Infinite Stock

Locutus_Of_Borg

NOTICE:

As soon as I finish checking the update on the prices and shops, I will edit this thread.

Nearly every shop now has infinite stock. Only a select few don't and that's because their stock contained only player-sold items in the first place.

-Will this truly solve the store-bot problem or will it just adapt and find

another way to abuse the game?

Please remember people, I'm talking about STORE-bots. This update was created to stop them. How well has it done?

-As a RuneCrafter, I'm worried that I will no longer be able to merchant my wares.

All lower RuneCrafters will not make any fast money if they choose to hire runners.

As I am not a member, I don't know the full extent to any of any member item commodities. If you have any please post them.

Please share your insights on what major problems most likely will arise and if it's worth the problems it solves.

All life begins with Nu and ends with Nu...

This is the truth!

This is my belief!

...at least for now.

-Should there be such a massive change in the RuneScape community?

Sure why not.

-Will this truly solve the store-bot problem or will it just adapt and find

another way to abuse the game?

Jagex seems to believe it will, only way to find out is to wait and see.

-Will they go start buying out all the feathers in the Fishing Store, or will that be infinite as well? If it is, that would affect the Fletching market as well.

Again, this is a question only answered after the update takes place.

-Should there be such a massive change in the RuneScape community?

Meh, changes happen all the time, look at the dragon boots.

-Will this truly solve the store-bot problem or will it just adapt and find

another way to abuse the game?

They will adapt. It' s not that hard to just rewrite a program.

-Will they go start buying out all the feathers in the Fishing Store, or will that be infinite as well? If it is, that would affect the Fletching market as well.

I' d say feather merchanting would wanish, since anyone could buy feathers easilly.

-As a RuneCrafter, I'm worried that I will no longer be able to merchant my wares.

Trade runes for ess and a bit of cash.

Should there be such a massive change?

Maybe, maybe not. Only time can tell.

Will this solve the bot problem?

No. Nothing will. Will it lessen it? Hopefully.

Will they go start buying out feathers or will they become infinite?

I dunno. But it sure as hell would be nice if they did.

Rune crafter cash flow?

Obviously JagEx doesn't give a damn about anyones cash flow, just look at the pure essence update.

This update looks to be rather nice, and people will still buy runes en mass to save cash and or time, so I don't see this causing to much harm.

No not massive change might be a little maybe some runes will go up in price(natures)

-Will this truly solve the store-bot problem or will it just adapt and find

another way to abuse the game?

They are going to jack the price so it's no way profitable to anyone not even macros.

-Will they go start buying out all the feathers in the Fishing Store, or will that be infinite as well? If it is, that would affect the Fletching market as well.

Never though of feathers but mostly likely since feathers would only give 3gp each profit it wouldn't be worth it. But maybe they'll make feathers 10gp each or something.

As a RuneCrafter, I'm worried that I will no longer be able to merchant my wares.

The Price of the shop vs. the price of rcers would be a 50-100gp each difference making it more a need to buy from runecrafters.

I'm more concerned about the first question: will this affect us. All the previous answers are either ambiguous or not well explained.

The question of "will there be a change in price" is based on what the shop's prices are. (as long as they are sufficiently above the equilibrium price there will be next to no effect) and I believe that they are all high enough for the prices not to affect us, although it wouldn't hurt to double check.

Does anyone know what's the SHOP price of a nature rune?

This is basically an idea by JaGex to stop certain types of autoers. Many people are thinking of the effects it will have on the economy but it really is just an anti-macro scheme implemented by JaGex. ::'

No worries here, just hope the market doesn't get completely flooded with one item pushing the prices lower and lower.

Looks like, for nats anyways, they put the price up high. So price of nats has actually risen! Probably due to people/autoers who buy nats from shops now cannot make any profit. I'm just surprised there were so many.

Same thing for every other rune it seems.

But you see, if prices do go up, like if the shop sold deaths for 400ea now, you'll most likely see people selling deaths at 375ea instead of 300ea. Same for airs. RuneCrafters will realize that with them being the cheapest source of runes, they'll be able to raise prices leaving others without choice. If the shop begins to sell airs 25ea, airs will be 20ea going up 5gp.

I know, it's just I didn't expect that many nat autobuyers.

This is just a decrease in supply then followed by a change in the supply curve overall if you want to look at it graphically, where the slope becomes horizontal after the Shop price kicks in, but since the shop price is above equilibrium it doesn't matter.

This is probably totally confusing without a graph, but I'm too lazy to draw one <.<

Haha now the chaos price is lower than the street price :XD: oh wait, now chaos runecrafting took a blow. Actually, the whole rune market took a blow. If someone wants fast runes and doesn' t want to search for the right name in some overcrowded world, he can just buy some runes for a litlle higher price. I mean cmon, never ending supply of airs for 17 ea? Now the max price of 20 es is busted...

Ouch, the air prices just killed me.

At my current level of 60 RC, I had to sell airs at 18.33ea to break even.

As it turns out, only RuneCrafters level 66+ will now benefit from this, as they can sell for 16ea and still make money.

I'm still checking prices on other non-member item commodities. I'll update the beginning thread soon.

I had a rant here about aiir rune prices a few weeks ago called The Air Rune Market. No one sympathized....I am afraid you and i are in the same boat. lvl 59 rc and and still cannot break even.

Well, yeah, if you are a buyer of runes and essence....it will hurt you. But all in all, I think it is not that bad. Only merchanters have to "rethink" how to sell their wares, since they are the ones selling. Outside of that, if you are not a merchanter (like me) it bothers you not.

No, it will not solve the bot problem. Nothing will, people in China, or whereever, need to eat! Furthermore, there will always be cheaters no matter where you go. Some people live off of looking for the quickest road to riches.

Will they go start buying out all the feathers in the Fishing Store, or will that be infinite as well?

Feathers are infinite....so yea. Too bad for feather gatherers.

Now...my turn....

I love the update from the "runes" aspect. Unlimited amount of runes makes me happy. However....Jagex needs to do something about that battlestaff problem. Sure...F2P has nothing to worry about as this is a member problem. Battlestaves are now EXTREMELY hard to obtain. So, crafters take a blow as this was one easy way to craft without fighting dragons. I am curious to see how Jagex "fixes" this, if they even intend to.

personally, im not so much worried about the runes as i am about vials.

before this, my main method of making money was through water filled vial merchanting. it was beautiful. i could go to the farming shop, but all the plant cures i wanted, empty them, then fill them with water and sell them for 150gp profit per vial. now the vials are set to infinite, which means that the huge demand for them will now go down. i mean, sure, we can still sell water filled vials for a bit of profit, but it will probably only be for something like 20 or so gp extra.

now i have to find a new method of making money. it will be tough to find something that can make me 100k in a half an hour without too much effort or skill :(

I'm suprised at the amount of people who seemed to make money with vials, just craft a few thousand natures, they have actually had an increased price because of this update.

That was another one of my predictions would be the raise in price for some runes.

Please share your insights then that don't require millions of gp to start, eg. merchanting rares.

They will just continue to woodcut/mine Rune Essence.

No, autoers won't do that. If they sell for higher, nobody will buy. It would be much easier to buy from the Fishing Store.

Just sell for less. You will get a lot of customers.

yes, please tell me how i can now go about making over 200kgp an hour with a starting capital of around 20k. if you can manage to explain a valid, tested, proven and consistant way of doing this, i will personally appear to you in game and bow at your feet and worship you for as long as youd like.
