This is actually my first topic here and I don't know if there's already a topic like this.

 

Now, let's move on. How will this new Summoning skill affect Pures or Tanks? I myself have totally no idea O:)

I gotta say though, isn't it amazing how much Jagex has written on summoning, without actually revealing much at all?

Yes it's qite amazing, 3 Develpment Diaries and we have almost NO idea what this skill will be like. :-k

Pking is already dead so summoning won't have that much effect on them as most players who were pkers (pures and tanks) have given up on the game or combat.

Nah most of the pkers probably are levelling their remaining combat skills to be able to keep their char useful in the game.

Well didn't Jagex say it was gonna level players similar to prayer...so I imagine that most pures won't train it.

Gotta agree there, I don't see why anyone wouldn't level up their defence and prayer now, you're just cutting off a huge part of the game for yourself, I find high leveled quests that require a defence level really fun :P

 

 

 

It'd be nice to get some peaks on how summoning will work, seeing a couple of the monsters doesn't do much when you have no idea what it'll cost us for them and how we get them to work. If we had that info we might be able to say, but as a guess I'm going to say they aren't going to help pures. The summoned creatures seem to have pretty low levels from the pictures I've seen, only enough so to do decent damage to pures. But whos to say our creatures won't be pures themselves with low defence and low combat?

Since BH update apart from trying it a few times I havent been in the wild in a while. I am still playing to train combat ready for when the new 1v1 thing comes out next year.

 

 

 

I am not a pure, not in the true sense of the word, but some would call me a barrows pure and I do not intend raising my def above 70.

 

 

 

The update to be honest has give me a good chance to train, Most of my Mellee exp has come from being in the wild, so I hope to add a few levels. I have never really trained mage or range before as they were so low they wernt worth using in the wild where I spent all my time on RS, I should now have time to add levels to each.

 

 

 

As I say I am not pure, but would consider my char specialised for PKing. I will not train summoning until after they release the 1v1 minigame. I will decide from there. I will need to weigh up the pro's/cons, also I enjoyed f2p PKing as much or more than P2P, so I would guess I will probably not.. But I wont rule it out.

We can't say that yet. At a very high level it may be possible to summon a monster which can deal out a large amount of damage and help them greatly.

 

 

 

 

 

For me, i'm annoyed that this update will give me 111 combat just because of getting 1 summoning when the game updates. I probably will not train it, seeing as i'll be non-members when the update comes out :P.

Yeah, everyone mocked them because we thought the subtle clue was let out that it was summoning but they've really kept their cards close to their chests. Letting hints seep out slowly, but never giving us a definite.

I think it is awesome to not know and speculate. I just hope all the anticipation doesn't fizzle once the skill is released. It is the only reason that I am back on runescape.

Yeah, it's as if they are really confident about it, so much so that they just can't keep it in, so are giving us tiny hints, and then it's gonna burst out, let's just hope that it's as good they appear to think it's going to be. :D
