First, a bit about myself. I started playing nearly 3 years ago, and have always played for friends and fun. Range has always been my favorite skill, and castle wars, Dks, and talking to people were my major loves within the game. I'm more of a combat person then a skiller, and never really cared much for money, save when i needed it. Friends are probobly the only reason I am still playing and will continue to play.

 

 

 

I have never been rich. Max amount of gold I ever had was 7m to buy guthans with. My bank's best items were guthans, veracs, lotsa arrows (100k irons BEFORe buy-x) and random junk, but I was always happy with what I had.

 

 

 

And now, to the point:

 

Well, today I came back after a little vacation, and, after a bit of wandering, I decide, "I'm bored." Thinks to self "Hm........ how bout a boss monster? No-one is on to go to DKs. joy. Chaos elemental? I don't feel like dealing with revenants. Revenants! *Goes off to kill Revenant Knight. Coin drop* -.- Oh fine, I guess I'll do as Airlesswig does, off to Armadyl!" Now, i realize with my stats, I'm hardly the best character to solo Kree'arra, and I've only been about 4 times, but I still have a well-rounded tank. Well, I head off to the melting dungeon and start killing spiritual warriors for the entrace fee. However, i brougth a holy book instead of unholy, so Mr. Gorak comes to take a bite out of me, and, during the course of my 40 kill count, proceeds to eat me even if i try to block him behind a wall. *Swordfish drop* I'm saved! Heal up, and into the void.

 

 

 

The fight starts off well enough, 48 ruby bolt spec, followed by a couple high hits before i switch to my diamond bolts. Kree'arra's lil' swordsman is ripping me apart, as well at the avatars melee attack. I'm gulping 3 doses of brew at a time, attacking, then healing more. Pure chaos, good thing too, I didn't come to be bored. That bird had me dancing all over he room to keep it from swooping down and landing a nice melee hit on me, but eventually I was trapped in a corner. still, i kept gulping down my potions and firing off my bolts. Finally, after Armadyl's servant and his bodyguards hit a couple 20s, i shoot the final bolt. Wham, 32 on Kree'arra and the bird falls to the ground. I don't ever look at the drop, I'm to preoccupied with killing the melee servant who is carving me like a roast beast. Then, after a couple seconds, i remember, "oh, what did the bird give me?" Well, i pan the camera around to search for my loot, and i see something blueish on the ground. I think to myself," heh, naw, it isn't......."

 

 

 

It was.

 

 

 

 

 

 

*Insert 15 minutes of fast typing, shoutings, shaking, and pinching myself to make sure I wasn't dreaming*

Well, sadly I couldn't be charitable and give to my friends, I really wish I could return what you have given me, since I wouldn't be playing without them, but this is for you.

 

 

 

Airlesswig, if you read this, thank you. You are my monster hunter aspiration and hero. You inspired me to go to Armadyl in the first place and to monster hunt as much as I do. Keep going, you will acheive your hilt, and, once again, Thank You ^.^

 

 

 

So far, I have purchased a Saradomin Godsword, Armadyl legs, 70 carpentry and 70 prayer. I have roughly 9.5m left in my bank that I am just staring at.

I can't even imagine how that must have felt when you traded it in for 141M. Incredible, I'm sure. I'm actually going to try my luck soloing at Armadyl now, and see if I can pull something good out of it.

I have to say I was a little(nah, make that VERY) surprised to see my name in a topic title. Never knew I actually influenced people, I'm just playing the game the way I like it, but if it inspired you to go to armadyl on your own, that makes me feel pretty good.

 

As for the drop itself, you achieved it way before I could.

 

Hope I can see some more solodrops from you, or from anyone out there, because teaming them takes no skill, but to fight there on your own, being able to die very easily without someone being there to bless your grave...

 

Just make sure that you're not losing your armadyl skirt over other items when you decide to go back for more, because alot of items go over it. They can and will K0 you at one point. My worst was at 65 hp to 0 / 21-21-24hit at the same time.

 

As for the sara gs you bought, it's on my wishlist as well.

 

Looked at my bank lately, noticed I crawled back from close to nothing in september to 100m+ networth, but I won't be satisfied untill I get my very own hilt.
