If I ever get this game it will be through piracy. Honestly I don't care for DRM.

That's how I got it. I was excited for the game, but there was no way I was going to pay for it because I knew it was going to be a let down. Which it was. I had fun for a day or two but I haven't opened it up since then. It just can't hold my attention and I personally think you progress through the game too quickly. I got up to civilization mode on my lunch break/free period on the second day I played. -.-

Y'know people said that this would be the first example of pollinated content and the content people have made is kinda crap.I can count what looked good by users on one hand, with probably the best being the tumbler but the rest are maxis creations.I think that its obvious that they moddled a building then segmented it and added it a toolbox so you have these incredibly specific pieces which can only create a limited amount of creations.

I thoght it was a bit of a letdown and personally i found the space stage a big letdown because of people hailing it as the true game.

I will come back to it though, its something whivh i think can benefit over time as creations manifests accross peoples games, its kinda like eve where you walk away and let it do its thing.

Wow, mxm, you make some great creations lol, most of mine end up looking stupid. :wall: But yeah, I'd have to agree with Del, you do advance to quickly, so far, my favorite parts have been cell, creature, and space stages. Tribal and civilization weren't really all that fun to me, but I'm loving space stage now. :twss:

I prefer to take my games sans rootkits and un-deletable files, but thats just me.

He said he got to Space phase in two days.

What a really big let down this game is. Cell phase was good, creature was mostly good (disappointed by how easy it was to just go onto the next stage - if you die, who cares? You get a new creature anyways). Tribal was a letdown (oh, you only get pretty much 2 good weapons - throwing spears being pretty much the best - then you can just take over or ally with everyone really really easily). Civilization goes way too fast. Space has way too many faults with it, I'll name some of them:

1) You can take over a city in 10 seconds litterly, and then bam, the cities gone.

2) You have to go to the planet itself - you can't have it carted to you or lumped onto one planet?

3) Colonies can only hold 5 spice for every city - you can generally get 60-120+ spices every hour.

4) Too frequent ecodisasters, pirate raids, and enemy raids.

5) Enemy civs you've never met demanding millions of sporebucks just to make them not angry.

I'd have to give this game a rating of 6\10. :S I'd rather play R:TW TBH.

Seems to be my problem.

I know one big problem i have, the use of the mousewheel.I dont ahve one of those trilliopn dpi mice or gaming ones with super sensitive scroll wheels but the scroll wheel on my mouse sucks and blows. It makes shaping things at times impossible and i have to destroy the section im working on because my mouse does crap all to reverse it.Can you reconfigure it or is it just that my mouse sucks...

That should work. If not, I have no idea what else you can do.

Thank God I got my money back and got another copy for free. Good game, but most of it got boring quickly. Too many pirate raids, your allies [bleep]ing about whatever, ecosystem collapses, etc, got annoying quick. Plus it ended with most of the people I met being crazy religious zealots demanding ridiculous amounts of money just so they'll point their death rays elsewhere. So I go blow up and capture their system, then it ends up with one of my few allies having been allied with them and now wanting to blow me up. Gonna cheat some stuff, get these people off my back.

The game itself is relatively fun. The creature stage being the best for just roaming about and upgrading as much as you can. Problem is how fast the game just rushes you through.

You can though. You just have to make sure you don't hit the button at the bottom, or else you evolve. I stayed on pass the point where i should of gone to civilization as a different creature, and my nest moved even further on the island. We ended up coming across much stronger monsters, making things really hard.

When I stayed on I didnt get any more DNA points. Although we continued to migrate, I couldnt breed any more. Maybe im doing it wrong, ill try again at some point.

A great game kinda.... up until space stage.

Got to space stage all in 1 sitting. Whole game is abit to fast and rushed when really all of the objectives are pretty easy to finish.

Space stage is such a load of rubbish, so boring and pointless. Seems like an open ended game that has no direction, anything interesting or meaningful to do.

The whole creator thing seems abit mis leading though since you cant really do what you want unless you have the money to do so, thus meaning you are limited.

