It's nice to see this, but whatever they did I don't care, I do not agree with people flaming the likes of R2 and Duke Freedom, they are both respectful players who saw the error of their ways. Everyone makes mistakes, and admitting it is not helped by people calling them "cheaters".

I respect r2 a great deal but what do you mean learnt the error of his ways, i have him on msn and his current sold count is at 20 billion, and i suspect by january it will be closer to 25, he is selling more gold then anyone else arround.

PS I do believe Duke had changed. R2, on the other hand, just became worst. In fact, he seems to be the go-to guy for the cheaters. During my research I keep seeing "R2pleasent i think your the only one thats going to crack this one." I do respect his intelligence, as he was one of the best merchanters. Such a shame he turn out to be a bad apple.

Sure you go ahead and interact with strangers, but if I cant interact with my friends normally, then they can keep their oh so great cheat free game.

It had to be brutal to kill off the scammers and cheaters once and for all.

 

Let it settle a couple of month. There is plenty of ways to elaborate on team based activity and player interaction, already lots of good ideas have come up on this forum.

 

Jagex ofcourse will want to improve the team based aspect of the game, but on a basis where it does not facilitate RWT.

Yeah if i ever decided to go back to rs id auto my way back to riches.

 

The macroers will be arround in force now that the rmts have no other way to get gold except constant grind.

There's no point for autoing continue. Come January, the people who operate bots will be unable to trade unbalanced sums of gold to buyers. It goes like this:

 

 

 

No more unbalanced trades = No more RWT

 

No more RWT = No more bots to fund RWT

 

No more bots

 

 

 

The only bots that will be left will be the ones operated by people who want to level, but who would risk that? There is no more potential to make gold off autoing with the intent to sell it.

You have no idea how crap jagex auto detection systems are well heres a clue:

 

Look up danqer, it was autoed to 99 mage in a weekend, never banned.

 

I could name hundreds more but some are still activally used.

 

 

 

you can try to convince account buyers of that. i dont buy it. face it jagex has shut rwt down on rs and for it to continue on runescape it would require people to adopt these characters with no interaction between their mains. why would they stay on botting rs or selling bots? just to be a pain. their profiting motive is gone, cant make much profit now. in some ways the criminals need the cops and the cops need the criminals.

 

 

 

the fact is cheaters profits are reduced significantly if they stay with runescape. were they to move on to another game; its easier for them to do what they've been doing. water seeks the path of least resistance. even if they find a justification that explains away their true motives they will still choose and convince others to relocate their shops to another game simple as that. dont be naive.

I said nothing about rwt, rwt is over on rs, botting will continue, if you think botting was only done by rwts your a fool.

this is the last time i'm going post on this topic. in rsc you could transfer items; in rs now you cant. that's a big difference, something you failed to address. as well, in rsc those chars were mainly used for lazy trainers to pk and transfer goods.

 

 

 

if you're saying people would rather play a botted character than their main, without being able to transfer items, i just dont see how that makes much sense. consider that most people in rsc that used bots also had mains and transferred items. i dont see people being that desperate. you bot 3 characters and can play on them with a strong chance of being banned on 1 if not all. so you can do what?

same ip address right? we have 4 computers in my home, my wife and I play same time, same world, sometimes my oldest two children as well......same ip address....lotsa family's play, kind of hard to determine if you have two computers side by side playing yourself, or two pages uploaded simultaneously on same computer etc...but then again, im not a puter savvy individual, maybe they can tell the difference. why you would do two at same time as one person with exception of illegally trading items between two of your own charcters I don't know. But then, I don't pk, and have no need for anything but my one single character....

jagex was losing big time because it was so easy to buy and sell gp and now they ended rwt but hurt everyone in runescape in the process

I highly doubt they will undo such a concentrated effort that took a year in the making because several hundred RWTers/pkers quit...even if it several thousand...better for the collective legit players in the long run....the inability to gift to legit RL family or friends is a blow...but a price I am willing to pay to make the RWTers go elswhere, as well as the ppl who played ONLY to pk.

You happen to forget that the "customers" have been so pissed off with autoers/RWTers before that they flooded the forums with rants, suggestions, and comments on what they were doing against them. Now they've put an end to what we asked them to put an end to, and you have the nerve to say they went "too far"?

I think the problem is that the people who were most adversely effected by RWTers, the skillers who were forced to share resources with bots, are the class [type?] of player who was hit least hard by this update.

 

 

 

It's the players who rarely came into contact with such bots, who even profited from the cheap price of raw materials on the market, who have had their fun sucked from the game.

 

 

 

I never complained nor cared about auto's. I understand how hard it must be to compete for ore and fish with bots, and i'm happy you don't have to do that anymore.

 

 

 

I just wish there was a reason for me to play now...

 

 

 

RuneScape always appealed to me as the type of game you can jump into at any point and have a little fun doing what you enjoy. A game that fits in easily with your RL schedule. I don't think this can be said now, for a lot of players.
