Also anyone here like Tyranitars? I find there type of being dark and rock cool.

That is one of my favourites. As is Tauros. I used to have both on my team (Silver), but I restarted and no longer have a Tauros (and only a Pupitar). I have yet to use a Tauros on D/P, though.

Graveler was my awesome pokemon back in Gold. Magnitude, Rollout, Harden, and Explosion is unstoppable!

EDIT: I just found out that Defense Curl DOUBLES the power of Rollout, making Rollout's power when used 5 times in a row have a killer power of 960!!!

EDIT2: More research. Ice Ball has the same effect as Rollout but only the Walrein evolution tree can learn it. Poliwag, Delibird, and Mudkip can learn it through breeding. I'm definitely taking advantage of that too.

Back when i got my first Pokemon game (Crystal) i loved Granbull sooooo much (still one of my favorites). I loved it so much that i got it to lv 100 before i beat Misty XD

Sadly i was 7 back then and couldn't find that hidden thing in cerulean gym so i had to restart it and lost my Granbull forever D:

After that in the new game i figured out where it was hidden and got a lv 100 Dragonite, but it still didn't match my love for that Granbull

Tyranitars pwn as well ;)

Tyranitar and Gyarados and among of my favorite boosting sweepers. After a Dragon Dance, they're pretty unstoppable to a lot of stuff. There are other Pokemon like Lucario and Metagross that have great boosting potential, but I like Tyranitar and Gyarados the most (Nasty Plot Azelf is good too, but lacks some speed to beat choice scraf revenge killers).

Bullet Punch Scizor kinda ruins any Tyranitar that isn't especcially devoted to defense or using a Babiri berry, though.

On my first Pokemon game (Blue), my ultimate (not rare candied) pokemon was a Tauros. It made it to level 82 before my file was deleted by mistake. My next one was a level 100 Blastoise, but like you said, it's just not the same.

Zapdos baton passing an Agility to Metagross is fantastic as well, Gliscor works well too, and can pull off a Swords Dances too, if needed.

My favourite pokemons were always mixed.

My first lv 100 was a dewgong in blue and i loved it. Then gengar, but the spark had calmed down.

in gold/silver versions (had both :P) i always enjoyed Houndoom and tyranitar.

3rd gen there wasnt much that caught my eye apart from flygon and milotic, but when i got fire red i fell in love with vaporeon, nidoking and dragonite.

I dont have a ds so no 4gen for me.

I miss the 90's...

I miss the old Pokemon, back when the Pokemon were cool and didn't have stupid names. Back when Brock was obsessed with girls and Misty was on the show.

Pokemon have always had stupid names, Brock is still a womanizer, and there needs to be variety. Misty outlived her time. They just need to axe Brock and Ash.

hi guys. i really enjoyed playing pokemon as a kid (logged 1000+ hours from yellow, crystal, colloseum(maxed time), ruby, emerald, leaf green, XD, and one of the mystery dungeons).

i stopped playing completely about 1 month after the mystery dungeon games were released, mainly because i started playing runescape around then and i didn't want to buy a ds to play diamond/pearl(gameboy advance ftw). also, imo: blue mystery dungeon or whatever its called kind of made me feel like i was too old for pokemon.

lately though, for some reason i feel like i want to start playing pokemon again. however, i wouldn't start until may-ish due to school and other comitments. a friend has offered to sell a dsi for cheap and i'd probably get pearl/ss.

since i really have nothing to add, nor do i know a single 4th generation pokemon (besides a few from ssbb) i'd just like to know what you guys think of my old lineup, and if these pokemon would be effective in the new games: (all of these were collected through numerous games and i now have them in colloseum along with my other level 100's)

dragonite: level 94

-double team

-thunder

-outrage

-fly

snorlax: level 99

-rest

-attract

-snore

-water pulse (or surf)

tyranitar: level 100

-crunch

-earthquake

-dragon claw

-brick break (or strengh.. again can't remember)

(often swapped with my level 100 armaldo- aerial ace, ancient power, water pulse, earthquake?)

metagross: level 100

-pyschic ?

