Jagex's fixes are never permanent (Never have been and never will be). When people find a way to circumvent the rules, Jagex will just tighten the reigns on everyone else in their never ending quest for self-righteousness.

I said this a long time ago and I'll say it again; Bots/macro'ers/RWT's are always two steps ahead of Jagex. Periodically Jagex will do something which chases them off for a bit, but they always come back.

Well, I'm sure you're hoping so anyway, based on your past history of opposing every effort Jagex makes to clean the filth out of the game.

Meanwhile... once again...

OH MY GOD, these people actually glory not in making money but in bringing MMORPGS down, jesus they really are just a bunch of 13 year olds.........this is why kids and technology don't mix.

[Loads of bad language removed ~Kill Life]

Edit:Seriously? I've seen MUCH worse than what I said in the last couple of days, and given it was censored and thats what everyones reaction would be to being robbed then scalded for fighting back I didn't think it would be a problem. Also I don't understand 'loads of bad language' I used TWO swear words(which were censored), I'd of understood if you said 'far too violent imagery'.

Fine: Basically one of these guys(on the cheat site/forum) said Jagex had stooped low by changing direct trading, this is like a boxer being hit over the head with a piece of lead by his opponent in the ring and then being disqualified for complaining about it.

I hope the justification for posting these kind of pics can be understood within this topic:

As you can see the RWT's have just changed their techniques whereby instead of the player buying the gold from another account they give an account seller their account credentials and allow them access to their account when they need to make the money.

This is just going to be more undetectable than ever, and will lead to Jagex doing more ridiculous content-trims to squash these people. When Jagex read this they'll know that they made a false statement in saying that every method of stopping RWT's had been addressed.

They have not, and they now must face the embarrassment of admitting defeat.

Defeat? Hardly.

First, the price of RS gold has tripled overnight. That alone is a big step.

Second, there's a HUGE difference between paying a few bucks for a guy to come online and trade you gold, and letting some stranger in China have your login details. You think it's "undetectable" that some guy who's been playing with an IP address from Toledo, Ohio suddenly logs in from China and chops yews for 12 hours straight? And the same IP is seen doing the same with other accounts from other places in the U.S., U.K. etc?

Anyone who is foolish enough to do this is going to get a well-deserved ban.

P.S. Please remove that obvious fake quote from Gower from your signature. Sheesh.

ooooh wow that was brilliant in how they already circumvented the update....not  ....sure, here is my account info....what's this?...I can't log on? *recovers account eventually*...aww I've been cleaned out.......how did that happen :-k geez I can't even report it because i'd just be banned.. :wall:

come on, please tell me no one would fall for this ridiculous website.....rofl...but then again, there are those 200+ a week "ZOMG I got hacked" threads...

i would much prefer real world trading over killing runescape completely. It's better to play with rwts than not play at all.

I'm not usually the one to cry over updates, but r.i.p runescape.

I was really hoping to end my runescape career by simply retiring rather than leaving because there nothing left to play for. This really makes me feel that I wasted my time playing, rather than enjoyed it.

Hey, do you realize the obvious three mistakes you've made with that reasoning?

1. No RS player is going to be stupid enough to pay somebody ~$10 to take their account/level on it, just to get it banned within 72 hours.

2. Swapping accounts out from under different IPs is very detectable. That goes to prove what you know about networking/computers.

3. If they ranted about it, who would care? They broke the freaking rules anyway.

With that said, time to face the music on this matter. Jagex: 1, RWT: 0.

Or it may go to show that you really don't know much. If you're really desperate you can use a proxy server to circumvent location systems and make your IP address appear that it logged on from somewhere other than your location.

I excuse your lack of research this time.

Um dude...

you DO realize that you can 'gift' ppl full rune armour through the assist system?

But wouldn't the person need rune bars to be able to "receive" the gift?

nope, they'd need runite ore and coal and smelt the bars thru him

neither of which are that hard to get

Of course, if you'd ever mined runite ore, you'd know that the price of a single ore is over 12,000 coins and that I would not be able to give even one to another person. They would not only have to pay for the ore, but they'd be paying more for the armor now that the price for the raw materials needed to make armor far exceed those of the end product. In the end, they would have been better off buying the entire set themselves for much cheaper than I could ever have manufactured it.

