Also this month, we will be introducing some fantastic changes to the Duel Arena. We have drawn information from a recent poll, various suggestions from players, forum posts and general feedback to create some improvements. There was overwhelming support for tournaments, so we offer enough room for 64 players and large prizes. You wanted more options on the Hiscores table, well, now you can track your Tournament Rank, which will reflect your Duel Arena awesomeness!

Correct me if im wrong, but isnt this complete misrepresenstation and false advertising? All I can say is sigh, I hope their GE idea isnt as fantastic as this one.

Ok, but they were presenting it to players as fantastic. Its not about how they feel about it, its about how the players do.

They misrepresented and false advertised and called it fantastic, making people excited. Yup, everyone is happy and excited alright.

They won't know if it will be viewed as good or bad by the people before the release it.

Go ahead and sue them, waste your and their time.

Who said anything about sueing? Im not a staker either. I just find it a bit funny how they called it fantastic. I was reading the thread that was describing what htey had planned for november and caught that part.

Wouldnt you agree that its kinda funny how they presented it and how it turned out? And also, do you honestly think they expected people to be happy over killing staking....

Not like I really care. And the discussion is in the fact that something that was presented to be really good and people anticipated turned out to be something completely different. Makes you wonder about other things that were promised.

False Advertising is saying you will do somthing, and not doing it. Not In-Game, However On Forums or somthing. As my fellow Tip.Iters have been saying, It's Jagex's Oppinion. It wouldn't count as false advertising at all. So, Theres no life in this topic really?

Alright, if thats how everyone feels. I see it differently as promising one thing and delivering something completely different.

If the topic is really that bad then I shall stop responding and feel free not to respond either if its a bad topic thus not to bump it and let it die.

The enormous majority of players I've spoken with absolutely love the update.

It's amazing how such a small minority can make so much noise about something they're not pleased about. Doesn't seem to matter what Jagex do for an update.... people will moan anyway.

fantastic is an opinion based term.

A consumer disagreeing with an opinion doesn't make it false advertising.

the real false advertising on Jagex's part is when they say that this game is for mature players of 13 years or older.

being 13 and over doesn't make you mature.

But Jagex knows where they have a large base of players so they try to (or fail to) appease them since they can say that anyone under the age of 13 is playing without their knowledge. So if you can keep the game as clean as possible so their parents think it is ok and safe-guard them to the max they will gain younger players and keep older ones who do not see the dumbing down of RS as something to quit over

Who lied to you?

Finally, RuneScape is set in a traditional fantasy setting with the usual combat and conflict, so we only recommend the game for players aged 13+...

The only reason they have a 13+ rule is because of a certain law in the UK. I think it is something about only children over the age of 13 are allowed to give out information over the internet, without parental consent. If that's not it, it's close to it.

It is NOT Jagex's rule.

In response to the 3 posters above, only the first poster got my point. Jagex has turned this into a game friendly to 5 year olds. They tone down everything enough the younger players will run to mommy or daddy and have them break out the credit card. And as long as they keep churning out semi decent updates that keep people busy, then older members will stay to hang out with friends. I know that it's just Jagex being a bussiness, but still.

Back when construction was released, they had us believe for the whole month we were going to be able to just make chairs.

Moral: Never anticipate anything.

"300 programmers make their futile but glorious last stand against 1000000 angry players in The battle of Misthalin. They fight for honor, glory and new content sacrificing themselves so that their game may live on. This is Madness! This Is JAGEEEX!"
