There is a somewhat common phrase on the Rate This! forums, "Nobody is perfect". That is basically saying that everyone is imperfect. Isn't imperfect, by definition, not being perfect? So in order to be imperfect, perfect must be defined? :-k

I am nobody.

You should know, there is no such thing as perfection.

 

A circle never is always smooth.

Especially for mankind.

 

Perfection is smoothness in every detail.

 

Smoothness in every step, word, no errors.

 

No evil etc.

 

Only if you define perfection as a part of it.

 

Getting a 10 for one test. And If you only watch at the number, not the writing of it etc.

 

Then you can say that your current test you just made had all the good answers I needed. It was not to much, because I didn't ask for it.

 

And not less.

 

Mankind should not think about perfection.

 

We only can improve.

 

And there is allot of improvement to do and that has to be done.

Perfection is basically free from any flaws.

personally i think the human race is perfect because of its imperfections. i think theres a phrase for it...

Perfect is unattainable. An example of this is Pi. Pi is an irrational number, a non terminating, non repeating decimal that is that way because a circle is not perfect. A perfect circle would have an exact ratio, and Pi would be rational. But if you think of a circle as merely an infinite amount of infinitely large angles, you will see that these angles can only get bigger and bigger, unendingly. Perfection is never achieved.

 

 

 

If perfect can't be achieved with math, it surely can't be achieved any where else.

 

 

 

Hopefully I explained that well. I'm no math professor either, I hate math actually, but concepts like this I understand and actually rather enjoy.

I think there is such a thing, especially in sport.

 

For example the #1 Athletes when they are in their top form, in their sport they have perfected their game, watching Rodger Federer's backhand, David Beckhams free-kicks, Asafa Powell's 100m race etc

 

 

 

Now I know they don't do them perfect every single time but the one time they do do it, it's perfect.

"10" is what everyone strives for, in my mind 9.9 is the highest amount of perfection you can have, 10 is just something that does not exist, but everyone wants. If you get what I am saying :-k

Sounds more like a tongue twister than a theory.

Perfection cannot be defined. Imperfection is perfection. Take the tower of pisa, it is imperfect to common standards, but it is what makes it perfect. Just as the same way you could fall in love with someone, and some of their imperfections strangely make them even more attractive.

Actually, I think perfect darkness might be possible in real life within certain definitions:

 

- Light as the presence of photon particles.

 

- Darkness as the absence of light, making perfect darkness the complete absence of light.

 

 

 

Now, if it were technologically possible to remove all photons from a container made from a material that can't be penetrated by photons and then seal that container, wouldn't the inside of that container be perfect darkness? Considering the way quantum physicists can juggle particles, I think that the former might be technologically possible, and there are plenty of materials that block all photons.

The initial statement is disproven by the fact that I exist.

Perfect would be something flawless. Like a poem, if it has constant metric, perfect rhythm and perfect rime. Or a sentence, if it has no spelling or grammar mistakes. Or maths. It's not that hard to see perfection on some little things. Sadly, you can't find this in humans.

if something is as easy as pie, and you imply that pie is the easiest thing, does this mean that you are calling this thing that you are doing pie?