Unbelievable. <.<

I'm willing to bet 20m that Jagex will raise the difference-between-trade AND the drop cap to at least 50k.

Of course, if I'm wrong, there's no way I can give you the money.

Ah, this reminds me about the noob on the Runescape forums who was upset with the quest "Cold War" because apparently his grandparents died in the war. :wall:

Plenty been written, but none really addresses the real issue, simply:

Did JaGeX killed RWT?

Actually, I'm pretty sure this is the very thing that everybody is talking about.

Yes, they have made a "victory" against RWT. I once read something that seems to be highly appropriate for these updates.

If this is a victory, then our hands are to small to hold it.

I don't know if this quote is exactly what it says in the lotr books, but anyway, it's about the war between dwarves and orcs, which the dwarves had just won with great losses.

Jagex has gone to far and has decided to ignore their players to destroy a few RWT'ers.NO excuses are good for the updates they did. They are a company, we are the customers. Without us, they wouldn't exist and Andrew wouldn't be making millions.

You happen to forget that the "customers" have been so pissed off with autoers/RWTers before that they flooded the forums with rants, suggestions, and comments on what they were doing against them. Now they've put an end to what we asked them to put an end to, and you have the nerve to say they went "too far"?

Do your homework on this matter. We wanted RWTers gone. They're gone now. Why aren't you satisfied?

First, count the number of autoer rants before the update.

Then, count the number of rants about the update.

Yep, Jagex went too far. Fortunately, they'll more than likely take a few steps backward (still keeping ahead of the RWT line) once their subscriber count dips below 1,000,000.

You sir, have braved the darkest depths of hell, and have brought us back that while the cost of victory was great, all is not lost, and that now runescape can be taken back by the players. Not the bots and RWT. Kudos to you sir, and Jagex.

Yes, so? A proxy is still not the same IP as the person had before. Using one at the same time as a bunch of gold mysteriously appears in an account is beyond suspicious, and as Makoto said, VERY easily detected.

You do know that proxies can be blocked, don't you?

If it's that obvious then the quote stays.

If you're that dense then the quote gets reported instead. :wall:

Im happy that finally noone will be able to buy gold but.... after reading the updates I didnt even log in. I quit the game.... BUT YEAH on topic its strange the way they talk, like its actually a horrible thing that they cant break rules anymore, reminds me of something like if a company of brokers just got shut down by the government. As people have probably previously said...

RWT may be dead, but does Runescape truly live? Normal players take a big hit from this.

But then there's the fact, that many of autoers that used to sell gold, are going to be macroing on their mains now. They'll develop better scripts and whatnot, so we've replaced RWT with macroers?

To be quite honest. If the price to cut yew trees without some bot standing next to me is that they destroy the game I've loved for 3 years. I'll gladly sacrifice some resources.

Comparing Autoer rants to Update Rants is a bad analogy

as for the subscriber count, last I heard its actually up by 2000.

Plus since the people that are leaving (PKers, Stakers and Merchants) are undesireables because their behaviour and subculture encourages

-exploit use

-scamming

-cheating

-illicit transfers of materials between mains and pures

-buying gold to train pures

-buying gold to get skill capes on their mains

-the bots in particular cost Jagex a lot of time because most are paid with stolen credit card info

you can bet that Jagex and the rest of us is not at all sad to see them gone.

Less bots, cheaters and scummy idiots to deal with means that Jagex will have more resources to produce interesting stuff for us.

The only problem i now forsee is them just trying to ruin the game for us out of the sheer fun of it. Suppose they wanted to crash the market i'm sure they could somehow - i'm not an economist so I wouldn't be able to tell you, but could they drag prices down for raws on ge and then get their "main" accounts to buy the raws when they are cheap as when everyone else is forced to sell cheap because of GE prices. At this point they stop flooding the market the raws go back up and they make 100gp a log of the thousands upon thousands that they bought?

Auto's still exist they just can't transfer the money.

My idea is just pure speculation however.

But where is the reward for effort? (Not that they could actually do it anyway).

These kids are in it for quick bucks, and seeing as they can no longer trade - they are quitting cheating in RS, and moving on to pastures new. GF Bots, you may have won nearly every round, but Jagex KO'd you suckers in the 10th.

They're moving on to macroing on their mains now and developing better macros though, is that good? :?

Though JaGEx can keep fighting, in the end, another big change will be needed.
