I'm really sad about the elephants. They could have played such a huge role, but they're just a novelty for one map :(

I know. A really useful novelty, though. Plus, when driving, you are invincible to all but assassination. You can be lasered, rocketed, have frag grenades chucked at you (maybe not plasma or [bleep]e), tank'd, run over a field of trip mines or even be in the flying elephant and your shields won't even flicker.

The language version doesn't matter much. I have the French version (my English one broke) and it only speaks french when playing the campaign (during cutscenes/background voices/etc.). Anything else (user interface/online/etc) is english.

I know it usually doesn't matter, and I speak french decently, but it didn't have subtitles, and I had no idea what the hell was going on. so I returned it and got the english version.

you guys know if the legendary pack is gonna be free? i might be buying some points for the ME DLC but i dunno if its gonna be a waste paying for the map pack with the spare points

I beat the campaign. The ending confused me a bit. But I didn't get the whole ending people got in the limited edition. so. I looked it up on youtube, and watched it. It makes slightly more sense to me now.

Oh, and Avalanche is possibly the best map on Halo 3. There's just something about it I love. Probably the fact that it is awesome for any objective game, and I do love objective games. mumm_ra, how much do you play Halo now? I'm seeing you online quite a bit, or at least whenever I am (Rarely) online.

sanbox is the coolest forge map ever but i still love avalanche

HA grifball is awesome. i got a killtastrophe in one of the games, almost crapped my pants, then in a later game i got a killpocalypse. i was aiming for a killionaire, but i lost my touch, i'll probably have another go at it tomorrow.

 

 

 

also, killtastrophe = 8 kills in 4 seconds, killpocalypse = 9 kills in 4 seconds, killionaire = 10 kills in 4 seconds.

I have Halo Wars (assuming this is the thread for it), and I suck at it. I made this huge army at my first base stop, with seemingly all the advancements for my Marines, Warthogs, two Scorpions, and a Cobra, but no, it all got destroyed on my very first encounter with a Covenant base. Could someone tell me how not to suck at this game?

Is Halo Wars any good? Playing the demo it wasn't that great of a game.

Yea, it's pretty good, especially considering that it's console and actually manages good controls. I'm still evaluating asting appeal; only two skirmish gametypes besides campaign, but theres Live and all that.

I get Halo Wars tomorrow as it came with my 360, once I get used to how to play I'll try live.

Yea it's the first one on the list lol. A one vs. one map and is a medium sized map I'd say. Its a good game whether you like the Halo series or not. The skulls are pretty sweet, and the Halo timeline has told me things I've never known... I'd also recommend the Halo books :thumbsup: good reads.

I'm being a noob here, but does anyone here play the Halo 1 trial? (Downloadable from microsoft, not sure if it still works) It's for the pc. I don't own an xbox 360, nor a xbox anyway. And, I've tried Halo 2 on my friend's xbox, not used to the controls, still prefer wasd. Plus it's expensive. No Halo 3 for the pc I think.

I'm pretty sure they're considered more to be graphic novels, or at least there are some graphic novels. Come to think of it, I think there's both graphic and regular novels for Halo. Both are considered canon as far as I know.
