It's really cold where i live, I'm not dero I'm just having a bit of fun, last time that group of guys came up to me i was with my little brother and i had to get him to run and got bashed up. :/ if i didn't have my fake gun I would have been in some trouble

At night theres no way you can really identify that "gun" in your hands for what it is, so who came blame people who running away when some twerp has something that looks like a gun.

 

 

 

If someone had called the police over here in the uk, your be surrounded by police officers weilding machine guns at you for holding something that looks like a gun and then aiming it like a gun. In this day and age you just cant take chances with people like you, who think its fun to wander around with what looks like a gun in your hand.

Yes, having (fake) guns and scaring people with it is 'lol'. Hey, I bet that shooting at people for just looking wrongly at you is even more 'lol'.

 

 

 

Accidents happen quite easily, and by allowing guns you increase the chance of innocent people getting shot by quite a lot. Just imagine a kid finding a loaded gun (and yes, some people just aren't careful enough, yet they have no problem in getting a gun in the legalised system) and playing with it.

Oh by the way, i live in a rural area and it would take about 20 minutes for police to get here.

Letting someone has a gun is pretty stupid. It will just give them courage and opportunity to do crime. Having a gun will only deter crime if you visibly carry the gun, and I don't think it is all that socially acceptable to do that.

 

 

 

And if they shoot before you know they're there, what use is that gun? The way I see it, I'd be much more willing to shoot someone who is armed with a gun than someone just standing there holding nothing. Also, blitz tactic (This is a situation used by the attacker). You rush the other person, prevent them from drawing their gun, confiscate their gun. Now look what's happened, the criminal has two guns to use, all thanks to your insistence that guns, which are pretty much the backbone of crime, prevent crime.

 

 

 

What about highschool shootings, I don't think most of those were done with blackmarket weapon, I think those were either bought by the shooter, or stolen from daddy's gun cabinet.

simple answer because australia considers wants to be better in stability. every country is like it. in australia we have: taxes for hospital covers, gun laws to PREVENT crime as much as possible (though peeps are resorting to melee weapons now), school uniform, even for us in year 12 we still get cracked down on it and the school i goto isnt excactly very well funded. to be honest, i think its dumb for 'ye to be walk'n around with a replica of a gun in some way. i mean, in Air Cadets, if you point anything that resembles a weapon, weather it be water pistol or a compleatly unfunctional gun, you can be charged for it. if any NSW australians remember the crossbow incident in 2002 at a school called Tomaree High? theres your reason we have laws. (shot his gf through the stomach and another girl in the leg with a barbed tipped crossbow bolt.)

While I can definitely see outlawing handguns and anything over-the-top for hunting (is hunting even a common sport in Australia?), something like a rifle or shotgun for hunting purposes is fine by me. The person just has to check out with his license and everything.

 

 

 

I think Australia needs to outlaw medieval tools of war soon, as well as a pre-emptive strike against blackpowder weapons. That seems to be the direction you're heading, after all :P

 

 

 

And I agree with Killer. The younger generation seems very important to Australia, so they'd protect them as much as they can. I know that I'd only allow my children around weapons when hunting or during our preparations.
