June 23, 200818 yr Really poor game yesterday night. I thought Italy was better, but Spain in the semi finals is nice for a change as well. Casillas did great in the penelty shoot out. That shot by DeRossi was great. Good news for Russia as well. I think they have more chance against Spain than Italy. Germany vs. Russia would be a nice final. I don't think Turkey has got much chance on the finals. Their team is down to 14 players at this moment. And there's two keepers with those 14. Yes, about half of Turkey's players are banned from the next game (too many yellow cards), I just can't see how this is going to end up anywhere except Germany's win (or draw in the actual playing time, but Germany winning in Extra time) Edit- Oh well, somehow fubol managed to delete the poll I think.. :lol: Trying to re-add it hold on...

Ended up as champions. Turkey was losing to Czech republic 2-0 in 65th minute and ended up winning the match 3-2 just a few days ago... Wont say no more, just that everything is possible in sports. I'm not really cheering for Turkey, but saying it's possible they could beat Germany or even be Euro champions.

Well, I might have been better saying it just typifies Turkish football fans as they are renowned for incidents like that although that is still a bit of a generalisation. There was also several stabbings that night and two deaths and the Turkish courts were extremely lenient with the murderers who had a criminal history seeing as two innocent people with no previous convictions lost their lives. Anyway, lets drop this. I know that I started it, but I don't want to have an argument tbh.

He kept getting everyones names wrong, it was driving me nuts - he kept mixing Senna and Silva up the whole game. He's irritating usually but now he's just intolerable - I wish they'd force him to retire. Rustu Recber is actually much, much better than Volkan as a goalkeeper. But when it comes to players... Yes, about half of Turkey's players are banned from the next game (too many yellow cards), I just can't see how this is going to end up anywhere except Germany's win (or draw in the actual playing time, but Germany winning in Extra time) Rustu is/was a good keeper but he's been in a semi-retirement for a while now, I don't even think he's first choice at Besiktas. He looked a little rusty when he played the last game but I hope that doesn't last. It's a shame that Turkey have so many injuries and suspensions because if they hadn't, I'd have actually fancied them to sneak by Germany. That being said, if the Germans are winning by less than 3 goals with 10 minutes left I wouldn't rule Turkey out lol. I think Russia really has their game on. Russia wasnt even in the World Cup, but with their new British coach and a few stars playing their best games this could maybe end to a championship.
