Also, i will grab my paint ball guns and put the paintballs in a cooler to freeze them and make them a resonable weapon against zombies. step 2: i jump in my car and begin "pickups" of my friends, which by the end will leave us with two cars full, and roughly 3-5 real guns, 2 swords, a crap load of shovels and weed whackers, and 10-15 paintball/ b-b guns. step 3: we procend to our local mall, which holds a huge hunting store. The mall will provide enough rations and ammo to last the entire invasion untill we get rescued. also, the hunting store has a large, fake mountian in the middle, which would provide a good camping spot and a place to hold down at. the roof is covered in windows, giving us plenty of light, and their is a fake stream which can provide us with water for the first bit. step 4: Asuming we do NOT get rescued before we run out of ammo, we will procced on foot (with some ammo to help us) to local police stations, ect, to try and find even more ammo, then grab a car and drive away..... step 5: travel across north america,from town to town, finding ammo and cars, with the ultimate goal of Washington D.C. of all the places, this is the one im SURE will not become over-run. from there, we are safe. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Oh, you were serious. Wow. Where to begin? Ah, yes. Ditch the paintball guns. They won't work, since even a frozen paintball won't be able to destroy a brain in a single shot, unless the zombies experience very advanced decay very quickly. Just extra, useless weight, like the extra pounds your mom kept after you were born. Also, the mall. This has been covered; too many entrances, everyone will be there already, it just isn't a viable option. You're planning as if you'll be the only survivors, which I can assure you will not happen. And you will probably not be able to "grab a car" due to blocked roads and massive zombie amounts that will be drawn to the sound of your engine. Also, if DC is not overrun, it will be because the military is there keeping it in order, and will not let you in because you might be infected. In fact, you'll probably be shot before you can say "Lincoln Memorial". Pretty much what he said. DC would be just as likely to be over-run as say, NYC. An infection starts internally, and it escalates. Likely, in the even of something like a zombie apocalypse, the president would be evacuated to some bunker somewhere. Also, grabbing a car? This sounds easy, but even though there would be many cars lying around in possible working order, it's not like anyone leaves the keys in the ignition. People will just say "lol hotwire it" but do you honestly know how to do that? Or do you think you'll have time to break into a car when zombies may be chasing you, then do a rather complicated task before they get you? That's ignoring the fact that gas will be very rare. If you were to barricade ONE store in a mall, which is possible, but really stupid, you wouldn't have the resources granted by the other stores. A hunting store won't have any food other than maybe a couple bags of beef jerky. First and formost, the store is large, empty, and has only two entrances, one outside and one to the mall itself. And food comes from the food court of the mall, which happens to be right beside it -.- Piantball guns-might not work, and if it dosent, just toss it out the window. Cars- i beg to differ. Switching between cars can be fast and simple if we have it planed out right. Washington- maybe. you have a valid point about that. Gas-you might also have a point. but then again, the hunting store has a crap load of ammo, and would esily kill around 5000 zombies, with 5 bullets per zombie. we might never need to leave.[/hide] You said you would go to a police station "and grab a car". That doesn't sound like you've left a car there in the past with a full tank of gas, unlocked with the key in the ignition. And unless the food court magically has enough non-perishables to last you even a month, it's worthless. Think of the stores at your average food court: Mcdonalds, taco-bell, kfc maybe, starbucks, chinese fast-food. Most of that is meat products which will rot quickly and be a major health hazard, and will be unsuitable to eat. There aren't many non-perishables at your average food court, thus it's worthless. And thats not even mentioning the fact that maybe hundereds of other people will want to get into that hunting store, and they may have been driven insane. These people will be desperate to get in, and if you leave, they will try to enter and lock you out. One Insane person = worse than 5 zombies. Also, you forget about sound. Sound will be one of the mans worst enemies during the zombie apocalypse. If a zombie hears you, it will moan, its moaning will attract more zombies, all heading towards your location. Pretty soon, every zombie in the town will be on your doorstep. You have enough ammo to kill 5000+ zombies you say? Not if they are in a writhing wall of flesh and bone, slowly moving towards you, with the sole intention of devouring every part of you. No amount of ammo in the world will save you then. In the event of a level 3 or 4 outbreak, people will likely not be evacuated, either. Everyone who is not part of your team will become another enemy for you to compete with or fight against, be they human or zombie. Trust nobody.
