remember varrock server 1?

anyone remember when server 1 varrock square was like the place to be if you were trading. It wasn't anything like rs2 varrock. Youd have anyone selling stuff there from r2hs to newbs who killed a thousands dark wizzies just to sell you those 120 natures for 100 gp ea ("selling new runes!!") i miss that almost as much as pking. "Market Value" and all that crap didnt matter as much. If you had 22k and needed a rune long you could probably get it there even though it was worth more. Now you have damn rs2 with this grand exchange bs and all that unfair trade [cabbage] just ruins the whole feel of trading with other players. They might as well just stock everything in the general store as they have already set the price.

What feel are you talking about? You had two choises, either shouting for ages or ripping yourself off. What an amazing feelings. No matter how crappy the GE is, I'll never miss that.

When everything's been said and done, more has been said than done.

All skills 80+

Varrock server 1 was horrible. Sitting there for hours on end, getting stupid trades. I remember once trying to buy a rune battle axe (or maybe it was a rune long) for Dragon Slayer, it took me three hours.

Best games ever, in order:

Final Fantasy VII - PlayStation

Gears of War - Xbox 360

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic - Xbox

Fable II - Xbox 360

Dead Rising - Xbox 360

Should have walked 30 seconds south to buy it from the Champs guild... :wall:

- Only character in Runescape History maxed out in RSC and RS2

Okay i wont miss this ever but Ge isnt perfect bujt not horrible, If GE had a set middle price like it does now, but no flux limits it would be nice and such as Phats cant sell for that price so if no flux limits could sell at any price and also. I dont like the if you pay more then its listed for you get a refund, you were willing to pay that amount the person selling should keep the extra.

i dont think id be really playing if that was how rs was today, heard alot about rs from the hardcore people but like one of the tip.it's top story things said. the range was as slow as melee so it wasnt worth lvling. guessing there was probably more skills like that and yea rs2 made everything really worth lvling. i even made a tank for f2p even though melee's supposed to be stronger. but somehow it owns everything with the same combat (sometimes higher :D). and look at the difference between graphics. classic looks like southpark

Your mother looks like southpark, RSC for the win.

rsc combat style > rs2's

Range might not have been as powerful but it still had other advantages. You could range other people's NPC's. You could go into the wild and find anyone fighting and when they get low hp, shoot them.

I also liked how magic effected your combat. I also miss 3 hitting. :(

It changed towards the end of RSC though, Jagex put code in the game that calculated the person who made over 51% damage on a player/NPC and gave XP/loot accordingly. In late-RSC it wasn't possible to just wait until a, say, lesser demon had 2hp and shoot it with fire blast once to get free loot.

It sounds like he's referring to killing players in which case you could just shoot once and get the kill. They only changed it for npcs for damage.

I lol'd at this. you obviously didn't read the post you quoted as it says he needed it for dragon slayer. your posts seem to be the most laughable on the rsc board

as for the original poster, taking player to player trading out of the game was a horrible thing to do. additionally many of the updates that have come around lately have taken the realism out of the game that was present in classic. Honestly, hundreds of years ago people would have to walk to the market and stand there all day selling their items, it was part of life and people accepted it. God didn't 'update' his creation because people didn't want to put up with part of life. jagex shouldn't have either.

He could still have walked into champs guild and bought rune long instead of standing 3 hours at varrock server 1. So how is his post so laughable?

Must have been a crappy deal if no one wanted to sell for 3 hours anyway

Come on now fook, you can't get into champs guild until you have completed dragon slayer. That is why his post is so laughable.. along with whoever said "buying r2h 50k" as their first r2h.... =D>
