I'm rather surprised no one mentioned this game.

 

 

 

Hellgate London is a FPS/RPG made by Flagship Studios. Flagship Studios is a team of game developers mostly comprised of ex members of Blizzard North, the team that made the Diablo series. Some of them are legends of the gaming developer community.

The game isn't out yet, it will be released on Halloween. However, I've been an alpha tester, and I'm in the beta testing now, so I can tell you the game rocks, and it will rock even more once it's out.

I use to play D2, so i've been following this since the end of 2005 or so

 

 

 

I preordered it a short while ago and actually got my beta key on email today

 

 

 

Biggest up for me is marksman's fps style, esp. manual sniping

Btw have they decided about how their payment method is going to be like? I never really found out what it was (cost wise) other than a free/paid version.

Well, all testers are bound by the Non-disclosure agreement, which means I can't tell you a single thing that isn't already public knowledge, or on the website. I can however say that the game owns. :D

Good that they're taking advantage of DX10...

 

 

 

However, I have to note that the main selling point appears to be their "brand new RPG experience" - which to me sounds like what's already been done by games like Deus Ex, Oblivion and System Shock 2.

 

 

 

But hey, Diablo meets SS2. Can't complain about that.

 

 

 

I swear it'd get better sales if it was a Warhammer 40k game, though.

Its not bad, a lot like diablo 2 except in 3D.

 

 

 

The demo isn't too terribly big but what I saw so far was nice.

Ya i was kinda surprised that no one mentioned this or assassin's creed (maybe they did i didn't look very hard : ) I don't know which one out of these two will be better. Assassins creed brings something into the gaming community that no other game has ever, or at least in my lifetime. It has changed the way you control your character* (will this way stick, maybe, maybe not) and hellgate london just looks awesome. In general this year has been a good year for gamers. Halo 3, Fallout3, Assassin's Creed, Hellgate, not to mention countless of others (note: some of these games havent been released again)

 

 

 

So ya, after re-reading it it seems as if i'm writing in a topic about assassins creed, lol :) but hey, that game is good too.

 

 

 

 

 

* you control your character by each button controlling a certain body-part, like on a 360 controller, a would mean move left legs, b would be move right leg, etc. This is a very, very, brief explanation of how you control your character in assassins creed.