-earthquake

-sludge bomb

-meteor mash (or double team)

Ludicolo: level 83

-rain dance

-giga drain

-ice beam

-hydro pump

(ludicolo was a replacement for a milotic which was my prized pokemon.. level 100 with rain dance and other moves.

salamence: level 89

-double edge

-???

-shadow ball??

-rock tomb

(salamence was the replacement for a level 100 blaziken since i tried to build my stratogy)

I'd always start with ludicolo and dragonite.. ludicolo would use rain dance and dragonite would usually use double team and then i forget.. something about thunder and rain dance?

what do you guys think?

Here's what I see. Comments bolded, but what you really need to say is whether you're focused on competitive or casual play. I'm going to assume casual.

dragonite: level 94

-double team

-thunder

-outrage

-fly

Dragonite is a fantastic physical attacker. Outrage capitalizes on this, although Fly (and any other charging attack) is TERRIBLE for play vs humans. If you want flying STAB, you really have no options, but Dragonite has plenty of other options. Earthquake is good.

Thunderbolt > Thunder, does more damage in the long run.

Double Team isn't very reliable, it's only annoying at best. Extremespeed is almost a must on Dragonite, due to its high attack but lackluster speed. You can only get an Extremespeed Dragonite once though, by beating the Dragon Master's test in the Den of Dragons.

snorlax: level 99

-rest

-attract

-snore

-water pulse (or surf)

Sleep Talk is a much better option over Snore. Water pulse is useless. Since you have rest already, why not make it a curselax? Rest/Curse/Sleeptalk/Body Slam makes for a pretty strong combo.

tyranitar: level 100

-crunch

-earthquake

-dragon claw

-brick break (or strengh.. again can't remember)

(often swapped with my level 100 armaldo- aerial ace, ancient power, water pulse, earthquake?)

Tyranitar is much better. Try a Dragon Dance variant. Dragon Dance/Stone Edge/Crunch/Earthquake

metagross: level 100

-pyschic ?

-earthquake

-sludge bomb

-meteor mash (or double team)

Metagross is a physical attacker. Psychic has no place. Agiligross is one of the strongest physical sweepers out there. Go for Agility/Meteor Mash, and two of either Earthquake, Fire Punch, or Thunder Punch.

Ludicolo: level 83

-rain dance

-giga drain

-ice beam

-hydro pump

(ludicolo was a replacement for a milotic which was my prized pokemon.. level 100 with rain dance and other moves.

No use using Rain Dance if you don't have a Rain Dance team. A Dragon Dance Kingdra fills this role better imo. Subsititute/Dragon Dance/Outrage/Waterfall.

salamence: level 89

-double edge

-???

-shadow ball??

-rock tomb

Since you lack special attackers, why not take Salamence a special attacker?

Draco Meteor/Fire Blast/Dragon Pulse/Hydro Pump, and give it Choice Specs. If you want to use a mixed Salamence, try: Draco Meteor/Fire Blast/Brick Break/Crunch. You could replace Crunch with Roost for healing.

Just read on Serebii that in the US GameStop the preorder gifts for Heart Gold and Soul Silver are figures like the girinitina preorder for platinum at toys r us i think. Not as good as the styluses imo

Just info case you are too lazy to check a fansite.

Good pokemon trio for the battle frontier(single battle) in pkmn platnium?

I use Gliscor(sp?) with ice/fire/thunder fang and earthquake.

Gallade with leaf-blade/stone edge/ psycho cut/ drain punch

Tyranitor with thunderbolt/crunch/earthquake/stone edge

Start off with Gliscor then gallade then tyrantior.

Opinons?

Don't you know the first rule of MMO's? Anyone higher level than you has no life, and anyone lower than you is a noob.

People in OT eat glass when they are bored.

So a new set of pokemans? and also is there a release date?

I believe Japan will receive it in Spring of 2011.
