RuneScape High Detail To Be Debuted At E3

Featured Replies

I disagree.

I think it's a good idea, because it will show how good RuneScape might become graphically to people that don't play the game and don't know much about it.

You understand that even with how "amazing" these graphics are to you compared to the graphics of WOW or Tabula Rasa or Warhammer the people who play those games will just point and laugh.

Off topic: Whenever 3 hit u posts, everyone hits the flame button. Why is that? :?

Because he's just here to advertise his signatures.

introducing RS at E3 will be a good thing because it will show people how RS is and will make them understand why RS is the 2nd most played game on the Net

It isn't. WOW is first and Habbo Hotel is second.

Great advertisement for the game, let's see if it stands out from the rest, like the dude above said before, "it's the most powerful Java-based game" :geek:

...instead of bringing in immature gaia people, it will bring in some nerds who will get pissed off if you kill their goblin.

You just said the same thing twice.

Habbo Hotel isn't even on the mmogchart list, and since Habbo Hotel has more active players then RuneScape it's second.

May I ask what Habbo Hotel is exactly?

Thanks to Killerwat for the sig!

not sure how I feel about this.

Same here. I mean its good to always get new players and this is 100x better than having TV commercials like WoW. But unless these graphics are AMAZING, its not going to be that popular at E3.

Ummm... No. Not even close.

ATM:

#5037 Habbos online now!

There are currently 89449 people playing! (Runescape)

Your being an idiot right now, people online doesn't matter as that changes dramatically, it's based on active accounts. According to Jagex there are 5 million active RS accounts, but according to the company that runes Habbo Hotel there are 7.5 millions Habbo Hotel accounts.

^ there is a difference between 5m active accounts and 7.5m accounts.

I would hardly describe after July 14-17th as being "early july" as Jagex said the update would be rolled out.

The graphics will be out by then, not they'll come out during that period of time

The thread starter said they're being "debuted" at E3.

Debut:

- 1. A first public appearance, as of a performer.

Also considering companies have rarely, if ever, shown existing designs at E3, but upcoming games, expansion packs, updates, etc, not after they've already been released.

Agreed, but the question still remains. Could you call July 14 "early July"? The furthest I'd call early July is July 7.

First week is as far as I'll go with Early July, which is next week.

US, June 24, 2008 - Jagex has confirmed with IGN that the long-awaited (and talked about) RuneScape III will debut at E3 under a new name, RuneScape High Detail. Few details are known at this time, other than the fact that it will have a completely new look and has been in the works for a very, very long time.

Where exactly did Jagex say that, care to post a source?

I think it was a bad attempt at a joke.

Runescape has their downfall. The immature F2P community, which may drive away new customers.

If that new customer is really enjoying runescape, It shouldn't be to hard to put a few months of immaturity behind you unlit you get your first membership.

It could be released to the players first, then shown at E3.

Wait...that actually makes sense, XD.

Runescape HD? :) Nice to see Jagex going to E3, looking forward to see the response from the press there ;)

I'd bet my webcam 2.5 million of those accounts are created by idiotic 4channers.

true dat, plus if they get more people in they will need more content to keep them happy so more and better :-)

Habbo Hotel isn't even on the mmogchart list, and since Habbo Hotel has more active players then RuneScape it's second.

erm... when the heck did Habbo start being an MMO?? There are no MMO elements to it other than a couple of minigames but even then its basically a regular casual game with a 3D interface. Its way more a social networking site (like a 3d facebook) or a virtual world (like Second Life but without the furries) so why should they be included in an MMO list?

Not saying that they aren't big (cause they so very obviously are) but they are not an MMO and bringing them into a talk about MMOs is like saying 'well your Rugby team may be the 2nd biggest but my Football team is way bigger'

Any Massive Multi-Player Online Game is an MMO, which both Habbo and Second Life are.
