Wisp
I think the idea is that the learned FROM him. It's like in Land of the Dead. They've in a way, almost come full circle. The mannequin was put there to draw him out, and they learned how to set those traps from expereience with him. They all know who he is and are afraid of him, which suggests they have formed some kind of community. It's a really interesting story, where to them, Smith is the monster. Edit: Why do you keep calling the characters "the kids"? What are you talking about hear? The book? The Last Man on Earth? Omega Man? The Newer movie? I guess it kinda makes sense if you're talking about Omega Man.I always interpreted the book in that the character thought of the Vampires like humans thought of vampires, evil, and legendary, mythological and so on. The point is that the vampires thought of him the same way, as a monster, and since he was the last human left on Earth, he was rare, and became a legend. I phrased that badly, but, meh. There's no arguing though, they weren't zombies. I thought the newest movie wasn't that great because the name was the only real thing it shared with the book, other than a few hints and the real ending, which was taken out. Thanks. They just threw the I am Legend bit onto the end of the movie in a way that sucked, just so they would have some reason to use them name of the book. THE ZOMBIES WERE JUST AS INTELLIGENT AS HUMANS. THEY WEREN'T ZOMBIES, THEY WERE CLOSEST TO VAMPIRES. Hegemony-Spain
Dizzle229
Yep, I Am Legend may have been a bit better if it had been it's own thing, but whatever it works. They definitely weren't zombies, but I kinda have a hard time thinking of them as vampires. I think they're something else altogether, but they change in everything. In The Last Man on Earth they were basically semi-intelligent Romero zombies that couldn't go out in the daylight. Omega Man they were basically humans. It was really just a bad complexion disease. The new movie infected are my favorite, the really tough ones. They don't really make sense, but it's a movie and they work well in it. Get back here so I can rub your butt. Guest Mrmegakirby
They were definatly intelligent. For god sakes. He was in a car, and they knew to jump on a telephone pole, and bring it down on his car. And they did set the trap.

Grim_
Shoot them/run away. Again the best battle strategy is to avoid fighting but if not put a bullet through their skull. My strategy would be to (if I knew how to) hot wire a dump truck and steal some gas. Then get as much food as humanly possible pacage it and when safe clean out the inside of the dump-truck and use it to carry food.Later I would make a hatchway into the back and completely seal it off (aside from a trap door at the roof) from the outside

Zombieficationl stop blood flow in all cases, right? so the poison could not spread if you were zombified. Movement causes blood to pump faster because you are doing something, if no blood pumps ever then poison would stay in place for the most part. I say stops blood flow because of the rotting effect. Blood carries oxygen to the cells to keep them from dying. They don't die and they don't rot. So with that logic no disease can hurt you after zombiefication. With no way of moving it's stuck in one place. Assuming the zombies catch you they will zombiefy you and poison will be of no worry. I just made zombies seem more scary with invulnerability to disease. :ohnoes: Even worse, the argument makes sense! First zombie we catch I call testing this theory. Dizzle229
Just made this Z-Day simulator real quick. Shows a total of 221 humans and 1 zombie in the upper left corner. At first only 3 people are killed, but when it starts to spread, it reaches it's peak at 66 deaths in the time it took to kill the first 3, stopping there only because there aren't enough left to kill. Grim_
And now to get this thread on topic ! Also I would like to request that hex will not post on this thread.... And now actually on topic! Okay my plan of action would be to steal a garbage truck and a [wagon]-load of fuel (and food) and then with my nearly impenetrable kill-mobile (If I get enough time I will add on a cow catcher) and then proceed from there. Nenga
Lol looks like it died again. I had my first TZDF dream today. [hide=dream]The zombie apocalypse started at about 8:00 one night (I still wasn't out of high school so it was sometime before this may). The zombies busted into my house, there were about 15 of them. I had no weapon on hand and the closest thing to me was this hard plastic tube. So I beat them down and my mom came out and told me we need to leave. I told her to wait a minute because I was looking for my katana (I don't own one lol). She went out side and I noticed the lights started to get brighter. I was confused so I ran outside (grabbed my MP3 player) and the house blew up. We went to my neighbors house to look for my katana as well. After we beat down the zombies about the same thing happened, but I left my MP3 player. So now we started walking out of town. I don't know how long we walked but the next thing I knew I woke up at a makeshift base someone had started. The leader had given us permission to stay there. He showed us around. There were only a few people there. He said the first person to turn up said something about "tip" and that "it's their job to fight back against the zombies" I noticed a little booth was set up. It said TZDF and it was a recruiting booth. I was the first person to approach it. When he asked for my name I gave my Forum name instead of my real name. He recognized me and then welcomed me and told me to sit down. After that part I woke up. I'm waiting for part 2 now. [/hide] No I do not know who the TZDF person in my dream was. Ponies!
