Spies and snipers are very good to chose when the map has atleast 20 players on it not matter the map.

 

But yeah i even use them when theres 5 players playing, becouse only a pro can use them even 1 vs 1 \ :wall:

Scout is the best 1v1 class, by far.

Dead Ringer+knife taunt=awesome. Stand outside the enemy spawn at startup, equip ringer, taunt as gate opens. They never see it coming. I did it on Egypt, and when the heavy in front of my corpse suddenly died everyone was like, "Holy crap!" All talk was on, and I heard one guy say, "ok guys, there's a spy with a ringer". He kept it up everytime I died, even when I had the cloak and dagger. So I had them on their toes the whole time, even when I didn't have them.

 

 

 

It was the first time anyone on that server had seen that in action. :thumbsup:

So taunting doesn't require you to be uncloaked and you can still get a kill?

It's possible to taunt and cloak in quick succession. I don't know about the Ringer though, but I've seen yotube vids of it being done.

There's a reason they're support classes. If you try to take on any class head-on, 1v1 as spy, you'll die. Unless of course you get a facestab.

If you knife taunt while having the dead ringer out, and the feign death is activated the taunt still works while you are cloaked. and since the dead ringers cloak reduces damage by 90% and doesn't flicker, they usually just walk into you wondering why the hell they can't walk forward, then die. Funny as hell :3

Spy is really horrible at 1 v 1, if it comes down to 1 v 1 with a decent player your best bet is to cloak away, if you don't have cloak, dodge until you do and then make a break for it. Or just spam like hell and pray for a lucky headshot :P

I had some epic taunt kills on dustbowl as spy when my team was pubbin'. I really hope valve doesn't patch that.

I like the Hunstman a lot more than the sniper rifle. Easier to run'n'gun, sort of, and you don't have to be nearly as precise. I'll usually fire somewhat blindly around a corner and >50% of the time I'll get at least a hit. Many headshots that way.

Only thing with huntsman is it is more of a luck gun then skill. It's not really hard to shoot around a corner, of course you'll hit someone. I ended up stop using it because I couldn't get a kill when it MATTERED. Sniper can be pretty good with support up in closer range though with jarate/huntsman at time though.

Yea, it's pretty hard to get a kill you mean to get. Takes a lot of leading depending on how far away the target is.

I'm pretty good as a spy 1v1, just because I'm pretty good at pulling off headshots. Killing a pyro running at you is so satisfying, as they're pretty much the anti spy class.

That's true, but I'm pretty good with the ambassador in general. I wouldn't bet on me against say, a heavy in 1v1 with me as a spy, but pretty much everything else other than a scout I can usually beat 1 on 1. But of course it depends on how good the other person is.

I know, and I've gotten tons of kills that way. But when you get a regular fire arrow kill, it's just the normal arrow symbol but on fire. This looks like a flaming backstab. I think it means the fire effect killed him, not the arrow damage, but I don't know for sure. My second guess is a firey headshot, but that looks nothing like a headshot.

Could it be anything to do with the fact that the guy you killed was a spy? =/

And jj, they keyword there is "almost". I love ubers :thumbsup: Plus it's more that I was awesome and was head of the point list in 2/3 games and at least present somewhere in the other ones than me pwning you.
