No but really, I'm hoping for some sort of graphical update. If you're a member the content on RS is already so much I think they can not update it for a year and most people would still have quite a lot to do still. RS is already superior to most MMO's with gameplay, so I think graphics is the only thing that it needs for true awesomeness.

 

 

 

Or perhaps they'll go nuts and stop using java and team up with Valve and code RS using Source and deliver it through Steam. Maybe.

 

 

 

It would be insane if Java teamed up with Valve and Runescape was a valve game and I can access it through steam :D

when u think about the time and effort put into it, it can be an amazing let down, assuming its not done properly. if its JUST rain and other things wow thats lame. if it was tornados occasionally or something id say it was a very creative update, maybe not the best but id be mildy impressed not to call it a bad update.

It would lag the hell out of the game; Java can't support something like that.... It would be like world 2 falador, everywhere, if people could summon NPCS.

 

 

 

I think it'll either be the expansion to the east (Asian-themed lands), the "high level island", or the release of MechScape.

 

 

 

they said this was big i'd assume its for all players and not just for the high levels and they said update so that means rs mechscape won't release for awile :?

There are plenty of good suggestions, but I think most don't count. Now don't kill me over this, I'm just trying to look at it in another way.

 

 

 

We can savely assume this is going to be big (very big), since Jagex has never hyped an update as much as this one and they said it was going to be 'very, very big'. :P Thinking about that, I feel several of the ideas from this thread are not valid.

 

 

 

New banking system:

 

For a long time while I was still playing Runescape, I've been hoping they would introduce a new banking system, hoping it would be something similar to **UPDATED** New Bank Of Runescape **UPDATED**.

 

 

 

But think about it, would this be a huge update? In a way, yes, it would, but in another way it wouldn't. To the players of Runescape it would have a big impact, but how much time would the TB@JT really have to invest to make something like this? In my opinion, not a whole lot. So in that sense, it wouldn't be a huge update that they should be very proud of.

 

 

 

A new continent:

 

Now this could potentially be HUGE. But.....

 

I don't feel like this is it either. Though it could be very big, it isn't something groundbreaking. In theory (assuming it would just be the release of a new landmass and maybe a couple of quests) there isn't anything special about it except that it's a whole lot of updates cramped together. Now I know it sounds stupid, that such a huge update wouldn't be special, but think about it. It just a whole bunch of updates at the same time. I don't think they would tell us they were proud of that, it is big, but not that special.

 

 

 

Weather system, sun, moon etc:

 

I don't think so. It would be a big update, but it wouldn't impact us that much unless they implemented things like losing hp in a blizzard or something like that.

 

 

 

And a sun, well... It's a nice idea, but the way the camera works right now, there wouldn't be much of an opportunity to see it. :lol:

 

 

 

Runescape going 3d, updated avatars or graphics in general:

I don't know. :-w Since they have never hyped an update as much as this, besides rs2, it could be anything. If I have to take a guess, I would look in the direction of randomly generated dungeons, quests etc... I know it already exists, but the idea has a lot more potential then simply escorting people out of a swamp...

 

 

 

But hey, it could be a banking system, it could be a new landmass (either elven or asian), or something we haven't thought of altogether, your guess is as good as mine and that is what makes this thread so much fun. :thumbsup:

Does anyone else rememeber that short span when the world map had some land shown as a coast opposite Isafdar? It wasn't there for very long, and it wasn't much more than green, but it was definitely land. Instead of the East, could Jagex possibly be updating the West?

I think's it's going to be a new, high- level quest with large history information, access to either a new skill or a new branch of a skill, and a large landmass with nifty high level stuff. Which is why once i get member's back I'm going to try to skill crazily. We shall see if my predictions and resolve are true...

Come on do you really think they would announce adding a slayer-monster, months before it comes ? It is probably a new skill or a huge graphical update. I doubt It'll be a quest. It could be Summoning, come on, it needs huge work, it would need loads of new features for just one skill because obviously you'd need to have some control of your summonings.

i think it will be a new continent with a huge number of new monsters, items, and possibly even a new skill or skills, and may include the blood and soul altars, as well as some quests for the area, and i also think there may be dragonkin. and i think magic is set for a huge update since melee has been getting a ton lately same with range so huge mage update and summoning. that's a lot of new content.

The bts mentions someting about horizon and trickle which means water and sun imo

 

 

 

1.A sextant is a measuring instrument generally used to measure the angle of elevation of a celestial object above the horizon. The angle, and the time when it was measured, can be used to calculate a position line on a nautical or aeronautical chart. --from wiki

 

 

 

We already use a sextant in coordinate clues

 

 

 

2. In a few docks , there are un-used docks. I believe these will play a major role in boating

 

 

 

3.The fishing trawler is basically step one to boating.. you have to repair the boat.. to me that means boat building.

 

 

 

4. another reason why i think is the dragon slayer quest...

 

during one part.. you have to repair a ship using planks nails and a hammer.

 

 

 

A few things to go along with boating.

 

 

 

Boating would affect fishing in a whole new and exciting way.

 

You could use your boat to catch more than 1 fish at a time.

As you can see... #ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s 7 and 8 are new monsters... to catch a snow crab you must have level 70 fishing and the spot is located near water Birth Island. The catfish is located near karamaja.

 

 

 

Each ship will have a cargo hold.. each cargo depends on your boating level. At lvl 40 you can hold 100 and 99 you can hold 230 fish max.

 

 

 

To catch a snow crab you need to launch crab pots which can be made of steel-rune... the better the material the longer it will last. You will have to bait with roe or salmon head which can be obtained by using knife on raw salmon.

 

 

 

This will as well open up a new area to travel, fish, fight, and a new high level monster..

 

 

 

The new monster would be the "kraken" It will be lvl 400-600 dropping a dragon item maybe? like the pick, pl8, arrows, knifes, kite.

 

 

 

A new PVP minigame like castlewars only in the water.

 

 

 

The ship building part:

 

 

 

There will be 4 shipbuilding yards. To build a ship you have to watch a cutscene training clip(which is skipable) and pay 1 Million gp to purchase a liscence. A bout would take 500 of any log (noted) and 100 of any metal bar besides blurite and elemental. In your boat, with the right construction level, you can builld the following rooms:

 

Galley(used to cook food), Storage tank for storing 40-140 lobs based on materials used and level, and player deck.. this is where you controll and walk around your boat .

 

 

 

Your boat can contain up to 5 people. You can only travel to certain docks but as you get higher leveld you unlock acess to the others.

 

 

 

2 more quests will come out probaly.

 

 

 

One to unlock access to the kracken and the minigame

 

and one to allow you to smith mith-rune cannon balls
