If anything I would of thought having anti-alias set to X2/X4 would result in a much sharper/better quality image.

Depends what program is being used to shrink it Anti-Aliased looks better when you take the pic, but photoshop will anti-alias a picture as it shrinks it anyway (the alternative to this being what you see when you shrink a picture in ms paint). I don't know if we'll scale the final image though. Everything you've seen so far has been about a .75:1 scale of the PSD.
