I know there are probable tons of rants about p mods but after what i saw today i had to make this. Today in edgeville bank a lvl 95 p mod is following around a lvl 123 with god sword shouting out "Phr33 St00f Pl0X"

 

How hard is it to find good p mods that dont beg and actually use there powers to help the game. :wall:

1. It could have been a joke. Don't take it so literal.

 

2. Player moderators aren't under any real obligation to do their job 24-7. They're essentially volunteering their own free time, but sometimes they need a break and a bit of release too.

 

3. It can be very hard to find a good Player Moderator since not every Player Moderator can be seen as "good" by more than one person. I could go into a giant spiel into this, but I already have in another thread, so I'll just link to it here at the bottom and leave it at that.

It's a joke most likely. Don't take it literal. If they said, "Phr33 St00f pl0x?", it's most likely a joke.. You really can't expect Player Moderators to be like robots and report people 24/7.. They play RuneScape too.

it's about p-mods. everyone has to take it literally, because it's a bad influence to have them joking around and NOT muting scammers.

I would agree with the above and say it was a joke probably. They are just humans you know (well, they should be :S). Also player moderators don't have to help you. They are allowed to play the game just like everyone else, the only difference being that that have been 'good', so they get rewarded.

Most definitely a joke. P-mods are just like every other player in-game. We like to joke around and have a good time. Some people don't think that we should because we "should be working". If that's all we could do, I wouldn't have become one.

Most people I see saying phr33 st00f pl0x are making jokes and as someone previously stated, P-mods arent required to do their "voluntary duties" all the time.

How many times a day do you really see people say "Phr33 st00f pl0x?" I mean when ever someone really does it they are playing. Mods can play around just like us, stop taking everything head on. :!:

Some mods are the nicest people I've ever met in the game, as a matter of fact most of them are awesome. That doesn;t mean ALL of them are, some of them could be lowlifes that reported EVERYTHING just to become one no matter how minute it was. Some of them are high on themselves. Whatever the case may be, they shouldn;t be referred to as "them" or in some cases on here "we".

If someone is saying 'free stuff please' in 1337, then you can be certain they are joking.

The problem with being a P mod is that you are under constant scrutiny, and even something fairly innocent can turn into a big hulaballo because people either dont know how to take a joke or because you really acted inappropriately and left an impression. Such is the life of a SUPER STAR \

Where is bobbington! :P He always seems to pop up in these types of rants(particularly directly mentioning moderators).

Well that about sums it up. I'll have to put my part though.

 

 

 

Most player mods are actually very approachable, friendly, and funny(as you've seen in this situation) people. They are specifically chosen for their well-mannered behavior, low blackmark record, and the amount and quality of the report queries they send in(feel free to add anymore).

 

 

 

If you see a porposefully rude moderator then you should report him if he happens to break any rules. The fault, in my opinion, lies in jagex for choosing that moderator; but the actual moderator should also take part of the blame. You will rarely come across any rude moderators.

You can report any Player Moderator you feel is acting unmodly, or who is breaking rules under offensive language and I feel strongly that Jagex will have a word with them. If Jagex knew they would do that... they probably wouldn't have modded that person.

 

 

 

Keep in mind, it could have been two friends fooling around.

Define "unmodly".

Unmodly - Not the way a mod should act. Begging for free stuff seriously, following players purely to annoy them, shouting things that, while not innapropriate altogether, are not things a mod should be shouting, that kind of stuff.

 

 

 

Keep in mind though that just because they don't lead you all the way to varrock from ardougne, or give you 25k, or because they steal your coal rock dosn't make them unmodly.

I think they're just lazy and want everthing handed to to them on a silver platter.

I'm gonna support everyone else here. We mods are just players, but players people pay a bit more attention to. Some guy was being an idiot and asking me for free stuff, so the minute he stopped I returned the favor. ^_^ Theres nothing wrong with a bit of joking around.
