War_Junky_91
Thanks to that new thread about the new guthix robes i discovered this: [hide] [/hide] I would bet money that is a summoning obelisk. Also there is another one behind the spirit wolf and it looks kind of misty. Maybe that is what happens when you actually summon? For those of you who dont know what a summoning obelisk is: The first obvious concern was that, with such a wide variety of pets and familiars, more players were going to have a follower out at the same time, which could have lead to technical problems like slowdown. This was addressed during the concept stage, by designing the skill to minimise the number of players who will have followers out at the same time. For instance, there is a time limit on how long a familiar will stay summoned (which increases as you train the skill), Summoning energy runs out and needs to be recharged at an obelisk and certain pets can only be tamed at higher Summoning levels
adimadaru
What would a summoning obelisk do exactly? What can I say? I'm a rebel, like Ché Guevara. What the hell is Ash doing while Team Rocket says their rhyme?
C110
Some people said this ages ago :P when the wallpaper was introduced. - I'm not proud of everything I've done, but I have no regrets

demonfirzen
What would a summoning obelisk do exactly? They would most likely recharge your summoning points, as jagex said summoning will drain points similar to prayer.
adimadaru
Aaah, thanks. You think we'll be able to make such a thing in our houses? If that would be the case that'll be cool.. maybe a whole summoning room? What can I say? I'm a rebel, like Ché Guevara. What the hell is Ash doing while Team Rocket says their rhyme? War_Junky_91
I bet we might, i'm thinking the room will either be a dungeony looking room or something like a rocky garden.
@Dan3HitU
Of course you will be able to, Jagex said Summoning assist with almost every skill in some way or another. I'm re-doing my entire house over the weekend so I'm ready for Summoning on Monday (I'm deleting my entire house and building only what I need). I don't think it will help Agility, unless your Beast is going to thrown you up a cliff to get there faster  [-- DYNAMIC SIGNATURES FOR RUNESCAPE 3 & OLDSCHOOL 2007 RUNESCAPE --]
FooK-A-Ji
Perhaps the obelisk is to summoning, what an altar is to prayer. They stated the familiars are only present for a set amount of time after all.
adimadaru
Aren't you taking this whole preparing for summoning thing a little bit to far? :? What can I say? I'm a rebel, like Ché Guevara. calum12
ZOMG!!!!! OOHh..... Summoning obelisks will have to be spaced quite well across the world, especially if it becomes as wide used as prayer, and prayer is combat only. Hmmm.... I need a new siggy, get round to doing it later. Probably.
War_Junky_91
i totally forgot about those, i havent been to that spot in about a year, i didnt realize they updated it 0_o, those might be obelisks, though i'm gonna bet they prolly have something to do with the Wolf Whistle quest
aoe325
That is just scenary, and sort of an easter egg. This is the only trace of the life rune we will ever get to see ingame. It clearly states the life rune is "Ancient" and we can forget about it. Summoning obelisks dont look at all like it anyway. Quest cape obtained at combat level 83, march 07. SwreeTak
Nice find. That obelisk sure looks like it could be used for summoning. Let's hope that we will find out soon, since I have been waiting for summoning to be released for quite a while now... Nenga
If you wanna see then ingame they are the rocks near fally (more like inbetween fally and barb village) i've noticed this since the wall paper came out. Ponies!
