December 22, 200718 yr 'the ore is too impure and you fail to refine it' I really hate this message when you smith ore the 50/50 thing is really annoying and when you are f2p (which i currently am) or don't have a ring of forging its really annoying, especially when most the time you smith less than half your ore. What i think would be good if the higher your smithing the higher the sucess rate is because currently even if your are 99 you won't have the chance of sucess than someone of 15. So as i just said the higher your simthing the higher the sucess rate something like this. lvl 15: 50% sucess rate lvl 30: 60% sucess rate lvl 45: 70% sucess rate lvl 60: 80% sucess rate lvl 75: 90% sucess rate lvl 90: 100% sucess rate i think this would be better as it would offer more reward for having a higher smithing level. plz say whether or not you support EDIT: I'm going on holiday tomorrow and won't b back till sunday after christmas (then next day i'm off on another holiday) so I may not post for a while
December 22, 200718 yr Author ideas: --> make ring of forging f2p --> have a higher level requirement for smithing more iron bars
December 22, 200718 yr Just a few notes to your post. I agree, but ring of forgings aren't hard to get. Second, tip it forums are not like RSOF you don't need to have a seperate supporters list you can fit a lot of it in the one post. :-w I've moved this to bugs/suggestions :) It will get a better response there. December 22, 200718 yr I support rings of forging for f2p :anxious: [bleep] the law, they can eat my dick that's word to Pimp
December 22, 200718 yr Your idea is very good, and I'm glad to see it :) Although, this would make the price of iron ore PLUMMIT! I think the reason you have chosen for this rant is kind of wrong aswell, to say the message is annoying is irellevant, but yeah, add me to the supports! Click my HAWT siggy for my HAWT blog! December 22, 200718 yr Semi support. Some things i would change lvl 80- 60% sucess rate lvl 90-70% success rate lvl 95-80% success rate lvl 99-90% success rate Iron bars would plumet in price.
December 23, 200718 yr I don't support. This would really ruin the iron bar/ore market and rings of forging would be dirt cheap. Smithing would be a lot cheaper to level and I dont think thats what jagex intended. 99/99 Cooking. 1500+ total level. 96+ Combat
December 23, 200718 yr I don't support. This would really ruin the iron bar/ore market and rings of forging would be dirt cheap. Smithing would be a lot cheaper to level and I dont think thats what jagex intended. Yeah...There's a reason that only one iron ore, and only iron, is needed to make iron bars. (Compared to other bars, which require at least 2 ores) Although making it so 99 smithing allows 100% could work. December 23, 200718 yr how about 100% at lvl 99 magicy? Members would be really angry if jagex gave this to f2p. But i guess you can add it, i mean, what lvl 99 is going to waste their time smelting iron ores?
December 23, 200718 yr I think Jagex needs to start making rings f2p and that would solve the issue completely. The issue that would've ever occurred with F2P rings is the Ring of Dueling, but now that the Duel Arena is f2p, they can just disable the Castle Wars teleport on free worlds and we're all set. There's no physical reasons that prevent the Ring of Recoil from working on free worlds, nor the Ring of Forging. The Ring of Life would also be a great addition for f2pers, knowing how prone they are to death. don't worry, you are going to "hell" anyway. wanna race to see who gets there first?Officially reached 100 Combat at 1:33PM EST, June 14, 2007First Dragon Drop: Dragon Chain (Dust Devils) @ 10:48PM EST, July 14, 2008, lv113 combat
December 23, 200718 yr Don't support! We don't need MORE prices dropping. That would just flood the market with iron.
December 23, 200718 yr They have it there for a reason. Iron is the only ore that you can smelt into a bar with a single ore and not extra combinations. It is easy to mine, but not easy to smelt, and that's the point. Smithing would become far easier (which they probably don't want) if you just got a whole bunch of iron bars for free. ~Rcty Rcty
December 24, 200718 yr veto veto veto... no no no...not good... rings of forging in f2p; yes. But no increase of success rate. For all the reasons non supporters gave except for the one about prices, I don't know, I don't think it would have an effect on price, but smithing would be cheapened, it's all outlined in the smithing section in skill guides, iron is the most efficient ore to smith, there has to be a downside to it that would not make it too too TOO easy
December 26, 200718 yr I think it would be better for either rings for forging to become f2p OR iron ores taking 2 ores instead of 1 to make a bar but with a 100% success rate. I remember hearing a long time ago that ores had a 50% success rate so it shouldn't affect much. In the case of the latter, the ring of forging to simple bring it to 1 ore per bar. Or if they were to implement your idea, they'd need to lower the rates so that it starts off less than 50 and ends up something like 85-95%.
December 26, 200718 yr Get back to RSOF... :x or never triple (Or double) post again. Forum.tip.it is not half that nooby. *Does not support*
December 27, 200718 yr yopu may not realize it but this will drasticly lower the price of iron bars and hey sometimes a p2p needs 100k smelting 1k iron
December 27, 200718 yr OK 1 Thing why the hell wouldi want to make iron bars on lvl 90 smith??"? tell me tell me why i would want to make iron bars if i can make rune plz explain! How does 20 minutes turn into 2.5 hours? Was your math perhaps magical math?
December 27, 200718 yr I support... anything to improve smithing. It's such a badly neglected skill these days.
