There's no real way for them to fix manipulation. the only thing i could see them doing is changing prices based on what they see in the economy, instead of the GE doing it automatically, and adding items if one is bought out. or just removing the price limits outright *prays* if there was no +/- 5% bull[cabbage] then there would be no manipulation. there would be some, but not much. but they would be allowing some RWT. and what they need to do to stop those CC fraud crap is not accept IP's from china or any of the asian countries, or something of that stuff. but since i dont see that happening anytime soon, they're going to just keep the GE the way it is and probably impliment stronger buying/selling restrictions on items. All you need is more members if tighter restrictions are made, still meaning there's no real way to stop it at all. I'd like for someone to be able to come up with an acceptable fix, then I read what Mark says as true. They may say they will fix it, but I don't see that happening any time soon. Close down the manipulating cc's, I say. But, channels outside of Rs are untouchable so to speak unless they get the network admins to clamp down, too. Banning alot of the popular ingame manipulating chats would solve some of it. Also with tigher GE limits on popular items like armour and weapons. Noone needs 2 SGS's in less than 4 hours and such making manipulating big items very hard. Making it clearly stated as item scamming will also ward off alot of the new people trying to make money a very sad way. It also should be treated like item scamming where people get banned for it temp and if continued offences of it should be perm banned. Also a very low tolerence rate like they did with penguin banning would send a message. Not to mention listing how many people got banned for it. I'm sure they'll find something to do as they do see it as a problem. If they can track penguin points I am for sure they can track who is buying and selling alot of items on the GE so they can do something and if it bans alot of people I could care less it is a very sad way of making money. They will do something I can asure you that. What they will do I have no idea nor to I intend to badger Mod MMG about it. Like this: Items worth 10m+: 1 per 24h period Items worth 5m-10m: 1 per 12 hr period Items worth 2.5m-5m: 1 per 6 hr period Items worth 1m-2.5m: 2 per 6 hr period Items worth 500k-1m: 2 per 4 hr period Items worth 250k-500k: 5 per 4 hr period Items worth 100k-250k: 10 per 4 hr period Items worth <100k: 100 per 4 hr period Raw resources: 10000 per 4 hour period This may seem strict, but it almost completely destroys the "buy-out/sell-out" scheme that merchanting clans use. There are few items worth over 1m that people need multiples of immediately. And it will also discourage merchanting, because if clans buy out an item and push the price up beyond the next threshhold, they'll become stuck with those items, unable to liquidate them at a fast pace. As for the runescape communication thing I said it would solve some of it. I'm sure Jagex has censors smart enough to realise who is in a clan and buying out items and who is just trying to make a buck by solo merchanting. I'm 100% sure they can reduce it greatly. They have ways I'm sure of that and I won't doubt their ability to fix a huge problem in the game was most clans scam other players into buying items at above mid when the leaders bought at mid or lower and the leaders sell early to the people trying to buy the item out still then the none clan leaders get stuck with useless junk and lose millions. That is scamming as defined by the rules.
