I know it's a bit early for most of ya, but it's already snowing up here, and I just couldn't resist...

 

Do any of you ski? Snowboard? Or just sled?

 

I started out snowboarding about 4 years ago, took 1 year off, and have been skiing for the last 2 years. The city that I live in has no roads out of it, but we are lucky to have one of the best small ski areas in the world. Actually, at one point last winter, we had the most snow of any ski resort in the world! Hoping for more of the great powder this year, I guess 40 feet just wasn't enough. :)

I learned how to ski and I didnt like it very much so I thought I might try out snowboarding. It was really hard at first but im a little better than when I started 2 years ago. But the only thing is that I can only go maybe twice a year because there arent any resorts for maybe 4-5 hours.

It's summer and it don't snow here :D

Snowboarding if I can. Never really get the chance to though, only time I did was when I lived in Europe. Hopefully I will get the chance this winter though. :P

I love snowboarding. Unfortunately, with hockey, I rarely have time to do it, but when I get out I get out for a long time. I'm taking a year off hockey next year to snowboard more (my parents are gonna buy me a new board too =D).

I ski and snowboard whenever i get the chance. I usually go to Switzerland once a year and go to the cairngorms now and again

Hope its gonna freeze hard here in the Netherlands, it is been about 5 years ago since I skated on ice for the last time. It already freezed a half degree yesterday and its only autumn yet : So i keep hoping :lol:

Come winter, im gonna go skate the Rideau Canal from my campus, all the way to downtown ottawa.

I got to go skiing once. It was very enjoyable and I was doing about medium blues well by the end of the day :)

When I was a young lad, I went to Munich, Germany for vacation. I took skiing lessons. It was awful. They had us WALK up a 35 degree incline in our skis , instead of letting us take the lift, they weren;t very informative or helpful, and I crashed into a building.

I ski about 3 times a week in the winter..waiting for snow up here in the true north.

Marathon skating (>200km) is where it's at :D

Snowboard team for my school :D . Soo much fun.

It snowed here in Finland, but it was so warm that it didn't hold. I can ski, skate, and this year I decided to try snowboarding.

 

 

 

BTW, Helsinki (Capital of Finland for those of you not in the know) has almost the same latitude as Anchorage.

IT neva snows here :P

Do snowball fights count as a winter sport? lol. About the only winter sport I participate in really.

 

 

 

They recently opened an indoor ski slope near where I live. Always meant to check it out, but just haven't gotten around to it. Seems like most winter sports here require some kind of qualification/training course before you're allowed to do it unsupervised. :(

I'm a pretty good skiier. It's our national sport after all. I used to go skiing for a week or two every year. This year i didn't however. I hope there will be an opportunity this winter =)

I skied for a few years and then switched to snowboarding...Boarded for like 2 years then bought my own, very nice $600 board.

 

 

 

...Haven't used it since I bought it. :( It hasn't snowed good enough here in Minnesota for like 5-6 years. Even if it snows great this year (it won't, it was like 6 degree's yesterday and it's almost November...It should be snowing by now...) I probably won't be able to go.

 

 

 

Might as well sell the thing. :P Problem with THAT is that it's an older model by now, so no one would probably want it.

I used to live there! (MN Twins, MN Vikings, MN Wild FTW!)

 

I was there last in 2005, in Alexandria just with some relatives (none of us actually live near there) we went skiing, and the snow was just perfect- -1, 0 degrees C, so the snow had a great grip.

Got a few resorts 1-3 hours from where I live, also been on ski trips to bigger resorts with my family. Also on my school ski/snowboard club, so I go every thursday starting in January, it's so much more fun with friends lol

 

 

 

And of course, being a Canadian and all, I play hockey in the winter :P

Hmm...does air rifle practice in the winter count? I got nothing else :oops:

 

 

 

Aw man, that just made me realize: we practice in what is essentially a storage house, like a warehouse I guess, but with nothing in it, no heating, probably little insulation, and we have a door open the whole time....^@$#....
