near an evil chicken =;

I don't know about you guys, but i care more about real players the about macroers, or ppl who try to kill them.(i appreciate it, but i'd rather there be no macroers)

But it was annoying but fun to do :P

Fun at the expense at other's misery, that's how their mind works.

Strangely with WotLK so near, I wished I could delay it a bit to push through that last TBC content in MH/BT :'(.

Whats wrong with a little misery?

triforceelf.png

I have done this to people before :-k

But they wernt dieing.

Why don' t you people just take your nature runes, your noted goods and your fire staff and high alch somewhere door free? The RSOF has had alot of theese complaints, I just dunno why won' t people just high alch somewhere quiet. Really. But no, not all the doors have this safety mechanism. Like let' s say, the Zamorakian church near the wilderness has that, and a few and that' s it. I think only the door scamming hotspots have this.

Not too long ago, a similar thread with 10 or so pages died.

Entitled; 'Door noobs'.

Theres' no need for another.

In my opinion, some1 killing you by continuously closing a door while a random is attacking, is just as intelligent as pking someone.

In fact, it takes more skill to kill some1 by closing doors than pking because you actually have to do the work killing him, unlike pking where you just watch and ocassionly eat some food, run, or use pots.

Probably planned on killing you as it seems.

He kept closing the door so you couldn't get out and the chicken would kill you, then he opens the door, and takes your stuff.

well thats actually fun to do and im sure quite a handful of ppl would have done it just for the kick of annoying people...sure it make cause some inconvenience but you cant expect runescape to be a utopia where everyone has good manners and is considerate...i mean like what the editor's post said recently, that is the reality in life: some ppl are just annoying and do that just to let off steam and get some laughs and kicks out of it. not everyone you will meet in life is gonna be super nice to you so live with it. :P

Hello friend, Senajitkaushik was epic, Good luck bro.

i have to admit though, one time i did trap some guy who was dying to a random in the castlewars lobby due to being cocky (he ignored mr hyde, tried to fight it then died), i felt bad afterwards though, he shouldve just ran into a team but he tried running out the doors, all he lost was a brass necklace though

theres an update now.

if you close/open the door alot of times it will stop and this message will appear

"the door seems to be stuck"

just tested it.

Yea but we're talking about BEFORE.
