Abyss runecrafting is a joke now, a shell of its former self. It saddens me to see so many people using the abyss now, who before were to scared to use it. I'll admit that I disliked abyss pkers, but I know that they were a vital part of the abyss. They kept the the faint of heart away and gave those bold enough to use the abyss a sense of competition. It was pkers who kept the abyss from being abused, and runes flooding the market. Now, I can use the abyss with no teleports, sara brews, or armor and know that I'll be perfectly safe. I have crafted 12k deaths and only been attacked by a ghost once. The abyss needs to be rebalanced before the runecrafting community is changed forever.

 

 

 

The abyss can still be saved. I would recommend some of the following:

 

 

 

>Make abyss monsters capable of freezing or poisoning players.

 

 

 

>Make revenent ghosts more common in the low level wilderness.

 

 

 

>Allow pking to take place in certain high traffic areas, such as by the Zamorak mage, green dragons, and North of Varrok. (If pking takes place only in these locations it will be almost impossible for RWT to take place safely). (Not my #1 choice since there are gaps to allow RWT.)

 

 

 

 

 

If anyone has any other suggestions I would love to hear them.

What the hell? I swear as soon as I set a goal Jagex hears about it and screws with my goal... yeah I'm probably still going to go for 99 rcing but wow... I had some level and item goals from the 99 rcing money and now I'll need to rc *a lot* more runes to meet those goals. <.<

Quite simply, Facebook craps on Myspace. Then makes it eat the crap.

How was pc bigger then this? PC effected hardly anyone, only the people that couldn't take the time/risk of fighting real monsters. This effects everyone... trading yeah everyone trades :roll:

PC was a mistake from the start. A minigame never should have replaced traditional training.

 

 

 

OT: I was runecrafting as usual, seeing a lot more traffic though, and I was asked how to use the abyss on three separate occasions. #-o

Those are great ideas for making this update less broken. I think would also increasing the frequency of the reverents would also work.

Hmm. I don't know. I'm taking a break right now but will enjoy making natures in my self-sufficient playing style because the abyss is safer.

i'm put off by your title. anyway, for 1 i'd rather see people crafting their own runes through the abyss then not. once pure ess supplies start drying up, whenever that is, for some it will be yesterday... that will cut into the profit and supply of player crafted runes. some people dont like leveling runecraft because the xp can be very slow even at higher lvls. i suspect there will continue to be a large market for player made runes but what you describe happening could only last so long before the pure essence supply runs low so idk. less tweaking>tweaking as a rule.

 

 

 

i like the abyss the way it was before, i like its location and convenience and everything about abyss runecrafting. that's been my preferred method of runecrafting since it was released. were they to come in and do some tweaking i would hope it would at least be entertaining and not just an annoyance. :) but i'm glad its not my job to make those decisions. of course people want profit but as high lvl mage and runecrafter i can craft 2k astral runes for myself in a short time teleporting to moonclan and running to astral altar. i could make double the xp per run using teleport to ourania and teleport back to moonclan. so there's other methods, cosmic crafting is actually pretty good for mid lvl runecrafters and useful for training mage. i cant see anyone seriously crafting deaths using any other method than the abyss.

 

 

 

another consideration is when blood and soul is released, these higher lvl runes will be produced more than nature i'd think for those that can craft them up until perhaps 91 rc, so that's another factor. i think it's hard to say right now not knowing what content is in the works and what jagex is planning. i mean they may want the pure ess supply to be near depleted for that to stabilise other parts of their game. either way, they've already stated they intend for the reward of the abyss to be dangerous and if it isnt currently, havent checked myself, then you can expect that to change so that it is. :)

The fact is: there are too many people rcing nats.

 

 

 

Of all runes you can rc..

 

 

 

Cosmics - are around 140 each, lvl for double cosmics is 59, two cosmics sells for 280, that is more than the price of 1 nat. Cosmics were used for quick training as a form of onyx enchanting, pretty quick magic exp.

 

 

 

Deaths - are almost 300 each, lvl for rcing deaths is a low 65, each deaths sells for more than each nat and give more exp. People use deaths for solo maging dk, which might become popular as a form of monster hunting past jan 2008

 

 

 

Double astrals - You get this at lvl 82 rc, each astral rune sells for about 150 each. Sseli proposed a new way to training mage, through string jewellery lunar spell, each spell uses 2 astral runes and yields an amazing mage exp/hr. Profit from selling 2 astrals is more than nats. This demand of astrals may increase as this mage training method become more popular.

 

 

 

So why the hell isn't anyone rcing any of the runes above? Or are you just incredibly too lazy to do some quests? <.<

Strangely with WotLK so near, I wished I could delay it a bit to push through that last TBC content in MH/BT :'(.

Ya. With runes a plenty flooding the market, prices are going to drop like a 6 ounce swallow carrying a 9 pound coconut.
If the CORPORAL beast is this hard, imagine how hard a GENERAL or COLONEL beast would be. a corporal is not even an admirable rank in armies that use that ranking system.

 

Yeah, it is a pking minigame, so any arguments anybody makes will probably be biased.

The best way this will end :Everybody just says,"I'm not arguing with you anymore, goodbye."

The worst way this will end: I don't really know, psychological warfare? Worldwide thermonuclear war? Pie eating contest?

Yeah... All I can say is that this is very very bad for the abyss... (Yeah, Freesia, I don't feel like doing ME2, so natures are the best moneymaker for me right now, except cosmics, and I want the experience.) I hope they make it more dangerous without bringing back PKing, because RWT just isn't cool.

When you guys run out of money to buy pure ess and used up all your pure ess mining essence I'm going to laugh because most of you have eben do disrespectful to PK'rs even though their realm has been destroyed and you're going to have very few people to sell your runes to.

 

 

 

Enjoy mining your 100k ess making your 100k nats wc'ing your 100k yes, picking your 100k flax, making your 100k bowstrings, fletching your 100k yew longs, and then alching them. Because since there are no PK'rs or Stakers, you're not going to have anyone to sell to except for the rare comfortably wealthy person.

They are far more dangerous than their Combat level suggests, as they can attack from all three points of the combat triangle, freeze you, teleblock you, travel in packs and even 'steal' you from combat that you have initiated with another creature! Beyond that they can heal themselves, cure themselves of poison and are very aggressive. It's time to beware the Wilderness, because the revenants are here and looking to wreak terror on the living...

That's all fine and nice, if only revenants were hanging around the zamorak mage. At the moment I can craft all day without ever running into more than one. I've made over 12k death runes and only been frozen twice, but only after the mage had teleported me.
