Cheating at Tests.

I've never cheated on tests and never will. However, homework is a different matter, because I know that not handing in homework gets you the worst of both worlds. The teacher doesn't know how you really are doing, and you get told off for being 'disorganised'. Trust me, I've been there. So, I'll get help from my friend, and vice versa. I bet everyone else in my school does that too.

Yeah; I actually have a hard time remembering someone from high school/college who did not copy homework from others.

We even had social networks under the teacher's noses, for exchanging homework (like if I sucked at math but were good in english or biology, we'd do each other's homework occassionally), or paying a geek a few bucks to do our homework & aid him in some other way like picking him for an easy/physically non-demanding task in sports class etc.

Most homework is just repeating of what you've already learned, so I don't even see it as cheating. But since it's something you'll need to do to pass classes even if you learn nothing from it, you might just as well get it done one way or another.

I've been cheating since my first test in like grade 1 and still do it today. I've become a pro at it now :P, if I have an opening i'll usually take it if I really don't get the stuff were doing. I plan on cheating tomorrow because I'm really screwed :anxious:. This year I haven't really cheated just helped others out by giving them my answers.. Sharing is caring :-w.

But in college I won't cheat.. I don't want to waste my money to get caught and get kicked out. But high school w\e not really a biggie unless its an exam (which I won't).

Interesting thread, thanks for thinking it up.

Here's my little transgression.

Either in my first or second year at secondary school I managed to purchase a complete set of teachers editions books on science at some boot sale.

Whilst there were some subtle differences in the text questions and answers and the exams required a essay which wasn't covered in the books I still managed to get an award in a science related subject every year at school.

Mind you science was always one of my favourite subjects.

Lol in seventh grade i missed a test, so the next day our teacher was going to review it, so he sent me to the room next door(empty) with both doors open. so i kinda heard some of the answers . the test was pretty easy, so i didn't really need to listen, but i thought it was funny.

Yeah man, I don't count copying homework as cheating -- I did it all the time. 0 risk of getting caught and most times its just a pain.

I sometimes 'cheat' on some homeworks, but only on things where it is basically copying out of the book anyways.

Like in Science we have Section Packets, where you mostly go through (in order) picking out all the points from the chapter. You're supposed to read it, but you basically just mindlessly copy anyway. So I don't really think it's very bad to copy on that.

I also copy on things such as vocabulary, it's just looking up stuff...

On things like homework with real questions using the info we've learned, I won't cheat, and I also won't cheat on tests.

I cheat i don't care at all about high school maybe later in college i will reconsider but i can really care less about high school. I however don't cheat by getting the test prior to the exam, me and my friends we look at each others answers which lets us make better answers when we don't know something. We go by the philosophy team work on tests equals better grades. I wonder if anyone here has heard the saying two heads are better than one?

All it needs is one person to put an unusually wrong answer without realising it, then everyone else copies it, and the teacher wonders why a group of people who happen to sit close together all get the same unusual wrong answer.

cheating is a stupid and horrid thing to do.

1) what happens if the person you cheat off has the wrong answer?

2) if they have the right answer, you write it down get a good mark or so. you don't learn anything from your mistakes so future tests will be much harder.

3) your betraying the trust of your classmates and teachers which is horrific.

The last time i cheated was in year 5, and i still feel quilty about it.

if your too dum to get any answers right then you don't deserve to pass. Only the ignorant cheat, if you cheat your dum. Simple as that.

cheaters never win and winners never cheat. remember that.

The only time I cheated on something was like in 4th grade.

But I was homeschooled :wall:

I've never cheated. On tests where I didn't know the answers, I just tried my best.

You just cheat becuase you don't know the answers or did not study for your test.

I did that in a chemistry test and i was one of 4 worst in my class of 23. I got 14/20 and the teacher thought i had studied really hard becuase I failed the previous week miserably with 7.

BTW i got the 2nd highest mark in my class that week.

Anyway the point is that if you don't study for a test when the exam at the end of year comes around you will do badly and that has worse consequences and makes you feel really bad if you do really badly.

Haha, not at our school

You have to watch out for the (I believe they are called caretakers, they clean and control a part of the administration. They walk around the school) , they will ask for your teacher (from the subject you were making) and they will tell the teacher that He was copying from Him.

So its always like :-w when he walks by.

I despise chronic liars and cheaters in real life, but just wanted to say you'll face a really cold reality out of school if you think "cheaters never win" etc. :(

The most succesful people in almost any field lied, cheated, stole, frauded, stepped on others, took other people's ideas, did anything immoral to become succesful and rich.

Honesty really does not go as far as you'd think as an idealistic kid in form 10. At least for anything else than a 'simple life'. Try achieving anything higher than that, taking positions and riches other people want too, and you're in for one filthy, dirty world.

Well, I usually refrain from cheating.

Sometimes, I just can't bear to see the red "x", so I feel like cheating.

But then again, I say "Hey, it's just a test. You won't die if you get it wrong." So, I end up not cheating and feeling happy. :)

[oh man... come on.. i didnt do that bad to your modesty... and i was drunk! you were not! you took advantage of me... wildernessfreelancer!]

Yep, that's what they'll always say, LoL.

hehe, i know the world's winners mostly cheat and that it's a cold harsh world out there. i'm not five. But you can say that those who went far in life and didn't cheat know that they deserve to be in that position, unlike the millions that don't. they'll feel proud, then they have won. but those who cheat will know in thier hearts that they don't deserve to be where there at, that is, if they have a heart....

Back in highschool we had our "cheating arrangement" (seating arrangement if you didn't get it). Also if the test is multiple choice, one tap of the pen is letter A, two taps for letter B and so on.