Spore Patch

The focus of this patch is to fix some bugs that have been reported and to respond to feedback we've been seeing from the community about tuning and stability. We managed to squeak in a few fun things too; there's a cool cheat that allows you to turn your creature into a blocky representation of themselves, a new "inspection" feature for the creature creator to browse the parts stats that you have applied to your creature, and the much-requested "evoadvantage" cheat - you'll now be able to start a new creature game with a more evolved creature of your choice!

To get the patch, launch the EA Download Manager to download and install it. If you didn't install the EADM when you installed Spore, you can get it from http://files.ea.com/downloads/eacore/eadm-installer[Caution: Executable File].

This is a PC only patch. Mac users should check back soon!

Features

* New Cheat: "evoadvantage". Enter this cheat when are starting a new Creature game to choose any creature from the Sporepedia. Start a new game with one of your more evolved creatures!

* Display part statistics when you are in Build mode. Rollover any part and hold down the 'i' key.

* New Cheat: "blocksmode". Turns creatures into their blocky representations.

* More style filters. Open the cheat window and type: "stylefilter -microscope" or "stylefilter -norainbows" or "stylefilter -nextgen" to see the new styles

* Added 70 new planet scripts with a low terraform score, especially of the "hot and high atmosphere" type

Graphics/Aesthetics

* Animation improvements

* Improved the planets fogging, blooming and lighting

* Fixed animation issues with tool handling, hand walking and some of the more oddly shaped creatures

Tuning

* Creature phase: Improved the pacing towards the end of the game, and increased the challenge in Normal and Hard modes.

* Tribe phase: Increased the challenge in Normal and Hard difficulty modes.

* Civilization phase: Increased the challenge in Normal and Hard difficulty modes.

* Space phase: Made Empires in Easy and Normal modes demand reasonable amounts of money in exchange for peace and adjust the level of punishment if the player doesn't pay

* Space phase: Made disasters less likely to occur in Easy and Normal modes and increased the time between each attack from the enemy empire when the player is at war.

Miscellaneous

* Creature phase: Improved the way posse members behave during threatening situations and fights.

* Space phase: Made finding your home world and colonies easier in the Galactic view.

* Tribe phase: Made it so that tribe members can travel on steep hills if they need to do so now, but their speed will be reduced a lot.

* Fixed an issue with attacks not working on some bigger animals and larger animals not dying correctly

* Fixed collect mission not completing correctly when all parts have been collected

* Fixed problems with the "Rolling Thunder" and "Déjà Vu" achievements not being awarded as they should

* Fixed floating parts not being deducted from the budget when loaded into creator

* Fixed an issue with the rotation rings not resizing correctly when a part was resized and improved their look

* Fixed an issue where the terraforming score of planet could differ when revisiting a solar system

* Fixed the keyboard controls for zoom & pitch in the Colony Planner not working properly

* Fixed a crash that could occur when watching an epic creature attack a city

* Fixed some issues where the game would freeze when using the Creature Tweaker tool or when capturing a planet in solar view

* Fixed an issue where not all tribe members would obey the raid order when a large group was ordered to raid

* Fixed an issue where banning a creation from one of your other saved games would black out the main menu

Patch Fixes

* (MAC Only) Corrected patch detection text to display in correct language. Once patched, subsequent patch detection will display correctly.

* (MAC Only) Re-mapped the @ symbol on the French AZERTY keyboard

* Improved thumbnail resolutions for saved creatures.

* Added five new animations, recorded when creating animated GIFs in Test Drive Mode.

* Fixed a randomly occurring system hang.

* Fixed a crash associated with EADM.

* Creatures no longer disappear from the Sporepedia when the save flow is interrupted.

* Corrected the Audio buzzing found on systems with nForce2 integrated audio.

* Updated Spanish and Polish readme files.

* Updated the EULA found in the installer.

* Fixed disparity between server and game complexity limits.

* Integrated the newest save creature PNG.

NOTE: This allows creatures PNGs made with Spore to be drag-and-dropped into the Spore Creature Creator. Spore Creature Creator players who do not patch will not be able to drag-and-drop PNGs created in patched versions of the Spore Creature Creator or Spore.

* Improves overall stability.

I am loving this patch. I have actually noticed a great deal less of pirate attacks, although i get alot still from a waring system, but that is to be expected. Also, my laptop runs the game about 90% better I would say, and the graphics are soooo much better, even just on low. The game is a lot nicer now.
