RuneScape High Detail To Be Debuted At E3

This could be like miniclip but instead of bringing in immature gaia people, it will bring in some nerds who will get pissed off if you kill their goblin.

How is that different from how it is now?

Jagex aren't going to E3 any more, at least, that's what I was told.

Who told you this? The Easter Bunny?

I think if Jagex actually is going it'll bring a lot of good publicity. But IDK, it could go either way..

With only press and media allowed at E3 now, I think that based on the fact that Runescape is a browser-based online game, these new graphics, from what I've seen, could receive some good ratings. This might even boost the population of Runescape a bit more, not that we really need it xD

The June BTS still says:

At the end of the month, there will be a break of a couple of weeks with no game updates. These two weeks are hugely important to us, as they allow us to prepare for the major graphical improvement in early July. It's one of the most complex releases we've ever attempted, so we need the extra time to get it ready and make sure the launch goes smoothly.

If anybody has noticed how Jagex works and thinks...... if this showed any signs of delay (to mid July rather than early) they would have edited out of changed this section with much haste...... so I think they have some miss infomation in that article, and don't believe that it is the debut.

I hope 3___hit___u was misinformed too, although I know you have connections so I may have to take your word for it..... as I think Jagex could benefit allot form E3 (and I would love to hear reviews)

I would hardly describe after July 14-17th as being "early july" as Jagex said the update would be rolled out.

early really means that it is in the first half of the month and since the 14th is in the first half it is "early"

also it will probably be realeased to the players on the 14th also.

I think this is a good idea, but they will need to emphasize that it is run on Java and an internet browser.

RuneScape III will debut at E3 under a new name, RuneScape High Detail. Few details are known at this time, other than the fact that it will have a completely new look and has been in the works for a very, very long time.

-There is no Runescape 3

-There is already a high detail

-it couldn't possibly be debuting on the 17th when it's being released in early July

-Dunno about "completely"

-Does a year constitute a very very long time?

So I guess IGN a highly reliable Gaming source is wrong then huh?, yawn.

Why do ppl think it is good for more ppl to join. From the company's perspective it's good, but in reality it wont be so great. The worlds will just be overpopulated. Even if they add more worlds it won't really help. The graphics will be good because some areas in runescape really look like crap.

Ohnoes :ohnoes: :ohnoes: :ohnoes: :ohnoes:

Funorb games best not go downhill while they maintain these 'new' graphics.

Theres this annoying glitch on funorbs new arcanist update, Me being one of the few still affected by it, and after over a week since the updates, It hasn't been fully fixed, Making me wonder, is jagex neglecting us loyal Funorbers for these new runescape graphics?

FunOrb and Runescape are maintained by two completely different teams at JaGeX.

People who judge games wholly on graphics are a bit silly anyways. Gameplay plays a huge part in a game. Not just graphics.

While this may be true E3 is about wowing people. These graphics aren't going to wow anyone.

I hope most people think what I'm thinking...

WoW has way over rated graphics, and a pretty crappy PvP system. But it has a fairly decent PvE.

Guilded Wars has much better graphics and much better PvP, but its down fall is pretty boring PvE. You also start to lose interest in the game fairly quick.

Its going to be the same ol' ol' for most of these guys. Unless they've managed to do some complete over haul on their weak sides.

Runescape may have the upper advantage here. Jagex really wants to show off their new graphics. This is what may cause them to stand out, a complete graphics over haul; a huge improvement. But like all things, Runescape has their downfall. The immature F2P community, which may drive away new customers.

This is either a complete success for Jagex, or something that could really hurt them.

Because being highly reliable makes you knowledgable of Runescape, which they probably have never even played more than 5 minutes before reporting on Jagex's involvement of E3. I'm going to believe Runescape who not only said that there WILL BE NO RS3, and that this was going to be called "Full Detail" (High detail already exists). E3 is 14-17. 14 is a SATURDAY if you'd checked a calendar which would mean that if the graphics are debuting, then it won't be released until at the event or after, which would put it at least the 17th.

A year doesn't constitute a very very long time for developing anything. If so, Valve beats out Jagex every time they put out a new Half Life 2 episode.

So yeah, could you just link me to your armoury profile/s so I can check your arena ratings, guild progression and gear.

Wow has a fantastic art style which is why people make a fuss about the graphics, and even then I don't hear people making out like they're amazing.

Anyway, people saying graphics don't make a difference are fools.

Everytime you begin to explore a new area the graphics will probably be what will spur you on, when you see somebody in amazing gear, the graphics will play a big factor in how much you want it. Graphics are a huge part of a MMORPG, MMORPG's are about creating an identity for yourself and being immersed in a world, both rely heavily on graphics.

On topic, it's possible IGN just meant that this would be the first time Jagex debuted the graphics at an event. It's not like Runescape gets coverage from IGN so most of their subscribers won't know about it so it'll be news to them. Oh and the 14th of July is mid July, I don't think Jagex would refer to it as early July.

Not a good idea. They're going to be shot down by many other online games in the public eye.

I disagree.

I think it's a good idea, because it will show how good RuneScape might become graphically to people that don't play the game and don't know much about it.

i agree to you dissagreeing with that statement

introducing RS at E3 will be a good thing because it will show people how RS is and will make them understand why RS is the 2nd most played game on the Net

Amen to that. I had Guild wars when i was starting to get bored of RS and i played that game for 5 days before it got boring. The pvp is fun though.

I'm sooooo happy that G4 is going to cover E3 now  I have to see this. Hope they do a little segment on it.
