April 29, 200521 yr A good friend of mine who plays Galaxies is quite upset with their latest update. Basically, he no longer can gain experience from fighting things lower than his level, and he gets owned by anything even a bit above his level. It was done to "balance" the game, in that people were getting good to fast, or so I understand. I'm sure there are people here who play both RS and Galaxies. Also, I know people who PK (although I don't) are constantly complaining that the "triangle balance" doesn't work. So, my questions to get this topic going is: Could you see JAGeX doing something drastic like this? Would it make you upset? I think I'd go nuts, personally :) Peace, lpinkus
April 29, 200521 yr For me as a pure ranger it would make no difference to me at all. For my main i'd be quite annoyed as a f2p'er i could only train on greater demons
April 30, 200521 yr such an idea would lose money for jagex i would think Small Children Scared Count:3
April 30, 200521 yr Impossible for f2pers. Highest monster is 92 (gd) and when ur above u cant train for [cabbage]... Xtreme iTalk
April 30, 200521 yr Impossible for f2pers. Highest monster is 92 (gd) and when ur above u cant train for cabbage... maybe they'll do it to lure the higher levels to p2p... Help drive change Canada
April 30, 200521 yr Impossible for f2pers. Highest monster is 92 (gd) and when ur above u cant train for cabbage... maybe they'll do it to lure the higher levels to p2p... Yeah, so lvls about 92 can't train anymore  It wont lure high levels to P2P, it will make them leave...
April 30, 200521 yr And members above that couldn't fight monsters in f2p either. I guess they would have to add a lv126 monster into f2p :) Btw, a really bad idea.
April 30, 200521 yr Well yes I have seen this on other games but not on online games. Basically once you reach a certain level then things that are greatly below that no longer give exp. So for example if you were level 115 then chickens should not give exp. The Runescape Wilderness - Meili's Blog
April 30, 200521 yr Pah! Jagex has monged up big time in the past (Hard rock/soft rock, faitgue, slayer) and they're damned sure to do it again! This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.
May 1, 200521 yr it won't because you cant get good fast on runescape. Think about it, 13 million exp for lvl 99. thats a ton of work and patience.

May 1, 200521 yr i dont think it could work for runescape. although i havent played SWG, in games like Dark Ages of Camelot if you fight monsters that are too high for your level, then you gain extra experience (compaired to if you were fighting them when you were the right level) so with hallys or range, people attacking super high monsters at really low levels would just race up. and if they didnt put in this incentive, people would only attack the monsters similar levels to themselves, thusly limiting the ammount of monsters that people train on. plus, games like that usually have less levels (DAoC only has 50) so there are enough different kinds of monsters to fight at any level while in runescape there are 126 levels, and what? 300 monsters? that means that for each level there would be only 3 or 4 monsters to choose from. plenty of which arent really great for training on anyway. what this means is that the game would get insanely repeditive and eventually unfairly hard to train. plus, doing that would mean changing the XP given from damage done to a set amount at the killing stroke of the monster (I think? thats the way its done in most games anyway, but perhaps not) which would require huge changes to the game, and mean that people could hire other people to half kill monsters for them, and then they would sweep in and finish them off.

Think about it, 13 million exp for lvl 99. thats a ton of work and patience. if you try hard enough you could have the best equipment the day you started... well be able to wear it at least yea, thats to get to lvl 60ish. only 270k exp, nothing compared to the 13 mil exp. After lvl 60, it becomes harder, trust me, I'd know with my campaign of all lvl 70 combat stats.
March 21, 200719 yr I could'nt train anymore, im pure f2p and got combat level 115, a greater only have combat level 92. Become a legend, join The Living Legends.Visit http://www.the-living-legends.nl.tt for more info.
March 21, 200719 yr If this happens... I will have to train on lessers. :| If this does happen lvl 126's wouldn't be able to get a fire-cape back because there is mosters lower then 126.
March 21, 200719 yr This doesn't fit in the game and Jagex wouldn't let the game get ruined like that. Twitter ||| Google+ ||| Facebook ||| LinkedIn ||| My very interesting weblog about science
March 21, 200719 yr didnt saw it was a old topic... realy old! ^^ click my sig for my lesser ranging guide ^^jwrm22: 4816th > 99 cooking 100% f2p !1172 total! + 140mil in items.i dont play anymore... i think rs is ruined
March 21, 200719 yr if this change were put into runescape, slayer would be completely untrainable. ex. i'm assighned harpie bug swarms lvl 46, but i'm 95. i go to burthrope, get assigned bears lvl 21 i would be stuck on bears forever, because i'm to high lvled to kill them.
March 21, 200719 yr This idea wouldn't work in rs. SWG implemented the exp cut-off because people were camping at little stuff to get higher. So they added that to help with their scaling system, ie the higher your lvl the better monsters you can kill and the harder it is to lvl up further. Jagex has already implemented thier own scaling system in the exponential exp system. 270k exp to get to lvl 60, to get from lvl 77 to lvl 78, something around 270k. So because of Jagex's formula, they don't need to implement something like that. And if SWG is changing thier formula that drastically, that implies that they didn't have a good system in the first place. [br]Visit the NEW Bank of Runescape! [br]
